“The hypnosis isn’t working,” Henry grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest as he gave his formal complaint to the resort manager.
“It’s not hypnosis,” the man explained patiently for the upteenth time during Henry’s stay. “It’s guided meditation, and it’s meant to help you relax.”
Henry huffed.
“Well, it’s still not working,” he said.
The Manager had to hold back from rolling his eyes.
The resort had a huge selection of services that clients could choose from to help them relax during their stay, from the humid steam rooms to the 24-hour deep tissue massage beds and attentive staff always waiting on them hand and foot. The guided meditations were a new addition and they had a relatively simple set up. A trained staff member would read a relaxing script while a client lay in sensory deprivation and a haze of incense. It wasn’t true hypnosis, but it could have a hypnotic effect.
