Work Text:
John watches as his zombie of a boyfriend stumble down the stairs, lured by the scent of freshly brewed coffee.
"Good morning, sunshine," John greets his boyfriend entirely too cheerfully.
With as much energy he can muster, which is admittedly not much this early in the day, Sherlock rolls his eyes and pushes John out of the way to get to the coffee pot.
"Hey!" John protests without any real venom.
"Coffee," Sherlock mumbles, as if that explains everything.
"Good to know where your priorities lie," John sniffs.
"I can't appreciate you if I'm not awake enough," Sherlock points out.
John had heard worse logic than that, so instead of arguing, he brushes a quick kiss to Sherlock's cheek.
"Ready?" he asks once Sherlock has consumed what he wagers is a sufficient amount of caffeine.
Sherlock smiles and kisses John back. He confirm, "Always."
