The Nightly Double Drive-In was as loud and crowded as it could get on a Friday night. Crowds of Greasers and Socs lined the rows of seats and cars while The Sound of Music played on the big screen in the background.
The nighttime air was filled with the scents of buttery popcorn and Coca-Cola as hundreds— if not thousands of stars lit up the dark sky.
Dally and Two-Bit had been reluctantly dragged along by Johnny and Ponyboy. Both of which, did not want to go.
For both Dally and Two-Bit, this was not how they would want to spend their ideal Friday night. They would rather be getting drunk somewhere and secretly making out at Bucks right after.
But apparently, you can't get anything you want now.
Hence why they brought six bottles of beer with them.
Two-Bit was able to sneakily grab said beer out of the Curtis's fridge before they took off for the Drive-In with the other boys.
As the four Greasers slowly approached the Drive-In, Dallas had already gone through two cigarettes and was now on his third.
"Pony, remind me why you had to force Two and me to come to this kiddy movie with y'all. Don't you and Johnny have something better to do? Like— I don't know reading or learnin' your ABCs." Dallas said with a scowl as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket.
"Oh piss off Dal. Remember when Pones and I had to sit through you and Two-Bits awful flirting last time? I think this is payment." Johnny added as he and Ponyboy continued to the fence Dallas had cut a hole through so they could get in without paying. Because Dallas Winston doesn't like doing anything the "legal" way.
"Damn kid." The hood had muttered under his breath as he took another drag of his cigarette.
"He got you there." Two-Bit said with a small cackle. Dally decided to elbow him in the side for taking the kids' side.
"Ow! What was that for?" A playful frown made its way onto Two-Bits face.
And with no answer Dally walked away, heading to where Pony and Johnny were in the distance.

About thirty minutes into the movie, the two older Greasers were getting bored. They had already gone through two beers each, gotten shushed multiple times, and smoked half a pack of cigarettes so far.
Dally couldn't take much more of this. The movie that was playing was annoying, especially with all of the singing evolved in it. Somewhere around the fifteen minute mark, he could've sworn he saw a smug look plastered on Pony and Johnny's as if they were enjoying him suffering through the film.
"Hey guys, Dal and I are gonna go grab some concessions. Don't miss us too much." Two-Bit stated as he grabbed Dally's arm and pulled him up from his chair.
The pair quickly took off and waltzed casually past the concession stand and headed toward the empty field behind it.
With a grunt, Two-Bit flopped down on the grass with a groan. "God," He rubbed his eyes before continuing. "I thought that movie would never end. I think I might have just gone crazy waiting for it to be over."
Dallas sat right down next to Two-Bit and let out a relieved sigh.
"Man, I swear those little shits only made us go to this to make us suffer." Dally pushed some of the hair back from his face as he put out his cigarette.
The two were silent for a bit, simply looking up at the sky and enjoying the other's presence without other people around to bother them.
A gentle wind blew as the trees and grass swayed. Nights like these made Tulsa not so bad to be in. The weather was just right; where it was cold enough to wear a jacket, but not making it miserably hot either.
"Hey, babe," Two-Bit chirped from over Dally's right shoulder.
"Two, I told ya not to call me that." Dally muttered with a stern look on his face.
"Oh come one, you know you like me calling you that." Two-Bit smiled as he said that.
For once, Dally didn't have some smart remark to fire back with, so he just sat there. He felt a small tap on his shoulder and turned his head around to see Two-Bit holding up two beer bottles with a grin on his face.
"Wanna get drunk? I don't think I can sit through this entire movie sober."
"Oh hell yeah man."
Dally excitedly grabbed one of the bottles Two-Bit had in his hands and gave a small peck on his cheek. Dally doesn't really care for physical affection on most days, but he thinks this is an exception.
Both partners have come to an understanding of whether or not they want to be clingy or not. It depends on how both are feeling.
As the nighttime passed on, the stars started shining brighter, and well, Dallas and Two-Bit got drunker. They were giggling at every little thing that happened, and all pressed up against each other.
"Y'know," —Dally hiccuped— "I really don't understand why all men have to be so rude! I mean like all I did was slash his tires because, one, he started it! And two, he called me an asshole for nothin'!" He was motioning around with his hands to attempt to convey his point.
"Yeah, totally dude." Two-Bit slurred out while staring into Dally's eyes.
The pair made eye contact.
Then out of nowhere, Two-Bit tackled Dally onto the ground while wrapping his arms around him and encased him into a bear hug.
Dally chuckled as he tried to pry Two-Bit off of him.
Two-Bits ginger hair shone in the moonlight, giving it an amber glow to it. He looks pretty tuff. Dally thought, still fighting for Two-Bit to let go of him. After three minutes of Dally falling to get Two-Bit off of him, he gave up, accepting his defeat.
And they stayed like that for almost twenty minutes. After what felt like ages Two-Bit let go and pulled out a cigarette from the almost empty pack. He lit up clumsily, almost dropping the lighter in the grass.
He lazily took a drag of it and passed it over to Dally, who eagerly took a drag of his boyfriend's cigarette.
"I bet that you can't blow a circle out of the smoke." Two-Bit said with a cheeky grin.
"I totally can!" Dallas snapped back as he snatched the cigarette out of Two-Bits hand.
Not long after, the drowsiness started kicking in. Dally was tiredly clinging onto Two-Bit's arm as he muttered an incoherent sentence.
"Do ya,"— Dally hiccuped—" Do ya think the movie’s over yet?" He asked.
"Definitely not. We've only been gone for like…" Two-Bit paused his sentence to think. "Twenty minutes. Yeah, we've been gone for twenty minutes. In fact, I think they don't even notice we've gone!" Two-Bit added.

And all the way back at the seats by the movie screen, sat Johnny and Ponyboy. For the past hour and half, the two boys sat holding hands while the end of the movie started coming around.
"Those two definitely did not go get concessions." Ponyboy said as he threw a few pieces of popcorn into his mouth with his free hand.
"Oh, for sure." Johnny chuckled.
