Work Text:

Akane Aoi was in Teru Minamoto’s house. He was in Teru’s bedroom, to be precise. They were supposed to be discussing school council matters, but Akane was finding it a little hard to keep his eyes open. He had been sacrificing some of his sleep to keep up with school work. A little more than he’d’ve liked to admit actually.
‘You tired or something?’ Teru teased with an attractive grin, ‘We can take a break if you want.’
He shuffled the papers in his hands and neatly stacked them on the desk. Everything about him was so neat and perfect. From his perfectly made bed to his combed hair, Teru Minamoto really was something. It made Akane’s heart flutter just a little.
‘Play me something,’ Akane gestured to the violin stood in the corner. It was probably the only thing about Teru that wasn’t perfectly arranged and displayed. It had several strings which hadn’t been cut down to length and so were springing out of the top. There was a thin layer of rosin dust coating the body and a pile of shaded sheet music stacked under it. Akane had been eyeing the instrument since he entered the room. He never knew that Teru played an instrument. Teru smiled softly and warmly at the mention of his instrument. His expression looked slightly distant, as though lost in thoughts of music. He stood up and carefully lifted the violin from its stand. He coated the bow with rosin and breathed in softly, before beginning to play. The strings morphed to his will, with just about enough vibrato on the notes. Akane almost got lost in the beautiful yet sad song. It conveyed a sense of longing. Teru put the instrument down, fondly smiling at it.
‘What song is that? I’ve never heard it before,’ Akane asked, his eyes shining with wonder. Teru was truly exquisite at the violin. Not just his technique, but the emotion in each bow. If Akane had been a lesser man, he would’ve cried.
‘Oh it’s just one of my own compositions,’ Teru said, softly, almost shy.
‘It was beautiful. I never knew you were so good at the violin,’ Akane replied in awe.
‘Th-thank you,’ Teru said, with an almost undetectable tremor in his voice. It made Akane soften further. Even if he looked and played like an angel, he was still a human.
‘Kou plays the cello, sometimes we play together,’ Teru continued. Akane couldn’t tell whether the blush on Teru’s cheeks was from embarrassment or something else.
‘I play the piano, though I’m nowhere near as good as you. We should play together some time,’ Akane said, subconsciously smiling at the thought of playing with someone so amazing. So radiant.
‘D’you wanna listen to a record?’ Teru asked, already thumbing through his small collection. He pulled out a black disc from its sleeve. He placed it onto the record player and carefully angled the needle in place. The music began to play gently. Not too quiet or too loud. Teru came back and sat on the bed. The gentle feel of the album relaxed the pair.
Akane felt warm and safe, unusual for him. He had never considered himself friends with the council president, and here they were. Teru made him feel a strange kind of way that he couldn’t really understand. He guessed that was what all his fans were on about. Then again, they had only seen his mask. Sure, he was attractive. Anyone could admit that. But, Akane felt like he knew him a little better than that. Teru fixed his icy blue eyes on Akane, giving Akane chills. Those eyes. They were deep, yet shallow at the same time. Shining, cool pools that Akane couldn’t help but enter. Couldn’t help but get lost in. Teru had the same distant smile on his face. Then, he looked away, freeing Akane from his hypnosis. Rain had begun to splash against the window, heavy rain. The sky grew slightly darker.
Gently, carefully, Teru slid his hand towards and into Akane’s. Teru knew Akane better than anyone else that wasn’t his family. He liked him a lot and trusted him even more. Despite his usual self-assured nature, Teru flushed even pinker at the feel of Akane’s warm hand. Teru’s own hands were always icy cold. Akane smiled at Teru’s tough fingertips. A sign of hard work. A sign of a practiced violin player. Teru definitely was that. Teru smiled at Akane's black nails. They were neatly covered, which Teru knew took some effort. Then, Teru sniffed softly. His eyes were wet and he shook a little with each breath. He quickly brushed his tears away. Teru turned back towards Akane.
‘I- I think I love you,’ He hesitated, ‘Akane.’
Akane smiled, a stark contrast to Teru’s broken expression.
‘I love you too,’ he admitted. He had kind of been meaning to say it for a while. Akane took his glasses off and rested them on the side table. He slowly leaned in to Teru, who took the initiative and closed the gap between their lips. Teru tasted of ginger and cinnamon. Akane went back in, craving the warmth of Teru’s lips.
‘Please,’ Teru begged, placing his hands on Akane’s warm cheeks, ‘I need you.’
Akane smiled, holding back his own tears. He kissed Teru harder this time, allowing his lips to part and Teru’s tongue to slip into his mouth. Even Teru’s lips were soft and gentle. This made up for every time Teru had tied him up or teased him. Teru loved Akane and Akane loved Teru. It was so complex yet so simple. Akane understood Teru’s lips. They spoke a language of their own. Teru lowered his hands down to hold Akane’s waist. A futile attempt at holding all of him at once. They slowly lowered onto the bed, lying on top of each other and rolling around aimlessly. Akane was very familiar with the taste of Teru’s mouth at that point. They never took their clothes off. They didn’t need to, not yet anyway.

Akane woke as the soft light of the sunset flooded between his blinds. It lit Teru’s soft features nicely. Akane gave Teru a small peck on the forehead, causing his long, blonde eyelashes to flutter.
‘Akane,’ Teru acknowledged, his voice still slightly low with sleep.
‘Now, since when were we on first name basis?’ Akane asked teasingly.
‘M’sorry,’ Teru yawned. He was cute when he was sleepy.
‘No it’s okay Teru,’ Akane said his name softly.
They were still in their clothes from yesterday and, Akane was just realizing, had not done any work on the council paperwork. Teru dragged himself out of bed and went to the bathroom to put on a new pair of clothes. He looked hot like that. Heck, he always looked hot. Akane still couldn’t quite believe he had bagged the so-called ‘King of School’. Teru, looking beautiful as ever, leaned forward and kissed Akane.
‘You taste of toothpaste,’ Akane said.
‘I just brushed my teeth,’ Teru said.
