Elgara was to be taken by Mythal. She found herself strangely unafraid, as she said her goodbyes, hugging her friends close. Someone had to go. Elgara wouldn’t make things worse by fighting, when nothing could save her clan from the will of the gods.
One of Mythal’s staff arrived for her as dawn broke. Elgara left without struggle or protestation. If she fought it would only be worse for her.
Mythal was beautiful. A goddess would be, Elgara supposed, but somehow she hadn’t quite expected it. She found herself drawn to her, and resented herself and Mythal both for it.
