The ultimate guide

Summary:

The psychology of unrequited love , based on the example of a day in Lelouch's life .

Notes:

At last, Lulu has a work all to himself.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

{ Love is the result of wonderful events whether mutual or not. }

It was a Saturday morning. It was raining heavily ; Lelouch quite liked the rain, whereas Suzaku claimed the opposite. It was the one natural thing they couldn't agree on. Saturdays.

One of the days of the week Lulu had come to loathe. He would always wake up around 8 a.m. and drift along the walls like a ghost. Even though he knew the place well by now, he often bumped his head. May the walls forgive his clumsiness.

{ Love can be split in two: one part platonic, the other romantic. }

Fortunately, the bathroom had a bathtub ; lately, he had been more drawn to that than a standard shower. He enjoyed lounging in it , it was quite soothing, provided one ignored Suzaku's incessant complaints. Things like:

"Lulu, you've been in this bathtub for three decades."

"Yes, and then..."

"Isn't the water cold?"

"No. It's warmer than body temperature."

"Do you pay the bills too?"

"Don't pretend you pay the bills out of your own pocket."

Now you know where the taxes go.

{There's always a fine line between love and obsession.}

The room was rather stylish. A large bed with slightly magenta sheets, beige carpeting, a wardrobe made of pine wood that contrasted with everything else. At least style was the only thing you couldn't fault Suzu for. For now.

{When you reach the stage of obsession, that line turns into a long, deep chasm."}

And most importantly. The pillows. They were soft and well-filled. Lelouch would have loved to strangle Suzaku with it; too bad he always falls asleep first. Besides, Suzaku has to study before going to sleep.

After getting comfortably dressed, it was lunchtime. Was he hungry? No. Was he going to eat those croissants with raspberry coulis and a steaming cup of tea? No. But would that food even end up in his digestive system? Yes. It wasn't his fault he wasn't hungry. The most worrying thing is that he feels like he's stopped aging ; maybe it's just his imagination.

{ People claim that all you have to do is take a deep breath and flash a big smile. }

Oh. Television. Had Suzaku subscribed to "Homeland or Nothing" to end up with such a limited channel selection? Personally, I’d jump out the window rather than listen to the news , news, and nothing but news.

Channel 1: Inner development.

Channel 2: Domestic and foreign policy.

Channel 3: Illegal immigration.

Channel 4: How to promote national pride.

Channel 5: National holiday.

Channel 6: National budget.

At this point, the walls would have preferred to flee rather than be nailed there for a lifetime.

So, how did Lulu spend his days? Well... he scribbled on paper. At first glance, it looked like random lines scattered about; but if you looked closely, it resembled a blueprint. Perhaps of the house.

The first sketch wasn't exactly a success. He had to erase things more than three times per sheet and as you might expect, the paper always ends up tearing.

{ As if a deep breath could solve anything. }

At least this Saturday was going to be less depressing. He had access to Suzaku's computer. What can you do with a computer, given Lelouch's mindset?

{ The best thing to do is run far away. But the kind of place you should flee to depends on the psychology of your obsessed partner. }

First, switch to private browsing mode.

Second, choose a location that isn't crowded.

Third, go to Google Maps.

Fourth, map out the exact route.

And finally...

{ The only thing any sensible person can do for you is wish you... }

Notes:

I promised a longer one, but since it's 600 words... promise received ?

If something is wrong, you can send me a comment.

I feel sorry for Lelouch. Suzaku in the morning, Suzaku at noon, and Suzaku again in the evening.
