It was the worst day of his life. A meteorite could have crashed down well, okay, let's just hope it didn't kill anyone. Aliens? Eh... we'd just pacify them. But no for the love of all the gods it was a nation that had appeared out of nowhere, starting to kidnap members of the Order of the Black Knights. Who do they think they are?
Suzaku had spent the day going from one meeting to the next, listening to Kallen... and who else? Pfft, it didn't matter. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. He had a life, after all ; he had to look after the love of his life and who knows what else.
He had even sworn to himself that the next person to speak to him without thinking twice might well end up six feet under. Being Zero wasn't easy ; how had Lelouch managed to endure it?
It wasn't a big deal ; he just had to send a letter—handle a bit of paperwork. "Zero... you need to file this report before heading to your quarters." That was the only warning he’d received before being handed a stack of documents. Seriously, Kallen?
A report on what? Seriously, did his very existence hinge on something so trivial? Was he there to find out who they had abducted? Or was he there to find out who had done the kidnapping? Oh well. It didn't matter ; he was just going to put his things away and go lounge in his beanbag chair.
After walking down a corridor long enough say, 12 kilometers to surprise absolutely no one, Suzu settled into his comfortable beanbag chair. Everything seemed normal, save for Lelouch’s intense stare. Did he find him particularly irresistible tonight? What a letdown! (That’s a lot of question marks, though.)
Lulu positioned himself right next to Suzaku before asking with the sort of calm concern any sensible person would show "Ehh... Suzaku, are you okay? It’s getting late, and you haven't eaten yet." Suzu’s reply came out heavier than he’d intended. "So what?"
Lelouch took a deep breath to keep himself from doing something he will not regret. "Suzaku, when was the last time you ate?" Suzu sank his head slightly into the beanbag before starting a battle he couldn't possibly win. "Enough not to die."
Lulu remained silent for a good while before wrapping his arms around Suzaku, trying his best to comfort him. If he had wanted to die so badly, he could have just asked Lelouch ; Lelouch would have gladly obliged. Had he really sunk so low as to comfort someone whose fate meant so little to him? At least Suzu seemed happy enough.
Using his usual, gentlest tone, Lulu decided to play a game of chess with the devil: "Suzu... You know... I've been a bit bored lately. The TV only shows national channels, so... I was wondering if you might lend me your computer now and then? ...Please?" He asked so sweetly. How could anyone resist? Yet, this was precisely the sort of thing that might well lead to his undoing ?
