Summary
Fresh from five years of exile in the free cities, Aerion returns to Westeros expecting a warm welcome. He is thoroughly disappointed with the reality. Following his most recent slip up, his father gives him only one choice to redeem himself: Aerion must wed. (Or, Maekar gives up at parenting him, hopefully a wife will fix him.)
Princess Lyera Martell of Dorne has successfully driven away every suitor in Westeros who does not warrant her attention. Despite her oldest brother, Prince Daemion's, attempts at finding her a husband, Lyera is determined to remain free. When her brother traps her in an agreement she cannot refuse, she is given only one route of escape: six moons of courting. If she refuses at the end, she walks free of obligation.
Aerion is desperate to maintain control, and Lyera is determined to see how a dragon fares under pressure. Both of them just want to be left alone by overbearing male figures in their lives. Queue a Sabrina Carpenter song about bed chem or something.
