Maya leant against Leliana as the campfire crackled, feeling the warmth on her skin. The others were talking, but Maya was content in silence. She found a certain peace in it. A sanctuary, surrounded by her friends and her love. Just them, and the outside world.
They had sat like this on many a night, and swapped stories of their lives, or tales they had heard, or all manner of other things. She thought this might be what home felt like. She had never felt so safe nor comfortable, for all that they were on the run from Loghain’s forces.
