Work Text:
Dani is over, at Yoonchae's new apartment that she has all to herself. Lara had been the first to visit. Now, Dani. They've been spending more time together, since February. Since the other girls had been… more occupied with each other.
She likes living alone—had asked for it. She didn't want to be Sophia's responsibility any more. She wanted to be her own person: an adult. She didn't need Sophia. Still, she missed her. Also, she missed Megan. They spent less time together, now. Sophia and Megan spent more time with each other.
"I'm… you know. Alone," Yoonchae says. "What's the word?"
"Mmm?" Dani says, looking up at her. "What?"
"Like, they don't want to spend time with me?"
"Oh. Excluded?"
"Excluded," she says, nodding. That was right.
"Girl, we can be excluded together. Manon won't shut up about Lara. She's got it bad," she says, laughing. Yoonchae smiles, then bites her lip.
"The MIA outros are getting kind of insane," Dani says, popping a chip in her mouth, chewing thoughtfully. Manon and Lara's MIA outro on stage at Coachella was so intense, she blushes, just thinking about it.
The MIA performance, in general, just, didn't feel like it was her thing. She didn't do well with so much improvisation time, on stage.
"Twitter lost its fucking mind," Dani says. "Or so Megan told me." Dani shrugs. Yoonchae knows Dani avoids social media, these days.
"No one thinks of me like that," Yoonchae says.
"Like what?"
"Like," Yoonchae says, "they think I don't have rizz."
Dani pulls back, looking at her with her eyebrows raised. Then, she squints her eyes, tilting her head, looking at Yoonchae closely, her eyes dragging over her face, her hair, her body.
"You do," she says.
Yoonchae doesn't believe her. She groans, flopping her head down dramatically.
"No, hey! You do!" Dani protests, and Yoonchae hates it. She knows Dani is just being nice.
Dani tugs on Yoonchae's arm.
"Girl, stop being so dramatic."
Yoonchae lets Dani pull on her arm, shaking it, head still buried in the crook of her other elbow.
"Ok. That's it. Try to rizz me," Dani says.
Yoonchae peaks up at her. She's wiping cheese dust off her fingers with a napkin.
"What?"
"Try to rizz me!" Dani says, and she rolls her shoulders back. Preparing.
Yoonchae groans again, but she straightens up.
She looks at Dani, and then Dani laughs, and Yoonchae laughs, and hits Dani's shoulder.
"Ouch!" Dani says, and swats back at her.
"Stop laughing!"
"Ok, ok. Sorry," Dani says. Her eyes are sparkling, and she does stop laughing, kind of smiling still, looking at Yoonchae, and Yoonchae notices the little dimples in her cheeks, and her little nose, her freckles.
"You're so cute," Yoonchae says, reaching out to touch Dani's face, poking lightly at her dimple. She watches Dani blush, and Yoonchae feels her stomach, her chest, flood with warmth. She pokes at her dimple again, and Dani grabs Yoonchae's hand with hers, pulling it down.
Yoonchae looks at her again, and Dani raises her eyebrows, widening her eyes comically large, and Yoonchae widens her eyes back. Dani's cheeks are still dusted a pretty pink.
"You're blushing," she says, and Dani rolls her eyes.
"Ok," she says, patting Yoonchae's hand. "That's enough Yoonchae rizz for one day."
___
Yoonchae is looking at herself in the monitor, after they've been dressed as "Boyseye." She looks … good. She voices it, and then feels Lara's hand on her back, and squeezing her shoulder.
She looks like a guy. She likes it. It's weird, but. She can't stop smiling. She tries to control her expression.
They're taking group shots, and Yoonchae feels Dani's grip slide up and around her chin, moving her face towards her. Dani is smirking, then laughing, her touch demanding.
Yoonchae lets her touch. She likes the way Dani touches her. It's different. It's not like when Megan and Lara touch her. They take turns slapping her back with their open palms, in their Boyseye outfits, and she hits them back.
Dani sits with Sophia, playing Dani's Switch. Dani's all cuddled up. Cute.
Manon keeps coming up behind Lara, whispering in her ear, and Lara keeps smirking. Yoonchae's face blazes, warm, and Lara raises an eyebrow at her. It's annoying.
___
Dani wanders over, as Yoonchae is doing her solo "Boyseye" shots. Dani's already changed into her next look. She's wearing a tiny little bra, and low rise pants, the lace of her underwear exposed. Yoonchae can feel Dani's eyes on her, can see the little smile on her lips as she watches her.
Lara wanders over, too, and she leans against Dani, watching Yoonchae, too. Yoonchae tries to stay focused, knowing they are watching.
"Where has he been hiding, Yoonchae?" Lara says, as Yoonchae walks over to them once her shoot is done.
"He's honestly really hot," she says, appreciatively, turning to Dani, "don't you think?"
Dani looks at Yoonchae again, looks her up and down, and nods. Yoonchae's chest floods with warmth. She wills herself not to blush.
Later, a camera is in her face, and one of their staff is asking which of the girls would make the best boyfriend. She thinks of herself, as a guy, and it comes out before she can think about it too hard.
"Me," she says.
Later, when she's informed they all chose Sophia, she scowls. It's weird. But she doesn't like that. Why Sophia? It makes sense that Megan would say that… but the other girls? Dani?
Yoonchae approaches her, later on.
"Sophia would not be a better boyfriend than me," she says.
Dani looks at her.
"What?"
"You chose Sophia. But I would be a better boyfriend than her."
Dani looks at her, considering, tilting her head to the side.
"You did look really good, as a guy," she says, and Yoonchae feels a rush of pleasure shoot through her. She smiles. Dani smiles back. "I'm sure you'd be a great boyfriend," she says, and Yoonchae knows she's just humoring her, but still.
She doesn't know why it feels so good, hearing Dani say that.
___
They're at Yoonchae's place again, playing video games, and then just sitting, and talking.
"I've never had a boyfriend," Yoonchae says.
Dani looks at her. Yoonchae's not sure why she said that. It's true but. She isn't sure why it felt necessary to say, right now.
"Do you want a boyfriend?"
"No." She says it quickly. More quickly than she meant to.
Dani doesn't say anything. She likes that about Dani. She gives her space. She knows Yoonchae needs more time, to get her thoughts out.
"I just want to know what it's like," she says. She chews the inside of her lip.
Dani hums, but still, she doesn't say anything.
"Kissing, you know," Yoonchae says.
Dani's eyebrows go up.
"You've never kissed anyone?"
"When did I have time to kiss?" Yoonchae says, trying not to feel embarrassed, at admitting this. It's actually not really true, she has had kisses, sort of, just never anything real.
Dani looks at her, eyebrows furrowed.
"Aw, Yoonchip," she says. Yoonchae doesn't like that. It feels like pity. She doesn't want Dani to pity her. She punches Dani's arm.
"Ow," Dani says, groaning. "What was that for?"
Dani is kind of pathetic. She's like a puppy.
Yoonchae doesn't say anything. She just squeezes Dani's arm where she had punched her, soothing over it. Maybe she hit her too hard. Dani lets her touch.
"You really never kissed anyone?" she asks.
"Not really," Yoonchae says, shrugging.
"You can kiss me," Dani says, offhandedly.
"Ah? What?" Yoonchae thinks maybe she misheard Dani.
"I'm just saying," Dani says, shrugging. "If you want."
Yoonchae's face is so red, and so warm. She feels like her head is going to explode.
Dani laughs, moving her hand up to point at Yoonchae's face.
Oh. Dani is making fun of her. Yoonchae scowls.
"That's not what I mean," she says, rolling her eyes.
She forces herself to laugh, too. It's funny. A very funny joke.
___
Yoonchae lays awake in bed. She can't stop thinking about kissing Dani.
She screws up her face. That would be really weird.
She pictures it. Dani. Her friend. Her big sister.
She'd have to lean down, to kiss her.
She shakes her head. She's obviously not going to kiss her, so this is stupid and not worth thinking about.
Her small frame, pressed against her.
She rolls over and pushes her face in the pillow.
Her dimples. Her nose.
She's going to stop thinking about Dani. Right now.
Her lips.
Fuck.
___
She hasn't been able to stop thinking about kissing Dani.
The next time Dani comes over, Yoonchae barely makes it through handing Dani a drink from her fridge, Dani standing in front of her in her kitchen, before she's blurting out.
"I want to kiss."
Dani's eyes get big, and she laughs. Yoonchae doesn't laugh. This is very serious. It doesn't even matter that this is embarrassing, and maybe not what Dani meant. This is a poison that's infected her mind, and she needs to have it so that she can forget about it and start thinking about other things again. Normal things.
"Yoonchae?" Dani asks, her eyebrows furrowing
"You said we could," Yoonchae says, reminding her. It's shaky ground, but. It's what she has. Dani's word. And Dani has always supported her. Always care for her. Always.
Yoonchae pulls on one of Dani's curls that frames her face, watching it spring back up. She watches the smile fade off of Dani's face. She watches her swallow.
"I…" she starts, then shakes her head slowly, before the shakes turn in to nods. "If you want."
Yoonchae is looking at Dani's lips. She's biting her lower lip, her perfect teeth sinking in.
Yoonchae leans down, and Dani tilts her head up, and kisses her, just gently, just a soft press of their lips. It lasts only a few moments, and then Dani pulls back, and Yoonchae does, too.
Yoonchae's lips tingle slightly from where Dani's had touched hers. She resists the urge to lick her lips, wanting to soak up more of the feeling, but not knowing if it would be too much.
Dani smiles at her, one of those soft smiles, and shakes her head slightly, like she can't believe they did that.
"One more," Yoonchae says, and she doesn't phrase it like a question. Dani nods, barely, and Yoonchae leans down, and Dani angles her head up, again, and Yoonchae's eyes flutter closed, feeling Dani's nose brush against hers.
Dani's lips are so soft. She kisses her a bit harder, and Dani's lips slot between hers, and she can feel that they're wet, too. Dani is letting Yoonchae lead. Yoonchae feels so curious. She sucks gently on Dani's bottom lip, and then she sinks her teeth in, just gently, just the way Dani had been doing, to herself, and Dani gasps, and pulls back, looking up at her. Yoonchae searches her face, still so curious, and then Dani smiles.
Dani places a hand on her shoulder, and pushes her back. Yoonchae lets Dani push.
"That's enough rizzchae for today," Dani murmurs, and Yoonchae grins.
___
The next time they hang out, Dani looks over at her, while they are playing, and then she pauses the game, and she puts her controller down.
Yoonchae whines in protest. They were in the middle of a race. They didn't pause mid-race. Yoonchae hated that.
"How was it?" Dani asks.
"What?"
"The kiss? How was it?"
Yoonchae is surprised. She had not expected Dani to bring up their kiss. She had tried really hard not to think about it, actually. It was out of her system, now.
"Oh," Yoonchae says. "That."
She knew what it felt like to kiss Dani, now. She wasn't curious at all anymore. The poison that had infected her was totally, completely gone. She had done it, and so. It was done.
"Yeah! That!" Dani says, nodding, her eyes so pretty. So expressive. Like a cartoon character.
"Fine," Yoonchae says, shrugging.
"Fine?!" Dan squeaks.
"Yes," Yoonchae says, nodding. She tries not to smile.
"That's it?!" Dani says, gesturing between them.
Dani pouts.
Yoonchae grins.
"Good," she says, quieter, running a hand through her hair. Dani watches her, arms folded over her chest. She nods, looking down, smiling, biting her lip.
Yoonchae knows she's blushing, her face feels hot, talking about this. She has to make sure Dani doesn't tease her about it.
"Can we play?" she asks, feigning impatience.
Dani huffs out a long, exasperated sigh, and smiles brightly at her.
"Ok, damn. Yeah. Let's play."
___
They leave the Ariana Grande concert, the other girls splitting off to their own cars. Yoonchae takes Dani's hand, and Dani lets her. They walk to Dani's car, and Yoonchae opens the drivers door, for Dani, without thinking, and Dani looks at her quizzically, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth.
As Dani drives, Yoonchae watches her. Dani is almost 22.
"Your birthday," she says.
Dani glances at her, then smiles.
"My birthday?"
"It's soon." Yoonchae says, finishing her thought.
"Yeah."
"What do you want to do?"
"Mmm," Dani says, drumming her fingers on the wheel. "Go out, maybe."
Yoonchae nods. Dani likes going out. Yoonchae tries not to care, that when Dani goes out, she can't go with her.
Music is playing in Spanish. Yoonchae likes Spanish. Especially when Dani speaks it. She likes the way it sounds. She likes watching Dani's mouth move as she sings along.
"What does the song say?" Yoonchae asks.
"Oh," Dani says. "Um, it's called Beso." She swallows. "Kiss."
Yoonchae watches her, her hands on the steering wheel, then back up to her lips, again.
"It's about… being away from someone. Wanting them. Waiting for them."
Yoonchae nods. Dani glances at her, then back at the road.
"Oh."
___
Dani has a party at her place, for Manon's birthday. They've all been drinking. Manon and Lara have been all over each other, all night. It's sweet. She watches Sophia whispering in Megan's ear.
Late in the night, Yoonchae's head is pleasantly buzzy. She feels happy. Loose.
The birthday banner Dani had hung is going crooked, falling down. Dani is reaching up, on her tip toes, trying, to fix it, and Yoonchae walks up behind her.
She can reach high places, the places Dani can't reach. She pokes Dani's side, and she crumples, squeaking, and Yoonchae smiles, taking the banner that has fallen, and reaching up, hanging it herself.
When she turns back to Dani, her arms are crossed over her chest.
"I had that."
"No."
"I did!"
Dani's reaction only makes Yoonchae want to tease her more.
"You're so tiny."
"I'm not," Dani whines.
"Tiny," Yoonchae says.
She pats Dani on the head, and Dani swipes at her hand, and then stomps her foot.
"Stop," she groans, drawing it out.
"So cute," she says, laughing. "So cute and so tiny."
Dani twirls around, like she's going to leave, and Yoonchae doesn't want that. She grabs her wrist, and pulls, and suddenly Dani's body is pressed to hers. She sways slightly, still holding Dani's wrist in her hand. She can feel the heat of her.
Dani looks at her, and her eyes flit down to her lips, so quickly Yoonchae is barely sure it happened, then back up at her eyes. Yoonchae's stomach flutters.
"You're a menace," Dani murmurs, and pushes Yoonchae back and away from her.
Yoonchae is getting kind of tired of that, of being pushed away.
___
After mostly everyone has left, Yoonchae looks at her phone, to call an Uber.
"You can stay here, Yoonchae, if you want," Dani offers. "Like a sleepover."
Yoonchae nods, smiling. Dani pulls on her own fingers.
Dani changes into a tank top. She's just wearing underwear, no shorts or anything. Yoonchae swallows, and follows suit, changing into the baggy t-shirt Dani gave her, to sleep in, leaving herself in her underwear, too.
"Did you have a lot of sleepovers?" she asks.
"Actually, no," Dani says. "I don't think I ever had a sleepover. Until training. I didn't have a lot of girlfriends growing up."
Dani taught her English, back when they were in training. Yoonchae will never forget that — how patient she was, how kind. Like an older sister. Yoonchae winces, just thinking it. She doesn't feel like Dani is like her older sister. Not anymore. She wonders if Dani still thinks of her as a younger sister. She hopes she doesn't.
Yoonchae lays back in bed, next to Dani, under the covers. She's lying on her back, looking over at Dani, who is on her side, facing her.
"Did you?"
"No, not really. Not until the group. And, with Megan."
Yoonchae smiles, remembering. But. She definitely hadn't ever been in her underwear, in any of her sleepovers with Megan.
"How many boyfriends have you had?"
Yoonchae's not sure why she said that. Dani's eyebrows raise.
"A few," Dani says, nodding thoughtfully.
"Were they good?" she asks.
"Yeah, they were good. Nice. Clean. It was a long time ago, though."
Yoonchae turns onto her side, to face Dani.
"Do you want a boyfriend?" she asks, quieter. The room feels smaller, now, somehow. She doesn't know why she feels the need to whisper.
Dani looks at her, pulling her cheeks in, so she looks like a fish. Cute. She shrugs.
"I think I'm ok, right now," she answers, finally, whispering back, matching Yoonchae's soft tone.
Yoonchae doesn't say anything. Eventually, Dani keeps talking, keeps whispering.
"I know the other girls have each other. Some times I feel left out, but. I know something is meant for me, too. When the time is right, you know?"
Yoonchae nods. Dani's looking at her, and her eyes are so pretty. Yoonchae's bare ankle grazes Dani's, and then Dani loops her foot over Yoonchae's, and then she's blinking, slower, and slower, and her eyes are staying closed for longer, until finally they stay closed. Yoonchae watches her breathe. She resists the urge to brush her hair from where it's falling in her face behind her ear, or to brush her fingers across the bow of her lips.
"Goodnight, Yoonchae," Dani murmurs.
"Goodnight," Yoonchae whispers back.
___
Yoonchae doesn't see Dani on her birthday, but she sends her a text.
Happy Birthday! Let's celebrate soon.
Dani heart reacts her message.
Thank you! For sure! Soon!
Dani sends her a photo. She's at a bar, with Manon, and Sophia. She taps the photo, and it's live, and she can hear Dani laughing, and Manon moving towards her, Sophia smiling and tilting her head, the photo in motion — a perfect snapshot.
Yoonchae has to wait so long before she can go to a bar. At least here in LA.
Maybe, the next time they go somewhere, somewhere else, for work, she can take Dani somewhere. She tries not to let herself think about that, too much. She tries to stop herself from hoping.
___
Yoonchae plans a day, outside of the city, for her and Dani, to celebrate her birthday.
They go to the beach. Dani likes the beach, loves being in the sun.
She watches Dani, her body, on her beach towel, as she tans. Yoonchae wears her swim suit, too, and she doesn't miss the way Dani looks her over, from head to toe.
"What have you been reading recently?" Yoonchae asks, playing with the sand, drawing patterns in it.
"I haven't really had time to read, lately," Dani mentions.
"We should read together," Yoonchae offers.
Dani smiles at her.
They stay out all day, eating dinner at the beach, and when the sun sets, Yoonchae wants to put her arm around Daniela.
Dani reaches out and grabs her hand, brushing her finger over her knuckles, absently touching her, before letting go.
"Thank you, for today."
"Happy Birthday," Yoonchae says.
Yoonchae traces every edge of Dani's face with her eyes, how she looks in the light of the sunset, just to remember this moment. It feels important, to her.
___
The next time Dani comes over, Dani brings a book, and Yoonchae sketches in her sketchbook. Dani puts her legs up on top of Yoonchae's lap, on the couch. Yoonchae watches her, between sketching.
Time stretches on. Yoonchae likes the quiet. Dani is kind of loud, usually—but she can be quiet, too.
After a while, Dani puts her book down, and stretches out her back. Yoonchae looks up at her.
"Can you draw me?" Dani asks.
"I don't really… draw people," Yoonchae says.
"Aw, c'mon! You're so good," Dani says, whining a little.
Yoonchae shakes her head, smiling.
"Draw me, for my birthday," Dani demands.
"It's not your birthday, anymore," Yoonchae counters.
"Whatever!"
Yoonchae rolls her eyes.
She won't tell Dani, but she already has drawn her. She's drawn her a few times. Just when they'd been all hanging out, in their down time. Just her side profile, or her eyes — the cat-like shape of them. Just what she can remember, from the beach.
"Maybe," Yoonchae says, tapping her pencil on her sketchbook.
Dani tilts her head, and folds her arms over her chest, poking at Yoonchae's stomach, with her foot. Yoonchae grabs Dani's foot, and tickles it gently, and Dani squeals, so loud, but. Yoonchae guesses she doesn't mind the loudness, so much. When it's Dani.
___
At their performance at Head in the Clouds, Dani's hand brushes up her body, easily touching her. She likes that Dani touches her. She doesn't seem afraid of touching her, the way Lara and Megan sometimes seem. Manon and Sophia kind of avoid it, too.
Dani though. Dani includes her. She always has.
Yoonchae likes Dani's hand dragging up her thighs, over her side.
After their performance, Dani hugs her, wrapping her arms around Yoonchae's neck, and Yoonchae bends down, and wraps her arms around Dani, and picks her up, spinning her around. Dani squeals.
___
Dani comes over. Yoonchae is dressed down, wearing a big oversized t-shirt with baggy jeans. She runs a hand through her hair. She watches Dani watch her hand move.
"It's warm in here," Dani says as she moves in through the doorway.
"I can turn down the a/c."
Dani unzips her sweatshirt, and she's just wearing a little crop top, barely anything really, not a shirt. Dani likes wearing tiny little bras instead of shirts.
Yoonchae turns the a/c down, feeling a little bit warmer herself.
Dani has been wearing her hair straight recently, but today it's curly. Yoonchae pulls on one of her curls, then brushes her hand lightly on top of them. She likes Dani's curly hair.
Dani seems to like it, her eyes closing, leaning her head briefly into Yoonchae's hand. Yoonchae brushes her hand down her hair again, and again, petting her. Yoonchae giggles.
"You're like a little puppy," Yoonchae says.
Dani looks at her, outraged.
"A puppy?"
"Cute. And tiny," she says, smirking. She likes teasing Dani. It's so easy. She always reacts.
Dani is going red in the face, her mouth kind of hanging open.
"Adorable," she says, petting Dani still.
Dani kind of bares her teeth. Yoonchae smiles.
"Bad puppy," she teases, and Dani pushes her, and Yoonchae tips backward toward the couch. She grabs Dani's wrist, as she falls back, pulling until Dani is stumbling into her, squealing. Dani tries to get up, but Yoonchae pulls her closer, onto her lap. She lets her hands rest gently against her lower back. They're both laughing, and Yoonchae's eyes fall to Dani's perfect teeth, her mouth.
Yoonchae watches Dani's tongue peak out, wetting her lips, and she pushes up, and kisses her. Dani squeaks, surprised. Yoonchae lets her hands drift up, to Dani's waist, and she feels Dani press forward, too. The kiss is still gentle, but this time, she can feel Dani's body so close to hers, on top of her, the heat of her in her lap.
Yoonchae feels up and around Dani's back, and then she presses a hand to Dani's abs, stroking her thumb over Dani's muscles, and she feels them flex, and then Dani's tongue is teasing gently at her lower lip, and Yoonchae opens her mouth a bit, curious, and slowly, so slowly, she lets her own tongue pass against Dani's, barely touching, and she feels a burning feeling in her lower stomach. She opens her mouth again, and does it again, licking softly at Dani's tongue, and Dani makes a sweet sound, into her mouth, before pulling back, a hand on Yoonchae's shoulder, putting some distance between them, panting softly.
Dani looks at her, searching her face, and Yoonchae licks her lips. She squeezes Dani's hips instinctively.
"What," Dani murmurs, sounding dazed, "is going on?"
Yoonchae shrugs.
Dani bites her lip, and then stands, up and away from Yoonchae. Yoonchae scratches the back of her neck. Dani huffs out a laugh. Yoonchae doesn't really think it's all that funny.
"I know I said we could kiss," she says, half facing away from Yoonchae. "But we probably shouldn't, anymore."
"Ok," Yoonchae agrees, automatically.
Dani looks at her, looks at her mouth, tugs on her hair, adjusts it over her shoulder.
Yoonchae gets up, so she's standing face to face with Dani. She's just… curious.
"Why?" she asks.
"Because," Dani says, looking away from her, moving, starting to walk, then turning around. "I don't know! I've never even kissed a girl before, this is…" she rushes out, then gulps in a deep breath of air, "new."
Yoonchae nods again. She watches her neck, and she can see her pulse fluttering, quick, like a scared rabbit. She kind of likes that. Dani is affected by this, even if she says they shouldn't do it anymore.
"You're nervous," Yoonchae says, and Dani looks at her incredulously, her eyes wide, mouth slightly open. Yoonchae smiles, one side of her mouth quirking up uncontrollably.
"I'm not," Dani protests.
"Ok," Yoonchae says, shrugging, folding her arms. "You're not."
"I'm not!"
"Sure."
"Yoonchae," Dani says, and she gets closer to her, just to push her, and Yoonchae grabs her hand, keeping her close, just for a moment, just because she's so tired, of being pushed away, and then Dani is looking up at her mouth, and Dani's body is so warm against her, and then Dani is leaning up, and kissing her, and Yoonchae kisses her back.
Everything about Dani is so soft. Her hair, her skin. Her lips, her tongue. It makes Yoonchae shiver, tingles shooting up her spine. Dani tastes so good, minty, like the gum she sometimes chews.
Dani's hands are fisted in her baggy t-shirt, around her back, pulling. Yoonchae nips at her bottom lip, again, like she had before, and Dani responds, gasping, like she had before. Yoonchae likes that, so, so much.
Dani pulls back, and she's breathing kind of heavily, but she doesn't pull back all the way when she breathes out,
"Seriously, Yoonchae, what the fuck is going on?"
"Stop talking," Yoonchae says. She moves her hands, down, touches Dani's abs, again, tracing them with her fingers, and the muscles jump and twitch under her touch. Dani's breathing is coming out a bit shaky.
Yoonchae doesn't know what the fuck is going on. She just knows she likes it. She likes touching Dani. She likes it when Dani touches her. She likes kissing her.
"I like…" Dani's looking at her, and she looks at her eyes, the kind of green color they have, how they're different in different lights. "Your eyes," she finishes.
Dani rolls her eyes, but she's smiling, and then she's groaning, and resting her forehead against Yoonchae's chest. Yoonchae touches her hair, pulling gently on her curls, and Dani melts into her. Yoonchae smiles. She's glad she isn't pushing her away.
She likes Dani's curls. She likes how small Dani is, how her body feels pressed close to her. She likes leaning down and into her.
She likes that Dani thinks Yoonchae would make a good boyfriend.
"I drew you," Yoonchae says, remembering.
Dani looks up at her, her eyes big and hopeful.
"Wait, really?"
Yoonchae nods. She pulls away, to go get the drawing. Her heart is beating so fast in her chest.
She presents it to her, and she feels like she might vomit, but Dani's looking at the drawing like it's the best thing she's ever seen, and then she's looking up at Yoonchae, with the same expression on her face.
Yoonchae feels herself blush, wills herself not to deflect, not to say it's not that good.
"Thank you," Dani says.
Yoonchae nods, finding it suddenly difficult to look at her.
Dani touches her hand, then pulls it into hers, threading their fingers together. She tugs, and leans up, and kisses Yoonchae on the cheek.
"Do you want to play video games?" Dani asks, softly.
Yoonchae grins, and nods.
They sit on the couch, and they play, and Dani yells at her, and Yoonchae yells back, and it kind of feels the same as it always does, but now, Yoonchae has a fluttering feeling in her stomach, and she wonders, when Dani will kiss her again.
