Chapter Text
t was supposed to be a quiet day at the Endeavor Agency.
The three interns—Shoto Todoroki, Izuku Midoriya, and Katsuki Bakugo—had just begun their morning patrol with Endeavor, the Number One Hero.
The streets were unusually calm.
There were fewer villains than usual, fewer emergencies, and hardly any reports coming through the police radios.
For once, it almost felt peaceful.
Almost.
They all knew better than to let their guard down.
The League of Villains was still out there.
Bakugo, apparently, was the first one to remind everyone of that.
“Move, you damn extras!” he shouted, walking ahead of the others. “Or that old man is going to surpass us again!”
Midoriya sighed.
“Kacchan, you don't have to yell this early in the morning.”
“Shut up!”
Todoroki looked around the quiet streets.
“Actually, Midoriya is right. There doesn't seem to be much happening today.”
Bakugo turned toward him.
“Don't jinx it, Icy-Hot.”
Todoroki simply stared at him.
“I wasn't.”
Midoriya couldn't help but smile slightly.
Despite Bakugo's constant shouting, the three of them had gotten used to working together.
They continued walking behind Endeavor, who had stopped to speak with a couple of police officers about a criminal he had apprehended earlier.
The three interns took the opportunity to relax for a moment.
Bakugo and Todoroki began discussing something while Midoriya listened quietly, occasionally adding a comment.
Then—
Something tugged at the back of his costume.
Midoriya froze.
He turned around.
A little boy stood behind him.
He looked about six years old.
His cheeks were wet with tears, and his expression was terrified.
“You're a hero, right?”
Midoriya immediately crouched down to the child's height.
“Yeah. I'm a hero-in-training. What happened?”
The boy sniffled.
“My mommy…”
Midoriya's expression softened.
“Where is she?”
“She’s in an alley. She isn't feeling well.”
The child pointed toward a nearby street.
“Please… can you help her?”
Midoriya glanced over his shoulder.
Bakugo and Todoroki were still talking.
Endeavor was still speaking with the police.
Nobody seemed to have noticed the child.
Midoriya hesitated.
He knew he shouldn't leave the patrol without telling anyone.
But the child looked terrified.
And if his mother really was injured, every second could matter.
“I'll be right back,” Midoriya whispered.
He stood up and followed the child.
The alley wasn't far.
At least, that's what Midoriya thought.
They kept walking.
One street.
Then another.
Midoriya slowly began to frown.
Something didn't feel right.
He looked behind him.
The agency was already far away.
Too far away.
“Um… where exactly is your mother?”
The child didn't answer.
Midoriya stopped walking.
“We've gone pretty far from the patrol.”
The boy slowly turned around.
And smiled.
“Gotcha.”
Midoriya's eyes widened.
“What—?”
The child's body suddenly began to melt.
His skin transformed into something resembling mud before the entire disguise collapsed.
Midoriya immediately recognized the Quirk.
“Twice…”
A voice laughed from somewhere behind him.
“Bingo!”
Midoriya spun around.
Figures emerged from the shadows.
One after another.
Shigaraki.
Toga.
Dabi.
Twice.
And the rest of the League of Villains.
Midoriya's heart dropped.
“No…”
He immediately turned around, looking for an escape route.
Nothing.
Every exit was blocked.
He was surrounded.
Shigaraki stepped forward with a sinister smile.
“Well, well…”
His eyes settled on Midoriya.
“Izuku Midoriya.”
Midoriya instinctively activated One For All.
Green lightning crackled around his body.
He needed to escape.
He needed to warn the others.
Before he could move—
Something struck the back of his head.
Hard.
Midoriya stumbled forward.
“Gah!”
His vision blurred.
Toga stood behind him, smiling.
“Aww, why are you trying to leave so quickly?”
Midoriya tried to turn around, but his balance was already failing.
“Get away from me!”
Twice laughed.
“Yeah! It's bad! It's really bad!”
Then he pointed at Midoriya.
“But you've gotta admit, the kid did a pretty good job!”
Dabi stepped closer.
“You walked right into the trap.”
Midoriya tried to activate One For All again.
Nothing.
His body was already struggling to keep up.
Something grabbed his arms.
Another pair of hands seized his legs.
He fought desperately.
“Let me go!”
Toga tightened her grip.
“Stop struggling.”
Midoriya kicked and twisted, desperately trying to break free.
He had to get back.
Bakugo and Todoroki would notice eventually.
Endeavor would notice.
Someone would notice.
They had to.
But his vision continued to blur.
His head felt heavy.
His strength was disappearing.
Dabi crouched beside him and placed a cloth over his face.
Midoriya tried to hold his breath and pull away, but he couldn't.
His movements became slower.
The voices around him began to sound distant.
“Don't worry…”
Shigaraki's voice was the last thing he clearly heard.
“We'll take good care of you.”
Midoriya's eyes slowly closed.
His body went limp.
“Good,” Shigaraki said with a smile.
“We can go now.”
Dabi lifted Midoriya onto his shoulder.
The League disappeared into the alley, taking him with them.
Behind them, Midoriya's phone lay broken on the ground.
No signal.
No way to call for help.
And back on the patrol route, nobody had noticed that one of the three interns was missing.
For now, the League had exactly what they wanted.
And somewhere in the darkness, unconscious and completely alone, Midoriya could only hope that someone would realize he was gone…
before it was too late.
