I need to stop answering when someone knocks on my door at 2AM because nothing good ever comes out of it.
But because I never learn I get out of bed anyway. I go over to the door and allow it to slide open to see John standing there in his usual uniform. “What did you do now?” I ask immediately.
“I didn’t do anything,” he claims.
“Right,”
He rolls his eyes and crosses his arms. “Wossley wanted me to get you. The control room is being weird,”
“Do I look like an engineer?” I argue as I put my shoes on and shove past him.
“No, but you’re the closest thing we have to an expert,”
“Yeah, yeah. I know. I’m so smart,” I should have stayed in bed. Because whenever something goes wrong it always goes wrong in the worst way possible. It can never go wrong in a way of ‘of oh a breaker blew,’ it’s never that fucking simple.
I wish it was.
He follows behind me as I grumble and complain the entire way to the control room. “Alright who broke it,” I ask walking into the control room and hooking my computer up to one of the control tables. Nothing pops up.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
“Someone get zelinka,”
“Um, we tried he said to go away,” someone says.
“The drag him out of bed. I don’t care how you do it,” I grumble as I finally get something on screen. I really want coffee right now.
Between me and zelinka we manage to fix it somehow. Neither of us were happy campers though.
