Zz- BEEEP, BEEEP, BEEEP!!!
Ugh…just five more minutes?

“Y/N!!! Get your ass down here—NOW!!!”
I heard my mother yelling for me from the first floor. That drunken bitch, always spending her money on alcohol and cigarettes…haven’t gotten new clothes in years, no new, updated tech or care products; anything a girl needs to survive. I dragged myself out of bed and put my hair in a messy bun. The sun’s rays warmed up my room, making my beautiful blue orbs shimmer like glitter on the ocean. I grabbed my robe, slipped on my slippers, and made my way downstairs as quickly as possible.

“Yeah, ma?” I responded once I reached the bottom of the stairs.
“Get this, you skank—you’re gettin’ yourself a new family.” She slurred, taking a swig of some sort of drink in the middle of her sentence.
Finally” I thought, but in reality, it had shocked me to my core.
“I’m what?” I asked for some sort of clarity, as if she could ever give me any.
“You heard me. Can’t afford t’ feed ya’ and get more booze!” Her vodka-drenched breath loud and rough in my face made me gag a little, but I was used to it…

“Your mother’s got the right idea,” A tall, tanned man in a wifebeater and combat boots entered the room, with four others behind him. All looked like some sort of motley crew, each coming from a completely different place. One was short and stout with dreads, while another was fat with spiked, lightly bleached hair and piercings. Something about them felt a little familiar…
“Wait a minute, you guys are from that band everyone loves…BLOODHOUND GANG!”

Oh no, not them. Anyone but them. All my friends would talk about was their music, and I was the only one who could never get behind it. Was this really happening? Was I actually getting sold to my practical worst enemies?!
“In the flesh!” A chubbier guy with a Phillies cap on said somewhat sarcastically.
“Oh god, oh god…you’ll never take me alive!” I quickly ran past the group, running up the hardwood stairs the best I could without slipping. When I reached the top, I slammed my door shut and locked it behind me. I fumbled through my closet until I found a tote bag for some of my belongings. I packed my favorite outfits, raggedy, old headphones, and my CD player my friend had gifted me for my birthday some years back. And with that, of course, some batteries and CDs.

I didn’t have much time, as I could hear powerful thumping coming up the stairs. I really hoped it wasn’t the tall, muscular one. He looked like he could beat me to a pulp…
“Y/N, YOU BRAT!!! WE HAVE FUCKIN’ GUESTS OVER AND YOU WANNA BE AN ASSHOLE LIKE YOU ALWAYS ARE!!! OPEN ‘DIS DOOR NOW!!!”
Even worse.
I quickly shoved the last of my belongings to my bag and forced the door open to face the woman claiming to be my mother. Behind her were the five men from moments ago.
“GOD, YOU’RE THE WORST MOTHER EVER!!! YOU’RE NOTHING BUT GUM ON THE BOTTOM OF MY SHOE YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!!”
“Ooh, she’s fierce,” One of the guys, a medium height guy who looked like a Backstreet Boy, remarked to the Phillies-cap-dude.
“WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!?!” At this point, she had flipped her lid.
“YOU HEARD ME, BITCH!!!” I stormed past her and back down the stairs, filled with so much rage I had even forgotten to tie my shoes. It was either I ran, or lived the rest of my life with these idiots.

Unfortunately, one of the Bloodhounds had chased after me and tackled me to the ground in my own unkempt dead lawn. Backstreet Boy…
“Ugh, get off of me!” I rolled over, shoving him to the ground and off my back. He gripped my ankle as I walked away and pulled me back down, before pulling me up by the scruff of my collar.
“OUT! OUT OF MY HOUSE, YOU WHORE!! AND NEVER COME BACK!!!” My mother demanded, as she slammed the door behind me. The shortest one, dread boy, grabbed my tote bag from off the lawn.

The tall muscular man looked me dead in my eyes and smirked. “Don’t worry, whore, we’re going to have so much fun.”
“I have a name, you know!” I swatted Backstreet Boy’s hand away and wandered off. I was following Phillies-cap towards a large, red bus. Was this seriously my life now?
