Chapter Text
[ You have reached all possible endings for < Living in a Fantasy World > ]
Looking at the bright screen in front of him. His room was dark, gloomy even. He doesn’t remember the last time he went out. Was it…■■ ago?
Right now, Han Goyo had finished a game from the Creator. And never in his life had he felt so much emotion. Joy from interacting with all the characters in the game, sorrow from gaining all endings of each role and having no more content to explore.
What was so different from this from the other game he had played? Simple. It was placed in an alternate universe. A fantasy one. All the characters from the Archives were placed in a fantasy world. The world that was harassed by trials didn’t exist in this game. In this game he had the freedom to choose which role he wanted to play, the mechanics were a bit similar to < Cell X >. The roles were as follows:
➤ Maid
[ A person that has been recently employed to serve under the royals of the kingdom! Continue to work to gain more presence in the castle! *You can also work for the Duke. ]
➤ Knight
[ A person that was recognised by one of the high ranking guards of the castle! The person that recruited you was so impressed by your skill and strength, they decided to bring you to work alongside the royals guard! One of the strongest people in the kingdom. *You can also work for the Duke. ]
➤ Medic
[ A person that had healed one of royal members! You had stumble upon a unconscious person and decided to heal them. Tada! That person was part of the royal family! You’re rich now. *You can also work for the Duke. ]
There were more roles but these were the one that Han Goyo had enjoyed playing as the most. Partly because in these roles he could interact with his favourites characters with ease.
Unlike in the Prince role, where the person wasn’t allowed to meet that many people, since they were the precious son of the king, they weren’t allowed to meet that many people, in fear of getting assassinated.
There was also another role.
The Villainess.
Han Goyo had played this role countless times.
The Villainess was one of the most troublesome roles in the entire game. She was a noble woman from one of the most powerful families in the kingdom, and depending on your choices, she could either become a respected noble, get exiled, or…
Die.
A lot.
But there was one thing about this role that made it different from the others. The Villainess was married to the Duke.
The marriage was arranged between their families when they were young. It was mostly for political reasons, but the game never really made it clear if the two actually hated each other or not.
Which was probably why there were so many endings involving the two. In maybe one or two endings the Duke would protect her and maybe fall in love with her. And in many endings he would betray her. And sometimes… it ended with the Duke executing her.
One particularly horrible ending involved the Villainess being publicly condemned as a traitor while her husband watched from the royal balcony.
He had obtained all of those endings. Hoping for atleast one ending where the villainess was truly happy.
[ ??? Ending Unlocked ]
[ The Villainess has reached the throne of the Gods. ]
[ Congratulations! ]
He read the words on the screen…but he couldn’t understand the meaning behind them.
“…What now?”
He felt a pang of sadness.
He looked at the bottom right of his screen. It was almost time for his favourite streamer to start broadcasting. Before he could even press on the notification that the stream was currently going live, he felt a wave of dizziness.
And something warm dripping down to his mouth.
?
He reached out to his mouth with his hand and wiped.
Oh.
It was blood.
He was about to grab some tissues but the moment he stood up, his legs gave up and he lost consciousness.
——— _(´ཀ`」 ∠) _ ———
He regained his consciousness. He sat up and looked around and realised that he wasn’t in his room. Right now he was in an unfamiliar forest.
He looked down on himself and found that the t shirt he was wearing was bloodied… was that from his nose bleed? How much did he bleed?
A system Window appeared in front of him.
[ You have acquired the role of a “God”! ]
[ Due to your current state, your divine authority has been restricted. ]
[ Current Rank: “Young God” ]
[ Therefore you do not have that many abilities. ]
[ You are currently too weak to exercise most divine functions. ]
[ Please grow. ]
[…]
[ You are quite weak. ]
[ Or don’t. ]
“What the.”
He stared at the window.
God?
Why the hell was he a god?
He didn't remember choosing that role. Heck he didn’t even remember that role in the game.
He had played the Villainess route right before — His eyes widened. Was the secret ending related to this? Before he could think about it any further, something rustled behind him. He quickly looked back.
!
It was a monster! A slimy figure with multiple tentacles coming out of its hideous body. But…That monster was from < Living in a Fantasy World >. Did he isekai in the game? Wait. Does this mean he can meet his Favourite characters?!?
‘Don’t get distracted.’
He could potentially die since this was quite a dangerous fellow. This monster was annoying to deal with because of its sticky skin and its multiple tentacles.
One of the tentacles flew towards him. Luckily, since he played this game lots, he knew its movements. He dodged with ease. But he wondered what he should do. Kill it? Or just run away.
As time went on, his body became tired.
There was a difference between clicking with a keyboard and a mouse and actually using your body to dodge. If he was currently using a keyboard and a mouse this would’ve been a breeze.
[ You think it’s best to register this being. ]
[ You wish to temporarily register ‘Mucky Slime Tentacles’ as a temporary character? ]
[ Yass / Nah ]
I hurriedly pressed on ‘Yass.’
[ You are aware that 'Mucky Slime Tentacles (Temporary)' will not spare the young God. ]
[ You are enraged by its lack of respect! ]
[ A suitable method comes to mind! ]
[ You want to check 'Execution.' ]
Another message appeared:
[ Execution ]
I press on ‘Execution’ without hesitation. I didn’t want to die now without meeting any of the characters!
[ Would you like to execute 'Mucky Slime Tentacles (Temporary)'? ]
Some Choices appeared.
- Yes.
-Execute!
-HELL YEAH!!!
He chose the option ‘HELL YEAH!!!’
[ Executing 'Mucky Slime Tentacles (Temporary)' ]
A cheerful melody rang out, a sound you would hear when you did an online test on a specific subject and answered all the questions correctly.
The sound of the tentacles one after the other exploding into golden light before scattering everywhere. It looked like stars shimmering. Its body crumbled into golden dust before disappearing.
“Citizen!”
He looked to his side to see a woman with short black hair and a familiar blue uniform… the uniform of the Royal Guards. Holding a gun directly aimed at his head.
‘This is bad… my first impression is really suspicious.’
He was currently wearing a shirt that was bloodied, his face probably also had blood. And he guessed that the other had seen him somehow kill a monster without touching it.
Han Goyo felt cold sweat on his back.
He couldn’t leave a terrible impression on any of the characters in this world!
And especially to one of his favs!
“Uhm—“
“Hey Captain Mo Haein! Did you get your ass kicked by a monster or you lazing off?”
A playful voice was heard from the inside of the forest.
The moment Mo Haein looked away, he took off sprinting.
He knew he couldn’t possibly outrun someone that was one of the Royal Guards in this game but hey, it’s good to try.
“Bind.”
In a blink of an eye, a long bead rosary was wrapped around his waist. And some handcuffs were on his wrist. Then a system window appeared in front of him.
[ Your current appearance has been recognised. ]
[ Identity confirmed. ]
[ Role: Villainess ( Young god ) ]
[ Current Marriage Status: Married ]
[ Spouse: Duke █████ ]
Han Goyo stared at the window in surprise.
“…What?”
He was the Villainess.
And that husband was the Duke. The same Duke who had killed her in several different endings. Even outside of the Villainess role, the villainess still had a bad ending.
‘Chat. Im so cooked.’
‘No!
‘Think about the pros!’
First of all, The Duke was Cha, the CEO of Pasung in the Archives, he was one of his favourite characters… so he wouldn’t mind being married to him.
But he was the Villainess.
The Villainess already had an unfavourable impression with almost everyone, including her own husband. Han Goyo knew this because he had played her route countless times. There were many endings where the Duke would betray her, abandon her, or execute her. But there were two endings where the Duke saved her.
In one of the two endings, the Duke would actually protect the Villainess from the nobles and everyone who wanted her dead. And somehow, after everything that happened between them, he would eventually fall in love with her. And the other ending ended with the Villainess leaving the other with no regrets.
But those two endings were extremely hard to get.
Han Goyo had spent hours trying to figure out the right choices. He had restarted the route more times than he could count, remembering every conversation, every decision and every little event that could change the relationship between the Villainess and the Duke.
But he eventually got those two endings where the Villainess was actually happy.
Han Goyo looked at the system window again while being tied down.
[ Role: Villainess ( Young God ) ]
[ Current Marriage Status: Married ]
[ Spouse: Duke █████ ]
He didn't really care about being a God.
Sure, it would be somewhat helpful. He somehow got the role of a God despite never remembering there even being a God role in the game, but he could think about that later.
Right now, there was something much more important. He had another chance to get the Villainess a happy ending.
[ Main Objective: Obtain a Happy Ending for the Villainess! ]
‘I can do this!’
“Hanmuk, knock him out.”
“Wait —”
He lost consciousness.
———
Kwak Hanmuk looked at the unconscious person in his arms.
“What was the Duchess doing here?”
Mo Haein, who was walking ahead of him, looked back.
“I don’t know but… he was suddenly able to make the Mucky Slime Tentacle explode in front of him.”
“What?”
Kwak Hanmuk looked down at the unconscious Duchess.
“Did the Duchess always have that kind of ability?”
“No.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m pretty sure.”
“Well, maybe he learned something new.”
Mo Haein gave him a look.
“He would have told everyone about it if he did.”
“Ah… yeah that’s true.”
He looked at the bloodied shirt the Duchess was wearing.
“Should we be more concerned about the blood?”
Mo Haein stopped walking.
“…Probably.”
The Duchess was covered in blood, had somehow killed a monster without touching it, and was currently unconscious.
“Let’s bring him to the Royal Castle.”
“The castle?”
“He needs to be treated first. We can figure out what happened after he wakes up.”
“Ah.”
Kwak Hanmuk adjusted the unconscious Duchess in his arms.
“Let's go before he wakes up and starts screaming.”
