Summary
AU where Harry and Hermione are childhood friends and aware of the magical world. At 6 years old they have a pretend wedding in Hermione's backyard. Magic itself has its own ideas and the wedding ends up not being so pretend after all. The adults don't find out until almost 5 years later. Everyone has to decide how this will be handled in short term and long term.
Inspired by this prompt from Harmony & Co's Prompt Bank:
Pre-Hogwarts. Harry is 6, Hermione is almost 7. They grew up close neighbors and in a fit of childish pique, decide to get “married.” The wedding is attended by their favorite plushies and by a couple of friends. One of the Potter elves officiates. The parents think it’s the cutest thing in the world, even magic is giggling.
Cut forward to when they get their Letters to Hogwarts and find out that magic wasn’t giggling from childish amusement but from the long term prank it just pulled on the wizarding world.
Hilarity ensues…
