Summary
In the wild, a new pack is formed by two wolves deciding to leave their established respective packs at a designated but not entirely decided upon age and travelling potentially miles away from the home they’ve known their whole lives in order to meet a potential partner. A courtship of sorts is established over months wherein they will compare certain physiological notes through grooming, play-fighting, teasing, etc., to decide whether they are compatible. If they are, the two wolves, as a new pack, will then travel together, marking out a territory to create a new home in which they will live, hunt, eat, sleep, and eventually breed. Each successful pup birth expands the pack until, inevitably, the cycle begins anew down along the lines at an unpredictable point in time.
With humans and werewolves, the process is not entirely dissimilar.
