A gnawing feeling building inside
These grand emotions I just can’t hide
I truly want to, though
but each time I try
This anger inside me rises up high
It tickles my spine
and fuels my skin
But what does it matter,
if I still get to win?
I truly am the greatest,
I truly am the best
But my hands are burning
and so is my chest.
And as the fear rises to its peak,
I hear the sounds of a faint creek.
A sound of a voice
unknown but familiar
telling me something I don’t want to hear
You are not the greatest,
nor the best,
as long as you don’t look inside
And let go of the feelings
that you can’t hide.
