“Wonderful,” The Metatron said, his sudden change in tone making Aziraphale’s blood run cold. “That means that we’re also agreed that we cannot allow you to be down here anymore. Running too close to human touch has you tainted by a demon. We can’t have that, now can we?”
Aziraphale remained quiet. There was nothing to say to him. Nothing that could change anything. They knew. They knew about his relationship with Crowley. And apparently this relationship had brought about the life of a baby. Crowley’s baby. Tears filled his eyes.
“Of course not,” The Metatron answered his own question. “So, as you might imagine, your duties on Earth have been reassigned. Effective immediately.”
