The first hint of a new day wasn’t the harsh ring of an alarm, but the gentle shift of weight beside him, a soft sigh that stirred the quiet air of their bedroom. Joshua, nestled deeply against Jeonghan’s chest, stirred, his jasmine scent blooming a little stronger with the warmth of waking. It wasn’t the anxious, cloying sweetness of pre-heat jitters from days past, but a calm, contented fragrance, like sun-warmed petals after a gentle rain.
Jeonghan kept his eyes closed for a moment longer, savoring the feeling. Joshua’s head was tucked perfectly under his chin, one arm draped possessively across his torso, a bare leg thrown casually over his. Their bodies fit together like puzzle pieces, accustomed to each other’s curves and hollows. This was their lazy Sunday morning ritual, one they cherished above all others: waking slowly, without agenda, bathed in the soft, diffused light that filtered through the heavy curtains.
He tightened his arm around Joshua’s waist, pulling him even closer, letting his own cedarwood and vanilla scent deepen and spread, mingling with Joshua’s tranquil jasmine. It was an unspoken conversation, a reaffirmation of their bond, a gentle marking of mine, ours, safe. He felt Joshua hum in response, a low, pleased sound that vibrated against his chest. Joshua’s hand, resting over Jeonghan’s heart, flexed softly, digging in just a fraction.
“Morning, sleepyhead,” Jeonghan murmured, his voice still raspy with sleep. He pressed a soft kiss to Joshua’s hair, letting his lips linger, inhaling the unique, intoxicating scent that was purely Joshua.
Joshua burrowed deeper, a warm, heavy weight. “Mmmph,” he grumbled affectionately, not quite ready for full sentences. “Too early.” But his grip on Jeonghan tightened, a clear contradiction to his words. He was a natural nest-dweller, especially on mornings like these.
Jeonghan chuckled, the sound rumbling in his chest. “It’s past ten, Shua. The world is probably halfway through brunch by now.”
“The world can wait,” Joshua finally replied, his voice still muffled against Jeonghan’s skin. He lifted his head slightly, just enough to look up, his eyes, dark and soft with sleep, meeting Jeonghan’s. A lazy, sweet smile bloomed on his face. “You smell nice.”
“You do too, my love,” Jeonghan responded, rubbing his cheek against Joshua’s temple, deliberately scent-marking him again. He loved these quiet moments, the simplicity of their shared space, the undeniable pull of their bond. His Alpha felt utterly complete, utterly at peace, with his Omega curled so perfectly against him. “Feeling good?”
Joshua nodded, letting his head fall back onto Jeonghan’s chest. “So good. Just… warm. And safe. Don’t want to move ever.” He sighed contentedly, adjusting his position just slightly to press his bare leg more firmly against Jeonghan’s, seeking maximum skin-to-skin contact.
“Good,” Jeonghan affirmed, resuming his gentle stroking of Joshua’s hair. “We don’t have to. We can just… stay here. All day.” He let the words hang in the air, a silent promise. This was their sanctuary, their haven, and on days like this, the outside world ceased to exist.
A comfortable silence settled between them, broken only by their synchronized breathing and the occasional rustle of the sheets. Jeonghan’s mind drifted, enjoying the weight of Joshua, the warmth of his skin, the comforting rhythm of their bond. He loved seeing Joshua so relaxed, so utterly at ease in his presence. His Omega was usually so vibrant, so full of energy and meticulous plans, but in these moments, he was pure softness, pure contentment.
“What are you thinking about?” Joshua’s voice was a soft whisper against his chest, breaking the silence.
Jeonghan smiled, tightening his embrace. “Just… us. And how perfect this is. How much I love our lazy Sundays.” He paused, then continued, a new thought emerging. “And our future lazy Sundays.”
Joshua lifted his head again, a thoughtful look on his face. “Our future, huh?” He propped himself up on an elbow, looking down at Jeonghan, his jasmine scent swirling with curiosity. “What about it?”
“Everything,” Jeonghan said, reaching up to gently trace the line of Joshua’s jaw. “I was just picturing us, ten years from now. Still doing this. Maybe in a slightly bigger bed, if you finally let me buy that king-sized one you always pretend isn’t necessary.” He grinned playfully.
Joshua swatted his chest lightly. “Hey! Our queen is perfectly adequate. But… ten years. That’s a nice thought.” He leaned back down, resting his head on Jeonghan’s shoulder, looking up at the ceiling. “What else do you see?”
“Hmm,” Jeonghan mused, letting his imagination take hold. “A little garden, maybe. Nothing too big, just enough for some herbs and your favorite roses. You’d be out there fussing over them, probably still wearing my old oversized t-shirts.” He pressed a kiss to Joshua’s temple. “And the apartment would be filled with your art. Not just paintings, but… little sculptures, ceramic pieces. All the beautiful things you create.”
Joshua listened, a soft smile gracing his lips. His omega instincts, usually focused on nesting and immediate comfort, found deep satisfaction in Jeonghan’s vision of a stable, beautiful future nest. “And you?” he asked, looking up again, his eyes shining. “What would my Alpha be doing?”
Jeonghan pulled him closer, his scent softening further, a deep rumble of contentment emanating from his chest. “I’d be doing whatever makes you happy, my love. Being your Alpha, making sure our home is safe, and warm, and filled with everything you need. Supporting your art, listening to you talk about your day, cooking for you when you’re tired. Just… being here. With you.”
Joshua’s eyes welled up slightly, his jasmine scent pulsing with emotion. “That’s… that’s perfect, Alpha.” He snuggled in tighter, his voice thick. “I want that too. I want to travel with you, see the world, but always come back to our home. Always come back to you. I want to grow old watching you play silly games on your phone and making fun of me for being a neat freak.”
Jeonghan laughed, a rich, full sound. “You are a neat freak, my love. But it’s part of your charm.” He nudged Joshua’s cheek with his nose, scent-marking him with renewed tenderness. “And I want to see you teach. To see you inspire others with your creativity. To see you shine, always.”
“And maybe,” Joshua added, a little shyly, his voice softer, “maybe a couple of little ones running around?” It was a thought they had discussed before, a gentle, unspoken hope that sometimes surfaced in their quiet moments.
Jeonghan’s breath hitched, his Alpha stirring with a profound, instinctive protectiveness. He closed his eyes, picturing it – tiny figures, half Joshua’s jasmine, half his cedarwood, filling their home with laughter and chaos. “If that’s what my Omega truly desires,” he whispered, his voice deep with emotion, “then yes. A house full of your sweetness. Our family.” He ran his hand down Joshua’s back, pressing him close, a silent promise woven into his scent. “I’d be so proud to raise them with you, Shua. To build that life, that family, with you.”
Joshua sniffled, a tiny, happy sound. “Oh, Alpha,” he mumbled, burying his face in Jeonghan’s neck. “You always know just what to say.”
They lay there for a long time, bathed in the growing light of the morning, their scents intertwining into a thick, comforting blanket. The simple act of cuddling, the soft scenting, the quiet conversation about a future they both deeply desired, solidified the profound comfort of their bond. It wasn’t just physical attraction or shared affection; it was a deep, soul-level connection, an Alpha-Omega pairing built on unwavering love, trust, and a shared vision of a peaceful, joyful life together.
“I love you, Jeonghan-ah,” Joshua whispered, his voice laced with the kind of love that settled deep into Jeonghan’s bones.
“I love you more, Joshua-ya,” Jeonghan replied, pressing another kiss to his Omega’s head. “More than anything.” He tightened his hold, feeling Joshua sigh in contentment. This was their future, unfolding slowly, beautifully, one lazy Sunday morning at a time. And in the quiet comfort of their embrace, Jeonghan knew, with absolute certainty, that it was going to be magnificent.
