Chapter Text

Wemmbu woke up like he always does since being kidnapped by aliens, to the light abruptly coming on and startling him awake. He's gotten used to it somewhat but it would be nice if it wasn’t so abrupt. He tries to bury himself under the blankets of the cot he was in, to try to get a few more minutes of sleep. But not long after the rude awakening he hears the wheels of the food cart.

He slowly starts to get up and stretch. As he finishes stretching he gets out of the cot and waits. He watches as the two aliens walk toward his cell, visibly nervous. He makes sure he tracks its movements as it takes the tray off the cart and places it on the ground by the door. It’s slid under the cell door through a slot at the bottom. He starts to brace himself, his wings shift behind his back into a more comfortable position.
When the tray is finally through the slot, the alien starts to pull away slowly while keeping an eye on him. He waits for its guard to lower slightly as it takes a step back and starts muttering to the other alien next to it. As it starts to turn towards the other alien, he lunges. He goes straight to the bars, snarling, acting like he's trying to get the aliens.

He watches as the alien next to the cart stumbles into the wall behind it. The alien who gave him his food falls back into the food cart, spilling its contents everywhere. He bursts into laughter at the sight. He doubles over immediately trying to contain his laughter as he watches the two aliens scramble to run away, leaving the cart behind.

As he starts to calm his laughter he turns toward the tray in front of the door. It's that same tasteless dried meat looking rectangles and water as always. His good mood sours slightly at the sight of it.
He walks over to pick it up and bring it back to the cot where he can start eating and saves the water for later. He hides the water bottles in his cot under the blankets, just in case they decide to stop feeding him, he’ll at least have water to last him a while.

Once he finishes up his food, he stretches his wings out. His wings are too big to be able to extend them fully, but it helps the ache somewhat. He sits on the cot facing the door, trying to think about what will happen today. He unconsciously grabs his long purple hair that's in a slightly messy braid, and starts to undo the braid to redo it.
Every couple of days they’ll bring him out of his cell to be taken to the ring. It's a huge gladiator ring with massive stands, with loads of other aliens, most of them look like the cat/panda aliens. But different aliens are scattered throughout the stands as well.

He can’t say he loves going into the ring because he's being used for entertainment for his captors. But he’d be lying if he didn’t say he loved the thrill of the fight. He loves the way the other aliens quiver in fear when he comes out. How even though they're terrified they still attack him. How the mere sight of him makes the stands go wild. It gives him a rush of adrenaline each time. It's exhilarating every time.
At first he didn't want to fight but even if he tried to be peaceful, they would always attack him. The first time he was thrown in the ring he tried talking to the other prisoner, did everything he could to try to get it to listen to him, but it didn't work. He still remembers the crunch of its skull when he crushed it, the blood splattering on his face and hands, the dead silence. Then the cheers erupted out of the stands. He hated how these aliens could watch what he did, how they cheered and chanted for him. He doesn't remember the walk back to his cell.

Since then he’s learned to take enjoyment in the fights.

He tries to make the aliens' death quick, so they don’t suffer. After he kills them he’ll go for the ones in the stands. They’re the ones who should be killed, for taking sick enjoyment in the deaths of the other aliens. He’ll snarl and try to fly up towards them, but they have some type of force field around the arena, stopping him from attacking. It's still fun to see them scream and run.

As he finishes his braid and ties it off, he hears the aliens coming back. He can hear more than two sets of foot steps, and he hears chains rattling. He throws his braid over his shoulder so it’s out of the way and starts to stand up, his tail curls briefly in anticipation. He tenses slightly and his wings partially opened, ready for the aliens to come get him and ready to put up a fight.

They round the corner and he eases up a bit because there's only four of the cat/panda aliens and a fifth alien in the middle. It’s a lot taller than the cat/pandas and lankier than them. It's got white hair that covers most of its face. With small white wings on the side of its head, and two sets of wings on its back. They look like they're wearing a suit too. They have chains connecting its wrists and legs together, and chains on their wings.

They look slightly human.

Hybrids are a common sight on earth, he’s a dragon hybrid himself. He's not sure if they speak English or not but he starts shouting at them.
“Hey!” he shouts running up to the bars. The guards stop when shouts, and they all flinch back slightly at him running towards the bars. But he's not paying attention to them, his eyes are locked on the one in the middle. “Do you speak English?” he asks as all five stare at him. They start shaking violently and start pulling on the chains aggressively, but they don't seem strong enough to break out. He watches as they stungle waiting for a response, eyes firmly on them and ignoring the aliens.

As he continues to watch them one of the cat/pandas starts talking to the others. Whatever they're talking about seems to still the one in the middle for a second before they start to struggle more.

His wings and tail droop as the one in the middle starts speaking the same language as the cat/pandas.

They start moving toward his door and he watches as the alien in the middle starts to get more frantic in their pleading. They open the door and throw the one in the middle at him, he steps out of the way and immediately charges the closing door. It slams in his face and he starts to snarl and bang on the door. Frustrated he couldn’t escape he bangs on the door one more time and turns around his braid whipping behind him and tail dragging. He stops in his tracks at the sight of the alien on the ground curled in the far corner trembling.
He stands there for a second not sure what to do, they’ve never thrown an alien in his cell with him. He stares as it starts to try to curl into itself, trembling like crazy and trying to wrap its wings around itself but aren’t able to because of the chains. It's whimpering but in a way that makes it sound like it's trying to be quiet but can't.

It's so scared.

It reminds him of a cat he found once curled in a corner trying to not be seen.

It could be a trick.

But it's so scared he can't help but feel bad.

It wouldn’t even be able to fight back with those chains on it.

Wemmbu decides to ignore the alien for now and heads for his cot. He turns toward the door making sure to watch the alien out of the corner of his eyes just in case it decides to attack. As he sits he observes the alien. It takes what feels like forever for it to start calming down.

It's kind of pathetic.

Wemmbu quickly grows bored of watching the alien and decides to clean the scales on his tale. He hasn’t been able to properly clean his scales, and because of this they’ve lost their shine. Don’t even get him started on the amount of dirt and dried blood he has to pick out from underneath them from his fight.

While he does that Wemmbu watches as the alien starts to peek at him.

It's watching him too.

It’s not very subtle though.

He watches as it untenses slightly once it realizes Wemmbu isn’t watching it. It starts to inspect the chains on its wrists and ankles. It starts to move around, probably trying to get more comfortable, having chains on your wings is never fun for anyone.

He pities it.

Eggchan didn’t mean to get captured by law. But he was attacked on his way back to the End ship. He was piloting a small cruiser to get some more supplies for the bigger ship, as they had run out of a few things. It wasn’t enough to fully land the End ship. So Minute had sent him out for what was supposed to be a quick trip, at most two cycles if he couldn't find everything he needed.

He had gotten everything he had needed and was on the way back to the End ship when it happened. He was forcefully docked on the much bigger law ship and was quickly apprehended. There wasn’t much he could do since he was alone. He barely had enough time to send out a distress signal before the law forced their way into his ship and captured him.

He hoped Minute got the signal.

After the law had restrained him and searched him for weapons, which he complained about, he was led to what looked like a cell area. The four guards leading him seemed to be lower in the ranks as per the strips on their coats.

As they continue to walk he notices how the further they go the less cells there are.

The guards start to get visibly nervous as their hackles raise and they tense up.

He starts to worry about what's down the hall now. He builds up the courage to ask “where are we going?” Egg tries to act non-chalant, but with the slight waver in his voice, he doesn’t think he succeeded.

The guard behind him shoves him slightly with the baton he’s holding. “Quite Criminal!”

Ok you smuggle some illegal information a few dozen times and suddenly you're a criminal! Granted it did lead to a lot of Law Men being killed but that’s besides the point! He's never killed anyone directly, but with how they have him chained up you’d think he did.

As they round the corner he notices a lone cell, he doesn't think much of it until the get to the door.

There's a Tarrian.

He stops.

It’s watching him.

The Law Men notice and they stop too.

It lunges at the cell bars barking in its language. Large wings expand behind it and its tail is flicking at the end.

The Law Men flinch back, but he starts to struggle, his four wings straining against the chains. The Tarrian is solely focused on Egg. It's still like it's waiting for something.

One of the Law Men in the front starts talking.

“What if we throw the seraphim in with it?” he suggested.

“WHat!” Egg shouts, voice cracking in fear. His struggle picks up even more when he realizes the others are agreeing.

“Maybe it’ll calm the damn thing down with how aggressive it is.” The Law Men to his left says.

“Wait, please you can’t be serious!” he says as two grab his arms and start dragging him to the door. The other two Law Men are at the door ready to open it.

“Stop, please I'll tell you anything! Just don’t put me in there with it, please!” His please fall an deaf ears as the door opens and he's thrown straight at the Tarrian. It side steps him with ease and goes straight for the closing door. The door slams in its face and it lets out a loud snarl and bangs on the door, tail thrashing behind it. It hits the door a few more times before it whips around towards Egg.

While the Tarrian was distracted, Egg had pushed himself into the corner. He was trying to be as still and quiet as possible. Instinctively his wings were trying to wrap around him to hide, despite the chains stopping him.

It stopped and stared at him.

He was going to die.

He shut his eyes and braced himself.

After a few moments of silence he peeked one eye open to watch the Tarrian. Its wings had folded behind it and its tail was still on the floor as it watched him. It continued to stare before it abruptly turned to its nest of blankets in the corner and sat down. It pulled its tail in front of itself and started to pick at the scales.

It seems that it is ignoring him for now, so he starts to inspect the chains. They are made with iron, impossible to break on his own. He starts to shift his wings trying to get comfortable, but quickly gets irritated with the fact that he can’t. He lets out a huge sigh. He wishes he knew if Minute got the signal. He is lucky enough that this is one of the smaller Law ships, but even then it's still massive compared to the End ship.

After a few clicks of failing to get comfortable he gives up. He leans back against the wall in defeat. He decides to look at his new cell mate.

It's staring at him.

Egg startles hard, flinching into the wall, he starts to shake violently.

Oh Cosmos how long has it been staring?! He didn’t even notice! Did he piss it off with all the moving around he did?!

All Egg can do is watch as it realizes he's watching it back. It perks up and its tail moves behind it. It slowly gets up. And starts walking towards Egg.

‘This is it’ Egg thinks. ‘I'm sorry Minute, I hope I made you proud.’

As the Tarrian stops in front of him, he closes his eyes for what will probably be the last time.
