Shen Jiu looked at the girls in the booth around him with a fond smile. They were talking and bickering as usual, and the normality of it all along with the comfort of being around his favorite people made everything that had happened in the last week worth it.
He didn't know what he would do without them.
"A-Jiu!! Tell Ai-jie that shrimp is obviously superior to any other seafood!!" Lan-mei grabbed onto his arm, an exaggerated pout on her face.
"Mm. Sorry, jiejie, but I'm with meimei on this one. Shrimp is versatile, both in situations where it can be used and in taste." Shen Jiu said, shrugging. Ai-jie, who was on the other side of the table, huffed but smiled.
"Well, I suppose if A-Jiu says so, he must be right," she teased.
"Oh, of course A-Jiu is always right, he wouldn't make any sort of claim without at least half a dozen sources to back him up," Hui-jie said, jumping into the conversation.
Shen Jiu just smirked at them and let the overlapping conversations wash over him. He still wasn't back to his best, but with his sisters by his side, he knew it would be all right.
