“I thought you wanted to get back out there.” He shoves at his shoulder lightly. “Meet people, pretty girls,” he adds, voice tilting on the last part like it’s supposed to be enticing.
“No,” Eddie counters. “You said that.”
“Well the pretty girls aren't for me. They're for you.”
Eddie shakes his head, frustration creeping into his voice, though there’s no real heat in it. “I don’t want the pretty girls, Buck.” Buck’s face twists with confusion, eyebrows drawing together like he’s trying to solve a puzzle. Before Eddie can stop himself, he hears his own voice say, “I've got a pretty girl right here.”
