Lord Bracken had been very clear that Mya wasn’t permitted to leave the house in his absence, but what her father didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him. Of course, if he found out, it would be Mya who was hurt, but she doubted he would.
She left in disguise, hoping to avoid notice. She didn’t even really know what she was looking for. Anything but staying in Stone Hedge forever.
She hadn’t planned on the sex, but she didn’t regret that it had happened, even if her inexperience had made it a little awkward. Jenny was sweet, a good sort of woman. She had been understanding of Mya’s nervous indecision, and said nothing about Mya’s scars and bruises, nor the way her body was formed, to Mya’s private relief. She wouldn’t have minded seeing Jenny again, but she wouldn’t. It would be far too dangerous.
