    Carl looks into the Eye of the Bedlam Bride -- and wakes up in the snow outside his apartment.

    Bea is gone. Donut is an ordinary cat. The buildings are still standing.

    For about thirty seconds.

    Carl remembers everything. The crawl. The floors. The people he lost. Mordecai. Mongo. The monsters, the bosses, the sponsors, the lies, and all the horrible little tricks waiting below.

    Nobody else remembers any of it.

    So Carl makes a plan: get Donut back, find Mordecai, keep his mouth shut, and save as many people as he can without letting the dungeon realize he knows what's coming.

    There's just one problem.

    The dungeon isn't unfolding exactly the way he remembers.

    And Carl is starting to suspect the AI remembers him, too.
