Work Text:
"My Pandora's Box"
It was a normal day, like any other,
Thoughts floating through my mind, one after another,
And then one slipped and opened the gates,
That were to be closed, of the deepest estates.
Now they are all out, like Pandora's Box,
And it'll be a while until the gate gets some new locks,
So until then, my heart is full of screams
About unspoken wishes and lingering dreams.
Today I find myself wanting; wanting you.
I know, I feel that every day, it's nothing new.
But today, it's being stronger than usual,
It's not just working in the background, it's visual.
I want you; I crave you. A bit of your time.
To be able to hear you, I would pay any dime.
I just miss your voice, my dearest star;
And I have my memories, but they'll never be on par.
I look at our picture that decorates my screen,
At the way you smile; I remember the scene,
And when this one doesn't feel like enough,
I look at the rest, even if there's not that much stuff.
But no matter how long I can be looking at these,
Nothing will replace the real thing, or the ease
In which you talk and move and are so alive,
Whenever on a video, when managed to go live.
All my heart wants right now, and I'm not going to lie,
Is to ask when we can spend some time, when we can try;
But I just... I cannot be asking you that.
No matter how much I want to have your time, to chat.
I know you'd love to find a moment for it too.
I know what's going on, I know it's hard to do.
I know it all, and yet the reason doesn't work today,
So before it explodes, I'm putting it out here, on display.
