Work Text:

[You know what? I'm just gonna let them keep going. To hell even trying to keep them under control.]

May 1986.

"I'm gonna go clean up my jeans."

Doug gave into his impulses.

Held onto Marty tight...

"Ack! Hey! Not so-"

... And planted a kiss on his lips.

"Doug!"

"... I don't- Know what-"

How Marty reacted was completely out of left field.

He'd smirked and held Doug's face in his hands... Pulled him closer...

"Well... We might just be friends, but..."

... And gave him a kiss back.

"Marty!? Hell was that for!?"

"Payback, Dougie~."

He swore he even felt him caressing his cheeks with his thumbs, right across his cheekbones. He still feels all warm and fuzzy. His whole face is bright red... Did Marty like him back?

"Pssht. Yeah fuckin' right."

In the bathroom, Marty pats himself dry. The spilled soda had gotten all over his calves and sneakers.

"I can't believe I did that."

Ever since the end of the trip... Everyone had been telling him that Doug liked him in a more than friendly way. He didn't really see it. Brushed it off as him just being a weird kid, like he always has. But the more he thinks about it, the more obvious it became.

There were so, so many instances where he acted in ways that should have indicated exactly that.

Staring at him. Hell, sometimes Marty caught Doug looking him up and down... Checking him out?

Getting all flustered on the bench in the square... They're both well aware it's couples that often occupy that bench.

The subtle shift in behavior when he found out that Marty is Hill Valley's own local legend, Clint Eastwood. His childhood idol in this timeline. He never would've guessed.

And then he kissed him just a few moments ago. And Marty gave him one back. A glance at the mirror reveals he's blushing. He tightly grasps his bangs and bites his lip.

... Why?

He doesn't like him like that, does he? He was just... Teasing him. Well, shit, that just makes it sound even more like he does.

With a sigh, he just takes his stained shoes off and turns the doorknob.

For a moment, he hesitates to go back out. He can't hide away forever. Doug's gonna check on him eventually. Better to see if he's going crazy or not out there instead of in the bathroom.

Doug stares down at the ground as he waits for Marty to come back.

"Idiot move..."

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

"What am I even gonna say...? Sorry? No way that's gonna cut it."

He's so lost in his thoughts that he doesn't notice Marty's sat back down. What he does notice are those hands cradling his face again.

"Mart- Mm!"

Their lips are pushed together yet again, prompting him to grab onto the other's waist. So he doesn't fall over, of course.

Goddammit...

Marty starts moving back and forth between the other's bottom and upper lips for a bit, slowly leaning in further. Both can feel the warmth of one another's rosy cheeks.

Goddammit!

He pulls away, looking absolutely mortified.

"No fuckin' way."

Doug grins slightly, snickering. Marty can't help but bite his lip in frustration.

"What, ya in-"

"God, don't you ever shut up?"

He starts kissing him again, still holding the other's face tightly. Why won't he stop? What is it that's making him suddenly so-

So drawn to Doug?

His stomach's all light and fluttery... He can feel his temperature run hot.

That tooth gap's kinda... Cute- Shit.

He's into Doug Needles... He likes guys.

He did always think some of his peers, even his bandmates, were "rather attractive for boys", but he'd never considered wanting to kiss any of them, let alone date any of them. He was just looking at the menu with no desire to order off of it, right?

...Right?

Doug never made him think that way, not even once.

It's the haircut that ruins i- Kill me now.

But now that all is said and done with finding his deadbeat sperm donor, it's got him thinking back on all that time they'd spent together during it... It made them grow closer. Is that why he's feeling this way?

No, that's not right.

It was much, much sooner than that. It's been ever since the 29th.

Maybe...?

Just thinking about that night makes his kisses become more intense, Marty letting his lips linger for longer and longer each time. He's getting messier with them, even nibbling the other's lips a bit.

Putting that bandage on Doug's knee felt so... Intimate. And the sensation of a hand brushing against his face that night... It had to be real. It was him. It was his hand on Marty's face.

He'd never gotten that close to him before then. Not even before he started sporting that dumb haircut... Before he started pushing him around all the time and causing trouble. Trouble he always tried roping Marty into.

He was just a big bully, huh?

And so annoying! The constant vying for his attention drove him absolutely nuts! And not in a good way! He's still so good at pushing his buttons... And back then he was always under his skin and calling him chicken. Now he's just a simple nuisance.

His mind's rushing around all over the place. He can't think straight. He can't stop. He won't stop. He wants Doug so badly. He needs him.

He pulls away for a bit, holding on so tight that his nails are lightly digging into the other's skin. They're both cherry red, but Doug still grins at him.

"Y'should slow yer roll, Big M."

That stupid little nickname. "Big M". Fuck! That made him feel so-

So feverish!

Marty's pressing him up against the couch now, unrelenting and sloppy with his kisses, with Doug gripping onto his waist even tighter while Marty holds onto him by his shirt's collar, legs laid atop Doug's lap.

Maybe he did look at the menu with Doug once or twice, recently. Glanced over and fixated on something about him. He's got a nice side profile. He doesn't mind those pronounced cheekbones that he'd been tracing over with his thumbs.

His haircut sucks, sure... But he'd love to run his fingers through his hair with how long the unshaven part has gotten. The way it curled down right in the middle of his forehead was cute. God, those constant attempts to grab his attention... The fact he did all that makes Marty feel a little warm and fuzzy, too. He'd never say it out loud, but he loves the attention. Like a rockstar should.

Opening his eyes, he peers over at that stupid haircut a bit... He can't help himself. One hand slides into those black-tipped curls, gently running his fingers through as his eyes shut once more. The other one lays atop the couch.

... I think I'm in love with Doug...

Not like the fact he can't keep his lips off the guy was indicative of that. No, not at all. But he shouldn't feel this way! He loves Jennifer, first off! Second off... It's Doug!

Fine. He likes guys. He can accept that. But why him? Why not Paul... Or Lee... Or Bobby? Just thinking about them makes him feel even warmer. They're all pretty cute. Dammit.

He can feel a hand slowly sliding under his shirt... And that's enough to break Marty out of his trance. He leans away, but his fingers are still intertwined with those messy locks. Doug quickly removes his hands from Marty's torso, rather embarrassed... He's absolutely silent, his eyes wide and his body red all over. Marty leans back further and smirks a bit, crossing his arms.

"Y'know, if it weren't for your constant pestering, Doug... I wouldn't've met Doc. Or go on a date... With... Jennifer. Shit!"

He stares at the floor. He looks like he's about to start pulling his hair out.

"What am I gonna do!? She's gonna fucking kill me!"

"Not if she doesn't-"

"Doesn't what? I'm not gonna lie to her."

Marty groans, palms to his temples and fingers ran through his bangs as he slumps back into the couch. His cheeks are back to that pale pink tone he'd seen in the mirror. That ravenous desire for Doug's affection just won't go away.

"So, ya had enough, Eastwood?"

"... Stop trying to coax me, Dougie."

"Dunno, you look like ya haven't."

"Fucks sake... Fine. Get it over with."

"Well, that's just rock and roll, isn't it?"

Marty cracks a smile and laughs a bit.

"More like punk rock, if anything."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever..."

Doug's hands hold his face as he pulls Marty closer. He can even feel his cheeks being squished slightly between his thumb and index fingers. A few pecks are laid on his face, Marty pulling him into a rather tender embrace. A far cry from the ferocity he'd shown earlier.

In due time, their lips are locked again. But his pace is slower.

Gentler.

Maybe it's just adrenaline. Maybe he doesn't love Doug the same way he loves Jennifer.

One thing's for sure; boys aren't different from girls.

Marty groans as he opens his eyes slightly. He'd fallen asleep.

His hair is an absolute disaster, suspenders close to slipping off, and shirt halfway untucked. His vision is full of dark brown tresses. It wasn't a weird dream. He'd made out with his rival.

Doug's arms are wrapped around him, head buried deep into his chest. Marty's still embracing him, and his face had clearly been buried into his hair.

He nuzzles back into it. It's soft. Smells nice.

... He's laid on his side. That couch isn't big enough for two people to lay on. Not unless they're laid on top of one another. He raises his head up slightly to see that he's clearly in a bedroom. One he recognizes. The guest bedroom; he'd slept in there once or twice.

Did Doug carry him in here? But then why were they laying next to each other?

Marty gently kisses him on the forehead, rousing him awake.

"... Dougie... Ya mind telling me why we're in a bed together?"

"Ya fell asleep and wouldn't let go'a me..."

He rather groggily looks up at Marty, eyes barely open.

"Every time I pried you off, you'd just hold on-", a yawn, "Even tighter."

He finally pries himself away- Only to get pulled close again, face right back up against Marty's chest.

"Stay."

His face is all up in stupid haircut again.

"Y'know, that's not the first time I've had t'carry ya in here... Y'kept rollin' off the couch."

That makes him blush. He's smitten... Just his luck.

It's that boyish charm... He really is just a dork deep down.

"Whatever... Just be quiet, Dougie.", he yawns, "I'm still tired."

And just like that, Marty becomes dead weight, lightly snoring into that mop of hair.

Doug thought Marty was someone he wanted but could never have. Yet here he is, snuggled up under a blanket and cuddling the boy he's been crushing on since 5th grade... The one with fluffy brown hair, who's sweet like cream.

Notes:

I'M FREE! I'M FREE! I have been working on and off all month on this, ever since I finished the original Pepsi Free.

It was fun though! Especially the concept of "fuck even trying to hold back as an author" dressed up as the characters having a mind of their own... Tee hee.

Comments and kudos are always appreciated!
