There’s humming in his kitchen, which is a bit concerning for a variety of reasons. The first of which being that he lives alone on the fifth floor and his door has two locks beyond the building lock itself. The second being that he’s not actually that surprised to hear it, and the third being that, despite he himself working at a grocery, he hasn’t managed to restock his cupboards in two weeks. He gives himself a few minutes to stare at the ceiling above his bed, tracing the long-memorized imperfections, before finally he decides he does actually have to deal with his intruder. Takes him a minute, he’s no spring chicken anymore, but eventually he manages to haul himself to his feet and find his glasses, trundling out to peek around the corner and into the tile.
Johnny barely manages to give him a glance and a grin over his shoulder, cheery as can be before he has to redirect his attention to the full stove of pans he’s running, “G’morning beautiful.”
