They are in a tent. Hange is speaking in a voice louder than they probably intend.
"That is so dumb! Just kiss who you want to kiss! Unless making people who don't want to kiss is some form of sadistic enjoyment."
"I did wonder how it would feel to kiss you, Hange," Eren said for no particular reason.
"Really?"
"Yeah... I can't say why... I just did. But not like that, in front of everyone... in private."
"We can add that to the list of inexplicable events that will probably happen later." Hange decided.
"Or everyone can close their eyes."
Mikasa has no idea why she said that.
"That's not the same thing," Eren replied calmly, "Everyone being there and not looking is not the same thing as no one looking. Everyone not looking becomes the point. There's an implicit presence of voyeurism."
"Oh for fuck's sake! Either do it or don't! Stop discussing the concept of doing it!" Levi supplied and then leaned back against the tent structure.
"Oh, someone hit a nerve."
"Shut up, Jean."
"Implicit presence... of voyeurism"
Hange put their head in their hand, repeating those words to themselves again.
"Why the fuck did this shit turn you into a philosopher?"
"I wish I took more drugs on top of drugs I already took." Jean said.
"I don't care, okay?" Levi said as if sensing the subtext underneath, "I am not jealous, I am not upset. I don't care whether Eren kisses Hange or Eren doesn't kiss Hange. I am annoyed that-
"Annoyed is your natural state."
"Shut up, Jean."
"I just wish he'd stop being so fucking... inefficient about it,"
Levi states as it that's his final thesis.
"You do know you said that in the most roundabout way possible while complaining about inefficiency?" said Eren.
"I was emphasising it."
