Chapter Text

Luke stumbles back into Tom, not paying attention to his surroundings. Tom grabs Luke to steady him, holding him close and wrapping his arms around the smaller man.

Tom plays into the look a little, giving Luke a full embrace from the back, resting his head atop Luke's for a moment.

But for some reason Luke's breath catches and his heart skips a beat for a moment, the feeling of Tom holding him warping his mind.

A strange feeling bubbles in Luke's chest, a soft flutter. But Luke quickly shuts it down, he can't show whatever this is in front of a full crowd of people.

So Luke plays it off, he is an improviser and actor after all. Luke reaches up to lay a hand against Tom's arm, playing into the moment.

Tom lets go and Luke clears his throat, also clearing his head, or well trying to clear his head.

Luke goes on as if nothing happened, and to the crowd and the others it might as well be nothing, it's not like something like this hasn't happened before. But Luke can't suppress whatever that strange feeling was..

It sticks in his mind even long through the show, and even after.

---

“Hey you guys wanna go to a pub?” AJ perks up, they don't usually go to bars after a show but today felt good enough.

Luke glances at the other 3, “I'm down.” He shrugs. Sam and Tom follow Luke's lead, both also agreeing to go.

Aj smiled, as good as friends as they all are they don't hang out enough outside of shows, AJ liked when they all got to.

—

Tom takes another swig from his glass, thinking. They needed one for the game for tomorrow's show and they've all put it off until now.

“Maybe letters? The audience always likes that one.” Pipes up from AJ, but Sam quickly dismisses it, “We did letters during the last two shows.” AJ frowns into his drink but goes back to thinking.

“How about pillars?” Comes from Luke, “We haven't done that in awhile.” Tom snaps his fingers and points at Luke, “Now that's a good idea, I'm in.”

Sam shrugs, “Yeah I'm down.” AJ doesn't say anything, he's pretty much happy to do any of the games.

A few more minutes pass, then an hour, then another. And by the time everyone is getting ready to leave it gets noticeable that Luke might have drank a little too much..

Sam glances at Luke, noticing the way He's all smiles and swaying slightly. Sam takes a step towards Luke, “Hey, you need us to walk you home?” He asks in a soft voice.

“Nah nah, im good, im fine, go on!” Luke reassures, but it's not good enough for Sam. Sam glances at the other two to try and get them to weigh in.

AJ clocks what Sam is trying to do so he joins in, “Maybe I should go with you, just in case.” He says with a soft slightly awkward smile.

“No! No! Really I'm fine, just go.” Luke says as he waves his hand assuring Sam and AJ away.

Sam sighs and looks at Tom who is standing behind Luke, trying to get him to help. To which Tom just points to Luke and mouths I'll follow him home.

That seems to be good enough for Sam and AJ so they say their goodbyes, grab their jackets, and head out for the night.

—

Tom throws his jacket over Luke's shoulders, “Luke, it's the middle of winter and you really didn't bring a jacket?” Tom's voice was laced with a bit of anger at the smaller man's idiocy, but his voice was still the soft gentle that it's always been.

Luke pulled the jacket around himself, tucking his arms into the way to large sleeves.

“It said it was going to be in the 50s!” Luke protests, as if that meant really anything.

Tom sighed, “yeah 50s during the day. It said 20s at night.” he points out.

Luke huffs before Tom nudges him, “you're home.” He smiles, pushing Luke so he walks towards his flat's door.

Luke fumbles with the doorknob for a second before finally getting it. He swings the door open, but before stepping in turning around to say bye to Tom.

He calls out to Tom who's already stepping away, “bye tall boy!” He calls out, getting Tom to turn around with a confused look on his face.

'Tall boy?’ Tom mouths, but shakes his head and drops it. “See ya Luke.” He smiles as he waves, walking back down the sidewalk to his own flat
