What if the Cyan Alliance Found the Team Swap?

Summary:

In Episode 2 of Fans vs Favorites what if a member of the Cyan Alliance found the fated Team Swap Scroll? How would things change? How would things shake up?

Notes:

So I have a new comp fic, I had this What If idea since episode 2 aired but wanted to wait for more episodes before publishing it. And since we're a decent way through the Season I'd figured why not!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: On the Ropes

Chapter Text

“And the Fans win!” Emily announced as the Fan’s cart ran over the finish line.

The Fans burst into cheers while the Favorites all looked disappointed. Except for Benji who came over to his team with a smile and thumbs up.

“You won fishing gear and are safe from tonight’s elimination,” Emily continued as both teams made their way up to her. “Favorites what happened?”

“Someone gave a ten-year-old a machete.” Spencer responded immediately, glaring at Fiore as he did.

“Oh please, Rosa was the one who held us up,” Alec pointed out, earning a sweet smile from Fiore.

“And you didn’t push hard enough,” Anastasia retorted before crossing her arms. “If you wish to point fingers I got all day.”

“Well as much as I love pointing fingers you have elimination tonight, but first…” Emily began to announce with an excited smile. “Since you’ve all played this before a twist! Seeing you all played this game before hidden away at your camp is a scroll with a secret message. Good luck!”

---

Confessional Rosa Maria:

“Good thing Aiden made that Cyan Alliance.” Rosa laughed nervously. “That might save me.”

---

“So, we agree we need to find that scroll,” Fiore said as she and Alec separated from the team.

“Agreed whole heartedly.” Alec face went into a scowl. “I would prefer not using my advantage so soon after I got it.”

“You and me both…” Alec smiled and placed a hand on Fiore’s head.

“Don’t worry even if we don’t find it, I’ll make sure you’re safe.”

“I can handle myself.” Fiore rolled her eyes.

“I know.”

The two began their search along the beach and started looking between the various rock. Thankfully Fiore’s small hands made it easy for them to search everywhere. But still they were empty handed.

Anastasia also searched along rocks on the beach. Even being able to lift a few of them but still she couldn’t find anything.

“Do you think the scroll is a Steal a Vote or maybe an Extra Vote?” Benji asked as he and Ally began searching around the cabin.

“Not sure,” Ally paused before turning to Benji. “Hey I need to ask you something real quick.”

“Ask away!”

“What was with you sitting out today?” Ally raised an eyebrow.

“Oh that…” Benji rubbed the back of his head. “I was hoping to not cause any waves, that’s all.”

“Okay,” Ally looked at Benji a bit suspiciously. “Promise me you won’t make a habit out of that. I’ve been in way too many co-op games where a person is taken out for not being helpful.”

“I promise!” Benji smiled with a scout’s honor.

The scene changed to Gabby who ran over to a nearby cave. Eagerly gesturing for Tom to follow her in. The two began searching when Tom found something.

“Hmm think the drawings could be related?” Tom asked pointing to a drawing of a bat painted upon the wall.

“Like distant cousins?” Gabby grinned eagerly while Tom chuckled.

“You’re looking in the bamboo forest too?” Spencer asked upon seeing Natalia, who was tapping on a stalk of bamboo.

“Well duh.” Natalia rolled her eyes and kept searching.

“Humor me for a moment.” Spencer requested as Natalia turned to face the Brit. “Who would you rather have the scroll the Cyan Alliance or Anastasia?”

“What kind of question is that?” Natalia tapped her chin a little.

“But it does seem to have your interest.” Spencer smirked. “Between you and me Anastasia would be the better option. Though the Cyan Alliance has a five times likelihood of findinf and using it.”

“You got that right.”

---

Confessional Natalia:

“Truth be told the Cyan Alliance is mixed on me. Gabs and Tomas seem to like me a decent amount so them having the scroll wouldn’t be too bad.” Natalia smiled hopefully for a second before it faded. “Rosa and Lake are wild cards at best while Aiden…”

            Natalia shuttered a little.

“He would for sure use it against me cause how I cozied up with two of his besties.”

---

“Okay so we haven’t had any luck,” Aiden began explaining as he, Lake, and Rosa began walking. “But we need to meet with the others to discuss the vote.”

“Thankfully we have the majority,” Lake smiled. “It’s a higher chance one of us found it.”

“I bet Tom found it,” Rosa predicted. She turned to a nearby rock and started to lift it. “He could have just gone to a rock and lifted it. Like…”

Rosa gasped.

“Rosa, are you hurt?”

“No!” Rosa held up a scroll in her hand. “I found the scroll!”

“Don’t just stand there read it!” Aiden said eagerly.

“Let’s see it says…” Rosa’s eyes widened. “Oh…”

---

Confessional Rosa Maria:

            “This changes things. I think”

---

“Good news everyone!” Aiden announced as the Cyan Alliance, plus Benji and Ally, gathered together. “We found the scroll!”

“Oh yay!” Gabby cheered, clapping her hands together. “What does it say?”

“Rosa.”

Rosa nodded before unraveling the scroll again.

“Tonight’s elimination is a team swap,” Rosa explained. “Whoever is eliminated will join the Fans Team and send someone over to the Favorites.”

“Oh well I was dead wrong.” Benji rubbed the back of his head.

“Hmm guess we have to be careful with who we vote for then,” Ally bemused. “We don’t want someone who will send over a threat.”

“Maybe we could send one of us over!” Rosa suggested. “That way we can recruit some Fans to our side.”

“If it wasn’t after the second challenge maybe,” Aiden retorted before adjusting his necklace a little. “It’s too risky especially when we don't know how the fans play.”

“We could vote Alec,” Tom proposed. “Worst case scenario he sends over that Evie lady who got the advantage and we vote her out.”

“No too dangerous.”

“We could vote Natalia,” Benji requested.

“Oh, that’s not a bad idea,” Ally grinned widely. “She is a social player. Wouldn’t hurt to send her over to some fans who…”

“Probably love her!” Aiden rolled his eyes before turning to the alliance. “Our best bet is the safe vote of Fiore. She didn’t even know who Aubrey was, meaning she isn’t paying attention to them so probably won’t send over anyone dangerous. Plus, she’s a two-time player we got to think of how the Fans will react.”

“I still think Alec would be a better option.”

“Tom you just don’t want to be on the same team as him, admit it.” Gabby teased, nudging her bestie in the chest.

“You know how he gets under my skin Gabs!”

“I agree with Aiden,” Lake gestured to him and smiled. “Fiore can easily weasel her way through votes of people who don’t know or underestimate her game. But someone who watches the show wouldn’t do those things.”

“Same here,” Rosa agreed. “Better to take the safe route.”

“You’re in then I am also in!” Gabby gestured to the others before herself.

“As long as it’s not me.” Benji laughed nervously.

“Ally, we just need you.” Aiden looked at Ally cautiously.

“I see no problem with this plan.”

“Good!” Aiden put his hands together. “Then it’s settled we vote out Fiore!”

---

Confessional Benji:

“Was it just me or did Aiden forget to ask Tom if he was in on the plan?”

---

“Benji, Ally,” Spencer looked at the duo wide an eager grin. “Just who I was looking for follow me.”

Benji and Ally looked at each other and shrugged before following Spencer. The three of them went to the beach where everyone else on the team was gathered.

“Thank you everyone for coming,” Spencer began as he stepped on a large rock. “As you may know Aiden, Lake, Rosa, Gabby, and Tom have already formed an alliance with each other due to their past friendship known as the Cyan Alliance.”

“Well duh!” Fiore responded. “Anyone with a single functioning brain cell could see that coming!”

“As I was saying…” Spencer glared at Fiore before adjusting his glasses slightly. “I think it’s safe to assume what needs to be done. We have to vote one of them out tonight before they take control of the team and vote us out one by one.”

“So, we vote out Rosa?” Alec suggested. “She did cost us the challenge after all.”

“I am not doing that,” Anastasia glared at Alec. “If we voted based on challenge performance Fiore wouldn’t even last one vote.”

“Um the answer is obvious,” Natalia examined her nails a little. “Aiden is correct one to vote for. He connects Lake and Rosa to Tom and Gabby. Get him out what do the other duos have to connect them.”

“Smart move Natalia,” Anastasia gave an assuring smile which Natalia ignored.

“I agree with that.” Spencer came down from the rock.

“So, after we vote out Aiden, we become the new majority!” Benji said eagerly.

“Oh, Benji sweet, sweet innocent Benji,” Natalia playfully pinched his cheeks. “This is only a temporally alliance to prevent a Cyan Alliance steamroll, there are some here I would prefer to not work with long term.”

“Agreed…” Alec and Anastasia said simultaneously as they glared at each other.

“Ally you’ll vote with us right?” Spencer walked up to the gamer who looked at him nervously.

“I’ll consider it,” Ally answered, her face unmoving.

“Hmm fair enough.” Spencer turned towards everyone else. “I assume everyone will vote correctly tonight.”

---

Confessional Spencer:

“It seems tonight’s vote lands on Ally,” Spencer adjusted his glasses a little. “Thankfully she is one to play the game cutthroat, so I have faith in her."

---

“Welcome Favorites to the Elimination Ceremony!” Emily announced once the Favorites took their seats. “Same rules apply as the previous times you played. Simply write down the name of who want to be eliminated. So get to voting.”

“Bye Fiore!” Aiden rang as he placed his vote in the urn.

“Sorry Aiden, trans king,” Natalia said with a wink as she held up her vote. “But the king always falls before the queen!”

Rosa hummed to herself as she voted.

Fiore grinned as she voted

Benji voted nervously, carefully placing his vote in the urn.

Tom smiled as he voted

Alec remained expressionless as he voted.

Gabby pumped her fist in the air.

Anastasia looked back at the other campers before taking a deep breath and casting her vote.

Lake grinned placed her vote in the urn.

Spencer seemed unphased placing his vote in the urn.

Ally shook a little while voting, she tapped her chin before nodding and writing down.

“Alright Favorites,” Emily said holding the urn in her hands. “All votes have been in cast, before I began does anyone have a totem they would like to play?”

The Favorites all looked at each other, but no one budged.

“Alright then, I will now read the votes. First vote Fiore…”

Fiore rolled her eyes in annoyance.

“Second vote, Aiden…”

“What!” Aiden and Lake gasped simultaneously.

“Third vote, Fiore…”

Again, Fiore rolled her eyes, this time joined by Alec.

“Fourth vote, Aiden…”

Aiden crossed his arms glaring at his other teammates.

“Fifth vote Fiore…”

This time Fiore’s face fell a little.

“Sixth vote, Aiden…”

Lake placed her hands in a praying position while Aiden looked like he was putting the pieces together in his mind.

“Seventh vote, Fiore…”

“Come on Ally,” Spencer mumbled.

“Eighth vote, Aiden…”

“Come on Ally,” Aiden mumbled unaware Spencer had just done the same thing.

“Ninth vote Fiore…”

Fiore turned to Alec, who gave her an assuring smile.

“Tenth vote Aiden…”

Gabby and Tom looked at each other nervously.

“Eleventh vote, Fiore one vote left…”

Fiore started shaking a little

“Second person voted out of Disventure Camp is…”

Aiden turned towards Ally who remained stoic as Benji looked more nervous.

“Fiore!”

“No!” Fiore growled jumping from her seat.

“I’m so sorry Fiore…” Alec looked down in shame.

“Well good luck winning with the Cyan Losers running the show!” Fiore shouted to everyone else. “Alec crush them for me.”

“You know I will.” Alec hugged Fiore tightly before the little girl left.

---

Confessional Spencer:

“Seems like Aiden had some sway over Ally. Darn shame this game just got harder. Thankfully I won’t be giving up this easily. I played from the bottom before; I can do it again.”

Confessional Aiden:

“Good thing Ally has braincells,” Aiden wiped away some sweat from his forehead. “I don’t want to think on what would have happened if she flipped.”

Confessional Ally:

“Yes, I did vote with the Cyan Alliance.” Ally looked down for a second. “I did consider flipping but I wasn’t risking who ever Aiden was sending over. But I am not staying with the Cyan Alliance, if Benji is up for it we may have a decent spot as swing votes!”

---

“So curious about the scroll?” Emily asked as Fiore walked up to the boat. “Surprise it’s a Team Swap! You’re now the newest member of the Fans Team and will be sending one person over!”

“You mean I’m still in the game?” Fiore grinned eagerly.

“You bet.”

---

Confessional Fiore:

“Oh the Cyan Alliance won’t know what hit them!” Fiore rubbed her hands together. “I may not have paid much attention to the fans but I know someone with chaotic vibes when I see them…”

---

“Um hello anyone know why I’m…” Ara began asking before noticing Fiore standing in front of her. “Any reason why you’re here?”

Fiore didn’t respond just grinned eagerly.
