Summary
Mike kneeled down next to Will, finding one of his hands and latching onto it. The boy trembled with each quick inhale, his fingernails were bitten and his palm was drenched in sweat. Mike lifted it up and placed it against his chest, just over his own heart.
“Come on, you have to breathe for me, okay?” He said, tone gentle and hopeful. “Like this, baby,” Mike’s chest rose as he took a deep breath in. He held it for a few seconds before exhaling, pressing the pads of Will’s fingers to his contracting ribs. “It’s just me. It’s only Mike and nobody else.”
There had been a few times in the past where Will was mad at Mike. However, a bit of anger was nothing compared to the visible fear materializing in Will’s body when Mike inched closer. He wanted to hold Will in his lap and bury his nose in his hair as he explained, but Will wouldn’t even speak to him.

Will and Mike must navigate an apocalyptic version of Hawkins in the wake of Vecna’s ruin, with hopes of restoring the town to its former dignity. To do that, though, they must surrender to their feelings for one another. Can love overcome fear?
