Three Bodies, One Soul

Summary:

I shook the thought away when looking down at my sternum, and sure enough, right next to my heart, was a Shin-kal. Did the girls change their mind? Do they not want me anymore?

My ears start to ring and the world around me starts to fade to black. I try to fight it, I really do. I can’t let the demons around me get to Zoey and Mira even though they changed their mind about me.

The world starts to fade to black and I draw in my final breath as I hear rushing pairs of footsteps towards where I lie.

Chapter Text

It was supposed to be just another night: get home (home, that’s a funny word isn’t it? Especially for someone who isn’t even sure what home looks like to them) from their last show from their Comeback Tour in Seoul, wind down by getting into their comfy sleepwear and relaxing on their notorious couch, and watch Zoey’s favorite Turtle Documentaries like they always do when they’re getting ready to sleep the day away and all of their fans’ excitement with it.

But no. It’s never just a normal night for the well-known kpop group, Huntr/x.

It had started off as it regularly would for the three soulmates.

“Ruummiii have you even calleddd the car yettt??” Zoey whined loudly. “Yeahh Rumii, when’s the car cominggg” Mira complained just as loudly, if a little louder. “Girls relax, Bobby said that the car is almost here.” The half-demon responded.

“God I love that man, he deserves a raise.” The pinkette acknowledged.

A couple minutes later the car had finally arrived, just like Rumi (and Bobby) promised.

“Guys guys guys look!! The car is finallyyyy here!!” Zoey exclaimed as she started to dart to the car before another else had the chance. Mira chuckled deeply before lowly responding so that only Rumi could hear her response “Fuck she’s so cute when she’s excited. I love her so much, both of you.” Rumi could hear the smile in her voice even though she couldn’t see the pinkette’s face.

“I love you too, both of you” Rumi replied just as lowly before heading over to the car where their third remains waiting.

It was just a short drive to their penthouse, really, but they were all just so exhausted from their show that the purplette ended up falling asleep on Mira’s lap.

“Awww she’s so cute!! Don’t move, I need to take a million pictures!!” Cooed Zoey while she pulled out her phone. Mira smirked as an idea popped in her head.

“Hey Zoey, tell me when you’re ready for the picture, okay?”

“Okay..!”

“3…2…1…”

“Oh my god Mira that was adorable!!”

The pinkette had a smirk on her face when she strained her neck to see the photo and sure enough, there it was, she was kissing Rumi on her lips while the latter was peacefully sleeping.

They’ve been dating for almost six months now, ever since the...That night. Mira still can’t believe how lucky she is, the two most important people in her life (the two girls who are bounded to her soul and hers just the same to theirs) wanted her not only to stay in the band and continue Huntr/x, but also wanted to have a relationship (Mira doesn’t know how she got so lucky with her new-found family.)

After only about a fifteen minute drive from the venue to the penthouse, they were finally home.

Mira and Zoey had decided against waking up their third, instead, the former chose to bring her upstairs herself with the muscles that they have gained and earned over the years of being idols and demon hunters.

They had some trouble, but they were able to manoeuvre the purplette out of the car and into their personal elevator while Zoey was talking about how excited she was to watch her new-found Turtle Documentaries in a hushed down voice to not wake their fearless leader.

Their elevator only took about three minutes but it was the longest three minutes of Mira’s life due to the deadweight sleeping away in her arms growing heavier and heavier by the second.

They were able to deposit their sleeping soulmate and start getting snacks before it happened.

Red and pink waves washed over their precious Honmoon without a care in the world.

“Demons.” Mira spat out. (Mira may be dating a half-demon, but that doesn’t mean that she has to love all demons. Only one.)

Rumi shot up off of the couch when she felt the Honmoon being torn by their enemies. Rumi hadn’t realized where she was when she woke up so she started to fall towards their carpeted floors.

“Rumi!!” Zoey shouted as she sprang into action: running from the kitchen, hopping the couch back with such precision that it was questionable, and landing behind the former with her arm around her waist to help balance her.

Mira was already rushing towards the elevator when the commotion happened so she couldn’t do much as breath a sigh of relief for their leader being safe from the horrors of falling on her face.

Rumi looked sheepishly at Zoey “...sorry”

“Don’t sweat it! Now, let's go fight demonsss!!” Zoey countered Rumi’s shy apology.

They were running towards where they’re sure that the tear is (in an alleyway, one of the demons’ favorite places to create chaos) when they were starting to notice that their fearless leader was falling back a little bit when she normally was in front of the other two.

“Rumi!” Mira called out behind her while trying to keep up her steady pace while worrying about the former.

“I’m here!” Rumi called back, unknown to what was happening around her due to her being sort of out of it ever since she woke up in a daze.

Mira and Zoey both shared a look and a private conversation while running still, they could tell they were almost at the tear and they needed Rumi to be at her best and alert while fighting.

Zoey fell back a little bit just as Mira did, sandwiching Rumi in between them while keeping their pace as they were getting closer and closer to the threat happening in the clueless streets of Seoul.

“Hey Aegi, we’re almost at the tear and we need to know if you can handle this. We can tell that you’re still a little tired so we just-” Zoey was cut off as a trashcan was barreling through the air at them.

“Argh! They’re over there!” Mira shouted to her soulmates as she pulled out her Gok-do from the Honmoon, ready to defend her and her girlfriend’s peace that was just damaged from the demons.

“I see them!” Zoey exclaimed before she pulled out her Shin-kals from the very same Honmoon, ready to help Mira take these demons down!

They both heard a third swoosh of wind and they knew that Rumi had gotten her Sain-geom from the Honmoon, that at this very moment needed their help with restoring the peace that once was.

Mira and Zoey both decided that Rumi could handle her own for now and if she becomes any more tired then that will change and they will have to help their third.

The first thing that they noticed from their leader in this fight was that she wasn’t singing any of their songs, or any at all in that matter. She was silent other than the grunts of frustration coming from her mouth because these demons just won’t die.

The second thing that they noticed from their leader was her irregular sloppy movements. The girls (her girls) watched from time to time while trying to hold their own and what they saw scared them a little: Rumi, with her Sain-geom, swinging perfectly around her to strike down one of the many demons surrounding her. But Rumi missed.

The third and most frightening thing that they had noticed before everything had gone to hell was one of Zoey’s Shin-kals flying towards where the demon was, except now Rumi was where that demon once was.

“Rumi!!!” Zoey gasped out loud enough for Mira to hear but not enough for the half-demon.

I thought I had heard my name in the chaos of everything but I must’ve just been imagining it. God I wish I had slept more before fighting otherwise I wouldn’t be this god damn tired. The girls always say that I overwork myself and I just need to relax from time to time, which I agree to an extent. We have a duty to complete, even if the girls don’t want to anymore because of what I am.

I started to do my signature move on these demons when something hit me. A demon? How did a demon hit me? Wait no...demon claws don’t burnburnburn and eateateat at my demon blood.

There is only three things on this world that could possibly have this effect on my patterns...that means-

I shook the thought away when looking down at my sternum, and sure enough, right next to my heart, was a Shin-kal. Did the girls change their mind? Do they not want me anymore?

My thoughts were interrupted by the screamingburningkilling feeling from the patterns where the Shin-kal had hit.

Blood started to pool on the floor underneath their third as the purplette was just staring at the Shin-kal in her chest with a far-away look in her eyes.

They could feel a part of their soul being ripped away and it hurtshurtshurtsmakeitstop.

They could only watch as their third slumps to the ground in a pile of blood, her blood

“RUMIII!!” Wailed Zoey, or was it Mira?

All I could feel was pain. Pain everywhere. I only felt as my body collapsed into itself into something..warm? Why was there a body underneath me and why is it wet...?

Oh.

I’m the only one here, other than demons. But that’s all I am, aren’t I? Just another demon. Zoey and Mira obviously think so, even with all of their reassurances in these past months saying otherwise.

My ears start to ring and the world around me starts to fade to black. I try to fight it, I really do. I can’t let the demons around me get to Zoey and Mira even though they changed their mind about me.

I try to breathe, really, I do, but I just can’t. No air is getting into my lungs! NonononoIcan’tgolikethis.

The world starts to fade to black and I draw in my final breath as I hear rushing pairs of footsteps towards where I lie.
