“Are you trying to scare me out of wanting to die?” Red asks, mouth parting.
A disbelieving laugh falls past her lip, all puffing air and painfully scraping against her sore throat. The idea of anyone thinking she, Red of Hearts, the Queen of Hearts daughter, doesn’t know the exacting details of what happens to a person after death, is hilarious.
