In a realm beyond the very concepts of every space, every time and every dimension resides a planet that dwarfs any star, any galaxy or any universe. The planet, when looked from above, was mainly blue in colour and had swirls of golden energy around it, which from anyone's perspective would have looked like clouds.
Inside the planet a humanoid figure would be sitting on a throne looking at multiple blue floating screens each having a different image or video on them.
The person was male with a muscular frame, stood around 6 feet 10 inches tall, had dark brown skin, short spikey black hair and piercing bright blue eyes. The man was also wearing a black toga with a dark blue sash and a golden laurel wreath on the top of his head.
As he was observing the various images and videos shown to him he couldn’t but have a joyful if almost nostalgic smile on his face as he continued to look at what was shown to him. The video and images this man was watching were in fact the events of different universes and realities being shown.
In one reality a young shinobi and his allies fighting against an alien princess, another a mage with no magic fighting against fate to lead those who have magic, another had a man dressed as a red and blue spider saving child from a car crash, another showing an old man and young boy travelling across the multiverse, another having a blue hedgehog racing against a man dressed in red and another showing 2 massive titans bigger than entire galaxies trading blows with one another.
The large room the man sat in was filled with 100s of these floating screens, each of them showing a different scenario. Some good, some bad, some beautiful, ugly, exciting, boring or just down right weird.
A satisfied smile escaped the man's lips as with a snap of his fingers the various videos he was playing all paused simultaneously.
‘The multiverse is truly a beautiful thing, every choice, every action and every thought, each one leading to a different possibility. A complete archive of infinite stories to show and tell’ The man thought to himself as he raised up his head slightly to look at nothing, the smile never leaving his face.
‘Why should such a be shared with all the other residents within creation.’ The man mused ‘Yes that’s right… such knowledge and events shouldn’t be hidden but given as a gift for every being out in the endless reaches of space and time, and I know the perfect format in how to do it’
With a snap of his fingers a blue portal appeared above the room and out from the portal 2 figures dropped in with one landing on the other.
“Aghhh! Get off me Boomstick!”
“Ughhh Aghh…I think I broke something.” Boomstick said getting off of Wiz as he held out his hand to help him up, to which the mad scientist accepted. Upon getting their bearing they noticed they were in a very large throne room that was filled with a bunch of floating blue screens having paused images of different fictional characters.
“Where the hell are we?” Boomstick asked not really knowing what to make of the situation. If he didn’t know any better he would have assumed one of Wiz’s inventions teleported them somewhere, whether a different universe, a different timeline or just teleported them to a different room he wasn’t exactly sure, but the look on Wiz’s confused face told him he too was as lost.
“I-I don’t know” replied the mad scientist looking at the blue screens with both caution and curiosity. “You weren’t messing with any of my inventions were you?”
“What makes you think I had anything to do with this?!”
“How about the fact that you deliberately mess with my inventions despite knowing there is a ‘DO NOT TOUCH’ sign in front of it”
“Pffftt first of all I’ve only done that a few 11 times and second of all you really think putting a ‘DO NOT TOUCH’ sign is really gonna stop someone from touching it, you should have put a ‘PLEASE TOUCH THIS’ sign as a form of reverse psychology and all that mumbo jumbo” replied the redneck as he took a beer out of his pocket and began chugging it down.
“*sign* you know what, lets figure out where we are” Wiz said with an exasperated sign to which Boomstick nodded in agreement as he continued to sip on his beverage.
“The one responsible for your arrival would be me”
Upon those words being said the pressure in the room suddenly felt heavy, the moment Wiz and Boomstick felt such pressure their bodies stiffened in shock and fear. What they felt right now was power, power so incomprehensibly immeasurable that they did not dare to even move. The 2 hosts of Deathbattle were sweating buckets with Wiz’s legs shaking and Boomstick’s beer falling out his hand completely being forgotten about as his body stood still in fear. Despite the immense fear they were feeling they still decided to turn to the direction of the voice.
They looked up and saw the man in the black toga sitting on the throne sporting an amused smile on his face as his head leaned to the side on his closed fist. Despite the man's casual posture his aura was overwhelming. Now Wiz and Boomstick were no strangers to powerful beings, after all their own job is to peer through the multiverse to find suitable competitors, analyze them thoroughly and create almost perfect (A/N: Key word almost) simulation to show how a fight between them would go. This be whether a human, demi-human, monster, alien, robot, demon, angel or even a god they have practically seen it all.
However in the presence of this man, if they could even call him a man, something about him felt a bit different. He was giving off energies of divinity but within that energy several other different types of energy sources, like magic, psionic energy, cosmic energy, Ki, etc.
Finally after a couple of seconds of silence from both sides and with a few breaths coming from the 2 hosts of Death Battle it was Boomstick who finally spoke up.
“U-um…Hey” The redneck said with a small wave of his hand
“Hey to you as well Boomstick and Wizard” The man said with a small smile on his face “Apologies for the scare there I wanted both your absolute attention”
Just as he said that the overwhelming pressure in the room immediately vanished as if it were not even there in the first place. The host of Death battle got their breaths under control and slowly became less rigged but despite no longer feeling the oppressive aura both Wiz and Boomstick were still put on edge as this person just admitted to be the one that kidnapped them. A lot of questions were running through both their heads with Wiz wanting to quench his curiosity first.
“Who…who are you?”
“I go by the name Chaos, you could say I’m a being that oversees the Omniverse, as of right now you're currently in my realm that resides outside of your known reality.” The being known as a Chaos answered honestly, surprising Wiz and Boomstick that they were currently in the presence of such a deity.
“Ok then why did you summon us?” Despite Wiz’s calm tone his mind was racing to try to formulate a reason what him and Boomstick out of all people in the multiverse could do for Chaos. ‘Are we in trouble by any chance? Are we going to be punished from peering through the dimensions and articling them?’ The scientist thought nervously as he was hoping that was not why they were called.
Chaos' smile widened as he straightened up his posture looking directly into the 2 hosts of Deathbattle.
“That’s simple, I want you 2 to host Deathbattle that would be broadcasted throughout the Omniverse” Chaos said, making Wiz and Boomstick blink in surprise.
“Say what now?” Boomstick asked incredulously, almost wondering if this were some sort of prank.
“Wasn’t I clear earlier? I am giving you” Chaos raised his hand pointing his two fingers at Wiz and Boomstick “ the means to broadcast Death battle to an endless number realities with an infinite number of lives to view them” The toga wearing being explained with the scientist and redneck having their jaws dropped from hearing the opportunity being presented to them. Wiz himself seemed the most eager to take this position as this would be a great chance to show off his brilliance.
That being said he couldn’t help but feel a bit suspicious of this whole scenario, without a doubt this person was insanely powerful, possibly more powerful than anyone they have analyzed. What could he have to gain by allowing them to host their show to an infinite number of realities.
“Can I ask why though, not saying we aren’t going to do it, I just want to know what you gain in all of this?”
Chaos paused pondering at the for a second until he opened his mouth to speak
“You see, I am being that oversees all of reality. I am not the only one of my kind as there are billions like me each overviewing the Omniverse” Chaos explained with Wiz and Boomstick widening their eyes in surprise from such a revelation.
“There are even a few 100 million of those beings that create their own realities that can be viewed. The reason why we do this is simple.” Chaos paused which added some dramatic effect “It's because we want to know what happens.”
Wiz and Boomstick almost face faulted at such a cliche answer but at the same time it kinda makes sense.
“To us your reality known as the omniverse looks like complete fiction and we overseers derive great pleasure in observing how these worlds play out and even take joy in creating their own realities, whether that be adding a different scenario in a known universe, just changing the laws of said reality, combining different realities together ot completely creating one all together. To us observing these realities is one of the greatest forms of pleasure to exist. It then gave me the idea of why should just the overseers should be privileged to watch these worlds, how would the other beings of their respective realities react to other ones." Wiz and Boomstick could see where this was going
“What I gain is satisfaction to my curiosity, you could also of say this is a gift to the Omniverse as a chance to see and learn what lies beyond their own reality, what other means to do that than to have 2 champions from different universe fighting it out” Chaos answered now standing up and floating towards the duo
“You know you could have just emailed us instead of having us being dropped by a portal” Boomstick complained with Wiz elbowing him in the shoulder hoping he didn’t accidentally offend the deity in front of them.
“Hahaha I suppose I could have do that but this way is more direct” Chaos chuckled in amusement “So do both of you accept this position”
““Yes!”” Wiz and Boomstick said simultaneously as all 3 of them began the preparations for an Omniversal viewing of Death battle.
DC Universe
Earth - 0
In the DC Universe it was a pretty normal day for the most part in the main DC universe known as a Earth-0 (A/N: Key word most part) Metropolis was still the bustling city Gotham had its same ruthless lifestyle, Themyscira still had its peaceful yet practices and villains were coming up with different schemes with the various heroes coming in to stop them whether on earth or in space.
That for the most part is a regular day in the DC universe. However that changed when all electronic screens suddenly showed static then displayed a blue blank screens. Then out of nowhere several large blue screens appeared in the sky all over the world with some smaller blue screens appearing inside the buildings that people resided in.
This caused panic and distress within the masses with some looking at the screens with curiosity, but there was one question that pondered everyone's mind, who or what was happening?
(The Watchtower)
The members of the Justice league were currently in the meeting chamber discussing how to go about dealing with one of their arch-nemesis Felix Faust, that is until all their electronic screens went blank blue and the same blue screens appeared inside the watchtower.
“What the? Are we being attacked?” Green Arrow asked, hand already on his quiver as the other heroes in the room had their guards raised prepared to fight. Batman glared at the screens as he carefully examined one of them up close.
“This doesn’t appear to be any sort of attack” The caped crusader then turns to Doctor Fate and Mr. Terrific “Can you tell what these screens are made of and if there is a signal?”
“I’m sensing a high amount of magical power and other forms of energy being projected but I can’t determine where its coming from” replied the magic user
“I’m detecting some cosmic energy and other unknown forms of energy but I too can’t find a single trace of where the signal’s coming from” Mr. Terrific said as his T-spheres were scanning the blue screens
“Hey guys I got some bad news” Hal Jordan said with everyone's attention turning to him “This is happening everywhere, not only on earth but in the universe. Oa, Thanagar, Tamarania, Rann, the green lanterns are getting reports from every planet with sentient life saying they have the same blue screens popping up.
The members of the Justice League hearing this couldn’t help but feel unease at their current situation. Yes they have dealt with universal to multiversal threats and have practically seen it all, however they weren’t sure what to really make of this. If this wasn’t an attack then what could it be? A message? A warning? If that is the case then from where?
Superman looked at the screens with unease and used his super hearing to listen to the panic and distressed citizens of earth. His eyebrows furrowed contemplating how to go about dealing with this, however one thought never left his mind.
‘Just what exactly is going on?’ The Man of Steel thought to himself.
Marvel Universe
Earth - 616
The same Phenomenon was happening in the main Marvel universe as well, screens of all electronic devices were blank and blue with the same large blue screens floating in the air for everyone to look at.
“Dang it, I’m getting no signal of where these screens are coming from. All I’m getting is reading of various sources of energy being emitted from them” Tony Stark said as he wore his Iron man armour using FRIDAY to scan the screens.
“Yes I’m sensing a high amount of magical energy being projected around the earth” commented Doctor Strange as his hands glowed with orange magical energy.
“Hulk will smash anyone in his way!” The green goliath added
“Something about this isn’t right, if we really are being attacked then what kind of attack is this” Captain America said as he looked at one of the screens
“Aye, perhaps this is a warning? Just like the time Galactus Herald came to warn us previously” Thor said referring to Silver surfer.
“Whatever it is we will face this together” Captain America added as all the heroes nodded in agreement
The heroes, villains, civilians and aliens of the Marvel universe all had various thoughts on what was happening each one coming to a different conclusion, however they wouldn’t expect what was to happen in the next coming minutes.
Dragon Ball Super
(After the Tournament of Power)
““Huh?”” Both Goku and Vegeta simultaneously uttered as they stopped their attacks in the air as soon as they noticed the same blue screens popping up around the sky, just at the wasteland where they were sparring. Goku slowly floated towards one the screens with curiosity in his eyes.
“Hey what is this Vegeta?”
“How the hell should I know Kakarot, I’m just as confused as you are?” The Prince of all Saiyans said as he too floated towards one of the blue screen
Goku then out of curiosity touched one of the screens to see if anything would happen but his finger went right through it with no damage being done to the screen.
“Hmmm? Is this like one of those holograms Bulma has? Maybe she knows what's going on?”
Vegeta grunted in agreement and they flew towards capsule corp. Upon arriving in the area they saw most of their other friends and family outside the building as Bulma was currently talking with Beerus and Whis.
“Bulma, what's going on here?” Vegeta asked, walking up to his wife.
“You tell me, a bunch of these screens have been appearing all over the world and every electronic device with a screen has gone blank” Bulma explained scratching the back of her head
“I was hoping Beerus and Whis would know what’s happening but their just as clueless as I am”
“Indeed, whoever or whatever is doing this better have a good reason for this occurrence because they better pray their demise would be quick” Beerus said, irritated of having been interrupted from his meal as he now actually has to do some work. Whis’s staff then started blinking green with the angel looking upon the crystal ball. He was getting a message and couldn’t help but give a soft exclamation.
“Oh My!”
“What is it Whis?” The god of destruction asked with everyone else looking towards the angel in curiosity.
“Forgive me for the sudden outburst my lord, but it seems that this strange phenomena is not only happening to our own universe but the remaining 11 universes as well”
Hearing what Whis said everyone couldn’t help but tense up. Someone or something out there not only had to project these screens in their universe but their entire multiverse, for what purpose they weren’t sure.
“By any chance is King Zeno doing this?” Gohan asked the angel to which Whis shook his head at.
“Apparently no, Grand Priest himself confirmed that the Omni-king is in no way responsible for this”
“Bulma can’t you just create a device to find where this signal is coming from?” Vegeta asked
“I already used one of the machines but couldn’t get anything” Bulma answered, making Vegeta click his tongue.
“I wonder whoever’s causing this is a strong fighter” Goku wondered, making almost everyone look at him with a deadpan expression. They still tried to figure out what was going on and luckily for them they wouldn’t have to wait too long.
Throughout the Omniverse the same blue screens appeared in front of the masses. A lot of people were confused and scared, some were interested and curious and the very very few honestly didn’t care. Many questioned where these screens came from, some it it was a plans from the government, other thoughts it was a dream or hallucination, few thought it was an attack, there other theorizing it was some sort of sorcery or advanced tech and some others thought it was divine intervention (A/N: Which isn’t 100 percent wrong). Many tried to destroy or just get rid of them however no amount of power or intervention got rid of them, whether magical or technological. The longer the screens stayed the more anxious people were getting wondering just what the hell was going on?
They wouldn’t have to wait for long as the screens suddenly showed static causing everyone to immediately pay attention to the display. After a couple of seconds of the screens showing static it gradually disappeared and what showed was Wiz, Boomstick and Chaos
“Hello residents of the Omniverse” Chaos greeted
“Humans, Demi-humans, Aliens, Monsters, Demons, Angels and Gods, I am Chaos an Overseer of the Omniverse and as of now you are currently going to be viewing the wonders of said Omniverse”
Upon hearing what Chaos said many people couldn’t help but be confused and baffled with what this person was saying. However, some of those remaining people leaned in awe and curiosity of what they were going to witness, especially the ones that came from “regular universes” that didn’t have things like magic, aliens or super advanced technology.
“As you could already guess the one responsible for blue screens would be me, which I do apologise for the inconvenience. My intentions aren’t to harm any one of you as I simply wish to present you a gift. A gift of view realities beyond your own and how some are so much different from your own”
A lot of people throughout the Omniverse couldn’t believe what they were hearing. The Multiverse, no, the Omniverse was real and it was going to be shown to them. Many were in denial, some cried for joy as knowing multiverse theory was real and some had their curiosity in the absolute peak.
"Now, for most of you heroes, villains, and anti-heroes, or whatever you call yourselves. You have spent your entire lives protecting the innocent in multiple forms, whether it is by protecting the bad guys or killing them for the sake of others. I have decided you are in need of rest!" He announced to them all. "So use this chance to recuperate"
"However...." Chaos snapped his fingers as a large burst of energy rippled out of him and spread across the entire Omniverse. "As for you villains, monsters, and even those who believe themselves to be in the right, I have cast a spell that will prevent you from leaving your current locations, and don't even bother trying to get out, it will be for all naught. Please keep in mind that I only do this so that you will not disrupt the events that are to come."
Jujutsu Kaisen
(Season 1)
“JUST WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS?!!” Jogo yelled in fury with the top of his head erupting with lava. He immediately made his way for the door but the moment he touched it, he was sent back hundreds of feet in the air crashing against the trees and sand with his arm completely burnt.
“Hahahaha! That guy wasn’t lying we can’t leave this place” Mahito laughed sending a few projectiles to destroy the door but to no avail. Even when Dagon tried to dispel his Domain nothing happened with all 4 disaster curses and Kenjaku being trapped.
“...how interesting…” Kenjaku muttered though he was not sporting his usual jovial smile as his face remained impassive doing nothing but observing the screen in front of him.
My Hero Academia
(Ending of season 5)
“Grrrrr…just what kind of bullshit is this” Shigaraki growled as no matter how many times he used Decay on the room it just wouldn’t be destroyed. Just when things were looking up for the Leagues of Villains when they allied with the Meta Liberation Army and then became renamed Paranormal Liberation Front. It actually looked like they had a good chance in completely destroying the heroes and hero society for good, but now they have to deal with this nonsense by some so-called Overseer of the Omniverse.
“Ugh Dang it!...I check through every escape route and even through the vents, there some sort of barrier preventing us from leaving” Spinner complained slumping on the couch besides Shigaraki
“You really think this guys being serious…for all we know this could just be a quirk we haven’t heard of” Dabi added looking at the screen
“I don’t care if this is a quirk or not…the moment I get out of here. I’ll find this person…and end him” Shigaraki declared clenching his fist in anger.
“I think it's real, I wonder what kind of things we will see…ohh I wonder if they are gonna show our world!” Toga exclaimed excitedly
Record of Ragnarok
(Before the tournament)
“What kind of joke is this?!” Ares roared “If this so-called Overseer is really a deity shouldn’t he be helping us eradicate humanity?!”
Ares wasn’t just angry, he was furious not was Ragnarok being delayed by their fellow deity but also they were considered the bad guys as they couldn’t leave their own chambers, THEM. They are gods, the very beings who decided to create humanity in the first place and now that they decided it was best to annihilate them they were now to be labelled as villains. Such an insult was beyond disrespectful and was deserving of the highest punishment.
“At ease my boy” Zeus said placing a hand on his sons shoulder “As of right now there is nothing we could do, but make no mistake my boy…we won’t take this sitting down”
Ares huffed in frustration but related and went to sit back on his chair whilst Hermes the personal herald of Zeus stayed but there was a gleam in his eyes that held an abundance of curiosity.
“H-hey b-big sister is this part of your doing?” Goll nervously asked the oldest Valkyrie, but looking at Brunhilde's stunned face confirmed her answer.
“No Goll…I’m just as surprised as you are. I have never seen or heard of this Chaos, Overseer of the Omniverse” replied Brunhilde.
The Valkyrie couldn’t make heads or tales as to who or what was going on. She did however know that this Chaos person considered the gods bad and was actually capable of trapping them. Even their strongest gods such as Zeus, Thor and Poseidon.
“I was hoping to get some information but even you don’t know who this guy is?” A voice came behind the 2 valkyries and they turned to see Bhudda approaching them with a relaxed expression.
“Lord Buddha? You weren’t held with the other gods?” Brunhilde asked surprised, making Buddha shrug.
“I never intended on fighting against humanity, but I don’t think that important right now” Buddha said, gesturing his head towards the floating screen “Tell me Brunhilde, what do you make of this?”
The Valkyrie paused for a second until she opened her mouth to speak.
“I’m not sure who or what this Overseer is, I also can’t 100 percent say if this being is telling the truth. That being said we can determine he is extremely powerful to restrain the gods that want humanities destruction meaning he considers them evil in this scenario.” Brunhilde explained as she placed a hand below her chin.
“For now I say we should continue watching this display and get as much information as we can”
Buddha and Goll didn’t say anything but were in silent agreement looking back at the screen as we go to Chaos, Wiz and Boomsticks perspective.
“Now that is taken care of I will leave my 2 guests to fully explain how this event will be taking place.” Chaos said as he disappeared into thin air with Wiz and Boomstick walked up.
“*cough* Hello everyone in the Omniverse, I’m Wiz the genius scientist who will be providing the analysis and calculations of today's events.”
“And I’m Boomstick! Lover of beers, weapons and explosions!” The redneck said, chugging down a beer.
“For this spectacle of observing the Omniverse we have a special event known as Death Battle.
“Basically speaking we are taking champions from 2 different universes, explaining their lore and their world, then having them fight to the DEEEEEEATH!” Boomstick yelled out in excitement.
When the residents of the Omniverse heard this many of them immediately tensed up in horror seeing people fighting to the death, especially the heroes thinking they may be picked thinking they would be forced to fight someone to the death. Luckily Wiz came to the rescue to ease their worries.
“Before any of you panic, we aren’t actually kidnapping anyone to have them fight to the death, what you will be witnessing is a hyper realistic simulation on what the most likely outcome of the 2 combatants will be” Wiz explained making almost everyone sign in relief but others were actually pretty disappointed they wouldn’t be the ones fighting.
“As much as I wanna get started with Death Battle we do have to list out the rules first!” Boomstick said as the list of rules appeared on the screen with Wiz’s voice narrating them.
- Combatants have no prior knowledge of each other unless specified.
- To ensure a fair fight, any specific moral restraints from killing are removed from combatants. All other traits are considered.
- A combatant's maximum personal potential is examined unless specified otherwise. Factors unrelated to combatants cannot end the battle.
- Unless specified, all official material related to a champion is applied unless found contradictory to the primary reality.
“for anyone who was wondering about Rule 3 and Rule 4, in some other universes, you all are nothing more than mere fiction to us, so we may be including some stuff that will happen in the future." Wiz explained.
Everyone had their jaws dropped as they heard that in some universes, they are fictional characters. This actually left quite a few feeling some sort of existential dread within them as they began to question if they really existed? Hell did they even matter? Or were they all just a means to provide entertainment for people they couldn’t interact with.
Luckily for them as if some form of cosmic intervention happened Boomstick came to the rescue of everyone having potentially having an existential crisis
“Now before anyone here has an existential breakdown, you can chill out and know for a fact that you are real. Your choices, beliefs, thoughts and actions were completely of your own choice. In a world of infinite realities with infinite choices and possibilities the worlds that were thought fiction to us doesn’t make them any less real. Your "Authors and Creators” just happened to be retelling an exact timeline or scenario in your universe in what they thought was fiction.
But you still are your own person, dudes and dudettes and you should never let anyone tell you otherwise!” Boomstick yelled the last part bringing the thoughts of the people questioning themselves to a halt as they slowly accepted what Boomstick was saying. The logic was pretty sound,in a reality of endless possibilities who is to say they weren’t simply fiction stories, but no the less it didn’t make them any less real as their events did actually happen.
"And 1 more thing to those who have secret identities and such, our benefactor has already made a way to prevent your secret identities leaking out in your respective universes and by that he uses his power to cause a memory wipe of only your identities once each battle is over."
The superheroes and vigilantes across the omniverse all signed in relief of their identities not being exposed.
DC universe
Earth - 0
“Well that’s good to know, can’t have ever A-list supervillain hunting down good old Oliver Queen” Green arrow joked with Black Canary rolling her eyes but she smiled nonetheless
Batman wasn’t amused as he continued watching the screen absorbing every piece of useful information he could get.
“You think they are telling the truth, Bruce?”
“....For now yes” Batman answered plainly not taking his eyes of the screen
“Though I can’t say I agree with their methods of erasing people's minds just to keep our secret identities” Martian Manhunter added with several of the leaguers nodding in agreement but as of right now they couldn’t really do anything but watch.
Invincible Universe
(After the Viltrumite War)
“*sign* …I’m at least glad our identities won’t get exposed…espiecally after everything that's happened” Mark signed as he was sitting next to Atom Eve just trying to spend as much time as a possible with his girlfriend. Eve held his hand leaning her head on his shoulder.
“Its alright Mark, you can rest now, after all they just told us the villains won’t be a problem as they are currently be restrained” Eve said making Mark actually smile at that
“Thanks babe, I wonder if we’ll see any of the guys I met when in those other universes?” Mark asked remembering his adventures with Spider-man and meeting Batman
“Now that we have everything out of the way, let's not waste time and begin.” Wiz said
“IT’S TIME FOR A DEATHBATTLE!!!” Boomstick yelled
The screen flickers to life as soon as silhouettes were beginning to form, before two characters begin to appear.
“...I have a dream”
“...Persona!!!”
