“Viktor?” a very distressed voice came from the bathroom.
“Hm?” was the only response. Viktor was completely focused; the mouse cursor darted back and forth across the monitor as he verified that the new expansion had been purchased, the game downloaded, the livestream had been scheduled with the correct thumbnail and everything was set for Jayce to press a button and go live. That day’s stream was highly anticipated, not just by Jayce’s viewers, but by Jayce himself and Viktor too. On top of that, they had decided to do something a little different, so everything had to be perfect. Except that...
“We’re going to have to cancel the stream.”
That made Viktor stop everything he was doing and turn his neck so fast that the whole room started spinning.
“What? No, we won’t. Why?!”
He rose from his chair with the help of his cane and headed toward the bathroom as fast as he could, unable to imagine why his partner would want to cancel the day’s plans, and at such short notice too.
Stepping through the open doorway, he was met by the fur of Jayce’s massive coat collar.
“Ugh!” Viktor stepped back, spitting out some of the fur, yet he could still feel some on his tongue; a thoroughly unpleasant sensation. “What happened, Jayce?”
With a sigh, Jayce turned toward Viktor with his eyes closed, and when he opened them, Viktor was met with a disturbing sight: the bluest eyes he had ever seen in his life.
“...You look exactly like him,” Viktor remarked casually, testing the waters. And he wasn’t lying; Jayce was dressed as a perfect replica of his char from the MMORPG they played. Knee-high boots, ridiculously tight pants, gloves with unnecessary embellishments, a brown coat with a fur-lined collar, and blue eyes capable of seeing right into Viktor’s soul.
“I look ridiculous!” Jayce groaned in distress.
“No, you do not.”
“Yes, I am! The whole chat is going to make fun of me.” Jayce sat on the closed toilet lid and let his head drop into his hands, hiding his face behind his gloves.
“And I will ban anyone who dares to mock you,” Viktor said, very seriously.
“Really?” Jayce asked, looking up with a huge smile and (blue) eyes shining with hope.
“No, I won’t. There won’t be anyone left in the chat if I do that,” he said with a smirk.
“VIKTOR!”
“I am joking, Jayce. You do not look ridiculous. You just look different. Like... you are doing cosplay. And that is what you are doing and the whole point.” Viktor planted a kiss on Jayce’s forehead and adjusted the fuzzy collar of his coat. “You will see. Everything will be okay, and the chat is going to love today’s stream!”

“...I don’t want to hear a single laugh,” Jayce said, locking his phone and tossing it to the other side of the couch.
“I pfft I am not pfft l-laughing.”
“YOU ARE!” Jayce exclaimed, though he was holding back laughter himself.
“Eh, but I told you everything would be okay Pfft And that the chat would love the stream!” Viktor exclaimed, feeling a headache coming from how hard he was holding back his laughter. But then he remembered an edit a chat member had made—a massive close-up on Jayce’s blue eyes—and he couldn’t hold it in anymore; he laughed so hard a snort escaped, startling Rio.
“Glad that at least someone is having fun with the bullying I’m suffering.”
“Oh, shush. Don’t be dramatic. Everyone is laughing with you, not at you…” He paused. “Okay, no, they are laughing with you and at you. But think of the views, Jayce; think of all the new people who will watch your next live stream. And at least you looked very handsome in all the edits and memes. Very, very handsome.”
“Yeah, you’ve got a point. I looked pretty good.” Jayce smiled and lifted his chin, looking pleased with himself. “I think I’ll wear the cosplay again for the next stream.”
“But without the contact lenses.”
“Without the contact lenses,” Jayce agreed.
