Summary
Conner just graduated into unemployment after the company that had offered him a job shut down. He’s resigned himself to a summer of job application drudgery when his friend Ryan has a solution: work as a giant performer at Giant/Tiny World for the summer just like Ryan had the year before.
After hearing that he’d get a thousand dollars per shift, Conner immediately says yes. What Ryan doesn’t tell him is that he won’t be operating one of the rides.
He’ll be the ride.
(There is one scene with unaware/accidental watersports in Chapter 6, which can be skipped if desired.)
