In the 1880s, in Montana, Vander and Silco run the Pont-de-Fer Ranch, an estate that is as prosperous as it is threatened. Greed drives a neighboring landowner to encroach upon their land, while the estate is plagued by cattle theft and a growing threat.

Taken in by the couple years earlier, Jayce is a cowboy consumed by anger, grief, and guilt. He tries to reclaim his life, but the arrival of Viktor, a veterinary surgeon marked by years of survival and loss, upsets this fragile balance.

As the noose tightens around the ranch and the secrets of the past resurface, Jayce and Viktor discover what true love really is.
