“jooooohn!” jaehyun calls, trying to keep the humiliation from bleeding into his voice.
if johnny senses that something is amiss, he doesn’t speak on it.
“yeah, babe?” he calls back, voice echoing down the stairs.
this time, it’s harder for jaehyun to not sound troubled. “can you come downstairs, honey? i need your help.”
at that, only seconds pass before jaehyun hears the familiar rhythm of johnny’s footsteps descending the staircase.
“jaehyun?” he calls, wandering into the living room. “baby, where are you? everything o—…”
johnny stops in his tracks. jaehyun sees his slippered feet come to a screeching halt just shy of the couch, and he bites his lip and screws his eyes shut, the heat of embarrassment pluming through him, rendering his ears at least a hundred degrees each.

jaehyun sighs, shoving his face into the rug, prompting his voice to come out muffled.
