    The old man looked at the child with interest. Blind, wounded, and huge for his age, the boy could barely stand before him.

    "What's your name, lad?"
    "Dunk," the child mumbled, then lost consciousness.

    When the boy came to, the old man realized the child was as blind as a tree and as thick as a mule. But no matter, perhaps something worthwhile would come of him yet.

    Or the story of how Dunk tries to become a knight and survive in this world while being blind, meeting many new people along the way who are extremely interested in his peculiarity.
