Summary
Ellie Douglas thought she knew what danger looked like.
After years spent studying the Sigil Slayer and helping put Glenn Boyd behind bars, she believed she understood the psychology of the man who had nearly destroyed her life. What she never expected was for the real danger to come disguised as someone she trusted.
When Ellie discovers that Julian Duffy isn’t who he claimed to be, everything she thought she knew begins to unravel, and the truth is far more terrifying than she could have imagined.
Some of this follows the events of the actual movie pretty closely, but I wanted to expand on the scene where Ellie discovers Julian’s true identity and explore her psychological reaction to the betrayal a little more.
I found that part of the movie so psychologically fascinating and wanted to delve deeper into what it might actually feel like to realise that the person you trusted most was never who you thought he was.
