[VIDEO TITLE: WE TRIED TIKTOK FOOD TRENDS (SMOKE ALARM WAS TRIGGERED)]
[CAMERA: Phone-camera setup mounted against a giant 5 lb tub of vanilla whey protein powder on the kitchen counter. Vertical orientation, slightly angled down.]
[TALKING HEAD INTERVIEW – SHANE]
(Shane sits in the media room, looking pristine in a button down shirt. On the desk in front of him is an meticulously organized color-coded binder with tabs labelled "SEASON 1: NO PUCK IN THE KITCHEN.")
Shane: When Ilya ambushed me at 7:00 AM demanding we film a TikTok cooking video, I accepted my fate on one condition: total structure. I spent three hours researching the exact chemical composition of cloud bread and baked feta pasta. I created a step-by-step master document, printed out individual laminated recipe cards, and weighed every single ingredient down to the exact gram on my digital scale.
(He sighs deeply, taking off his glasses to rub the bridge of his nose.)
Shane: I gave Ilya a very simple, bulleted instruction sheet. It had five steps. I even used bold red text for safety precautions. I foolishly believed that if I provided a clear structure, an adult professional athlete could follow basic directives.
[TALKING HEAD INTERVIEW – ILYA]
(Ilya sits in the same room, wearing a sleeveless Centaurs hoodie, tossing a yellow tennis ball up and down with one hand.)
Ilya: Shane gave me a syllabus. Like we are in university chemistry class! (He laughs loudly) He put laminated paper on counter with red ink saying 'DO NOT SUBSTITUTE INGREDIENTS.' But cooking is about passion! It is about impulse! You cannot put Russian soul into a laminated spreadsheet, Hollander.

[THE PREPARATION & SHANE'S LIST]
The camera cuts to the bright kitchen island. On the left side, Shane's prep area looks like an operating room. Small clear glass bowls hold precisely 200g of cherry tomatoes, 1 block of sheep's milk feta, 4 large egg whites (measured at exactly 120ml), 30g of cornstarch, and 20g of granulated sugar.
Taped neatly to the marble counter is Shane's laminated sheet:
TIKTOK RECIPE PROTOCOL — EPISODE 1
1: BAKED FETA PASTA
1 block (200g) Greek Feta (DO NOT CRUMBLE)
2 cups Cherry Tomatoes
2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes (MAX 1/4 TSP)
DISH 2: CLOUD BREAD
4 Egg Whites (Room Temp)
30g CORNSTARCH (Box in Pantry Shelf 2, CLEARLY LABELED)
20g Sugar
Oven Temp: 300°F ONLY
"Okay, the camera is running," Shane says, pointing sternly at the phone. "Welcome. We have thirty minutes before our afternoon recovery session. We are following the written instructions taped right here on the counter. Ilya, do you understand your assignment?"
"Yes, Boss Shane!" Ilya salutes smartly, stepping into frame with a wild glint in his eyes.
Right behind him, Anya trots into the kitchen wearing her tiny green silicone chef apron. She immediately sits at Ilya's heel, resting her head against his leg, tail thumping rhythmically against the cabinet doors.
"Anya is safety inspector," Ilya announces, leaning down to give her a piece of raw carrot from his pocket. "She checks for quality."
"Anya is the only sane individual in this apartment," Shane mutters, picking up his spatula. "Let's begin with the pasta prep. Step one: place the feta in the middle of the dish."
------------------
COURSE 1: BAKED FETA PASTA (CHAOS STRIKES)
Shane carefully lays the block of feta into the center of the glass dish, surrounding it with the neatly washed cherry tomatoes. He turns around for four seconds to fetch the olive oil bottle from the pantry.
In those four seconds, chaos unfolds.
Ilya ignores the olive oil entirely. He reaches into the upper cabinet, grabs a giant, squeeze-bottle of store-bought garlic-parmesan mayo, a jar of whole pickled jalapeños, and an unlabelled bag of crushed chili peppers he brought back from a local shawarma shop.
"Ilya, what are you doing?" Shane demands, turning around with the olive oil. He freezes. "What is that?"
"Upgrading!" Ilya says triumphantly.
Before Shane can physically intervene, Ilya uncaps the mayo and squirts a thick, creamy spiral right over the pristine block of feta. Then, using his bare hands, he dumps half the jar of pickled jalapeños, juice and all straight into the tomatoes, followed by a handful of the lethal red chili flakes.
"ILYA! NO!" Shane shrieks, his voice cracking violently. He lunges forward, trying to grab the dish, but Ilya shields it with his massive shoulder like he's protecting a puck in the corner boards. "THAT IS NOT ON THE LIST! THE MAYO WILL SEPARATE AND TURN INTO HOT GREASE! YOU'RE DESTROYING THE EMULSION!"
"It needs flavor, Hollander!" Ilya booms, laughing hysterically as he shoves the heavy dish directly into the oven. "Your list is too boring! Too Canadian! Needs excitement!"
Shane stands there, holding his olive oil bottle, staring at the oven door in absolute, speechless horror. "I spent forty-five minutes calculating the calorie macros for that dish..."
"Anya, did I do good job?" Ilya asks, leaning down.
Anya lets out a cheerful WOOF! and licks a stray drop of mayo off Ilya's thumb.
"See? Chef Anya agrees with me!" Ilya grins.
COURSE 2: CLOUD BREAD (THE FLOUR DISASTER)
"Fine," Shane breathes out, taking a slow, deep, meditative breath. He adjusts his glasses and points a trembling finger at the second section of the laminated sheet. "Fine. The pasta is ruined. But we are making the Cloud Bread according to the chemical formulas. Step One: Whip the egg whites to stiff peaks."
Shane turns on the electric hand mixer. The whirring sound fills the room as he expertly brings the whites to a glossy, snowy foam. "Step Two: Add thirty grams of cornstarch. Ilya, hand me the small glass bowl marked 'CORNSTARCH'."
"Why use small bowl when we have big box?" Ilya asks.
Instead of grabbing the pre-measured glass bowl Shane set out, Ilya reaches blindly into the pantry, grabs a massive 5lb brown paper bag, and rips it open with his teeth.
"Ilya, wait—"
Ilya dumps three massive, unmeasured cupfuls of dense white powder straight into Shane's delicate meringue. A huge cloud of white dust explodes into the air, instantly coating Shane's face, dark hair, and glasses in a thick layer of white flour.
Shane stops mixing. He slowly wipes a circle of flour off his glasses lens, staring at the brown paper bag in Ilya's hand.
"Ilya..." Shane's voice is deathly quiet. "Read the bag."
Ilya squints at the Cyrillic label he wrote on the paper bag three weeks ago. "It says... Muka."
"Flour," Shane translates, his tone hollow. "You just dumped three cups of bread flour into whipping egg whites. You made raw dough paste. The list explicitly said CORNSTARCH ONLY."
"White powder is white powder, Hollander!" Ilya insists, waving his hands, which only scatters more flour into the air. "We bake it! It will be extra thick cloud!"
"It's not going to be a cloud, it's going to be a mortar shell!" Shane yells, grabbing a rubber spatula to try and salvage the mixture, but it's already turning into a thick, rubbery, gray glob.
Ilya, completely unfazed, grabs a spoon, scoops the heavy paste onto a baking sheet, and shoves it into the top rack of the oven, right above his sizzling, mayo-drenched feta pasta.
"And what temperature did you put the oven at, Ilya?" Shane asks, his eyes wide with impending doom.
"450 degrees!" Ilya says proudly. "Faster baking!"
Shane looks at his laminated instruction sheet, which clearly reads: OVEN TEMP: 300°F ONLY.
Shane quietly folds his arms, steps back three feet, and sits down on a kitchen stool. "We have approximately three minutes before combustion."
COURSE 3: THE SMOKE ALARM & THE ESCAPE
Exactly two minutes and forty seconds later, a thick, jet-black plume of greasy smoke begins pouring out of the oven vents.
"Ooh," Ilya says, leaning in close to the glass. "Is getting nice crust!"
"IT'S CARBON, ILYA!" Shane shouts, jumping up from his stool as the apartment's high-decibel smoke alarm detonates overhead.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Anya instantly bolts toward the living room, sliding across the hardwood floor and ducking under the sofa with only her tail sticking out.
"OPEN THE BALCONY!" Shane screams, grabbing two dish towels and frantically waving them under the ceiling detector. "THE MAYO IS BURNING! THE BREAD IS ON FIRE!"
Ilya grabs his giant Centaurs team towel, running around the kitchen island like a wild man, fanning the air with massive, wind-turbine sweeps. "GO OUT, SMOKE! LEAVE HOLANDER ALONE!"
In his violent fanning frenzy, Ilya's towel catches the edge of the protein powder tub on the counter. The tub knocks over, sending his iPhone tumbling off the counter. The phone lands flat on the floor, camera facing up, capturing the terrifying sight of Shane standing on a kitchen chair waving a laminated recipe card at the ceiling while Ilya aggressively fights smoke with a bath towel.
----------------
Fifteen minutes later, the smoke has cleared. The balcony door is wide open, letting in the cool air.
Shane and Ilya are sitting side-by-side on the floor against the kitchen island. Shane is covered in white flour, with a streak of black soot across his forehead. He is holding his laminated instruction sheet, which is now crumpled and slightly singed at the corner.
Beside them, the burnt, rock-solid brick of 'cloud bread' sits on a paper plate, smoking gently. Next to it, however, is the glass baking dish of pasta—the cheese had melted into a weird, greasy, hyper-spicy jalapeño sauce.
Anya creeps out from under the couch, trotting over to sit between Ilya's legs, resting her chin on Shane's knee.
Shane looks down at his list, then at the smoking black brick. "Step four was 'Enjoy your light, fluffy dessert.' We created an improvised explosive device."
Ilya picks up the cloud bread and slams it down on the hardwood floor. CLANG! It sounds like a iron dumbbell hitting the ground.
"Is structural brick," Ilya says thoughtfully. "We build house with this."
Shane sighs, dipping a fork tentatively into the oily jalapeño pasta. He puts a tiny bite into his mouth, chews twice, and freezes.
His eyes widen.
"...Wait." Shane blinks. "Why is this good?"
Ilya grins wildly, taking a massive forkful and shoving it into his mouth. "I TOLD YOU! Jalapeño and mayo! Russian-Canadian fusion!"
"It's terrible for my cholesterol, the macros are completely ruined, and it violates every culinary principle I hold dear..." Shane mutters, taking a second, much larger bite. "...but the spice actually cuts through the feta."
"I am genius!" Ilya roars, throwing his heavy arm over Shane's shoulders, dragging Shane sideways into a hard hug and dropping a loud, messy kiss on Shane's flour dusted temple. "Spreadsheet lost, Ilya won!"
Shane groans, trying to push Ilya away, but his hand stays resting on Ilya's knee as he eats another bite of pasta off the same fork. "You're still cleaning the oven, Rozanov."
"Chef Anya will help!" Ilya laughs boisterously as the phone on the floor continues recording their flour covered faces.

[TALKING HEAD INTERVIEW – SHANE]
(Shane sits back in the interview chair, holding his ruined, soot-stained laminated sheet.)
Shane: I am throwing this binder in the trash. Rules do not apply in this house. Structure is an illusion.
(He looks off-camera, his voice softening just a fraction.)
...He did buy me a new digital scale to replace the one covered in mayo, though. Episode Two is next week. I am hiring a fire department unit to stand in the hallway.
[TALKING HEAD INTERVIEW – ILYA]
(Ilya sits back on the couch, rubbing Anya's belly while she lies upside down in his lap.)
Ilya: Great success. High drama. Shane ate the mayo pasta and admitted I was right. Next week for Episode 2, I am not letting him use any instructions at all. Pure chaos.
(Anya lets out a soft, happy snore as the screen cuts to black.)
