Work Text:
The world Taehyun lived in was built on rules.
Omegas were expected to behave a certain way. They were supposed to be careful about where they went, who they spoke to, and-most importantly-who they allowed close to them.
Taehyun hated every single one of those rules.
At sixteen, he was a free spirit with a stubborn streak that seemed impossible to tame. And tonight, he'd decided that he wasn't going to let anyone tell him what he could or couldn't do.
Which was exactly how he had ended up standing outside one of the city's most exclusive clubs with a fake ID tucked between his fingers.
He handed it to the bouncer, trying his best not to look nervous.
The man glanced at it.
Then at Taehyun.
Then back at the card.
Taehyun held his breath.
Finally, the bouncer stepped aside.
"Enjoy your night."
Taehyun smiled brightly. "I will."
He disappeared inside before the man could change his mind.
The music hit him immediately.
Lights flashed across the crowded room, the bass vibrating through the floor as Taehyun made his way toward the bar. For the first time all week, he felt free.
He ordered a drink and leaned against the counter, watching the crowd.
He didn't notice the man across the room watching him.
Beomgyu had come to the club after finishing another exhausting week at his fashion studio. At twenty-four, he was already making a name for himself as a designer, but success came with long nights, endless meetings, and very little time to breathe.
Tonight was supposed to be an escape.
Instead, something-or rather, someone-caught his attention.
A young omega stood alone at the bar.
There was something different about him.
Not just his appearance, but the way he carried himself. He didn't seem interested in impressing anyone. He simply existed as though the entire room belonged to him.
Then Beomgyu caught his scent.
Sweet.
Subtle beneath the overwhelming perfume and alcohol in the club, but impossible for an alpha to completely ignore.
Beomgyu hesitated before approaching.
"You're alone?"
Taehyun turned.
His eyes traveled over Beomgyu for a moment before he smiled.
"Maybe."
Beomgyu raised an eyebrow. "Maybe?"
"Depends. Are you going to make me regret talking to you?"
A quiet laugh escaped Beomgyu.
"I don't think so."
"Then maybe I'm not alone anymore."
They talked.
At first, it was meaningless things-the music, the terrible drinks, the strange people surrounding them. But somehow, minutes turned into an hour.
Taehyun found himself laughing more than he'd expected.
Beomgyu found himself forgetting that he'd planned to leave early.
Eventually, the noise of the club became too much.
"Want somewhere quieter?" Beomgyu asked.
Taehyun studied him.
Then nodded.
"Okay."
They left the main floor and walked toward one of the private rooms upstairs.
The moment the door closed behind them, the music became nothing more than a distant thump.
Taehyun leaned against the wall, looking at Beomgyu.
For a moment, neither spoke.
There was an unspoken tension between them, but Beomgyu didn't rush him.
"If you want to leave," Beomgyu said quietly, "we can."
Taehyun's expression softened. "I'm not leaving."
Beomgyu nodded.
He stepped closer. No softness in his eyes. Just heat.
Taehyun’s scent was already thickening in the small space.
Sweet. Warm. Omega.
Beomgyu’s alpha instincts stirred hard under his skin.
He took Taehyun’s face in his hands.
Kissed him slow at first.
Deep.
Then harder when Taehyun kissed back.
Beomgyu’s hands slid under Taehyun’s shirt.
Pushed it up.
Pulled it off.
Then his own.
Skin met skin.
Hot.
Beomgyu’s mouth moved down.
He licked over one nipple.
Slow.
Then closed his lips around it and sucked.
Taehyun’s breath hitched. “Ah…”
Beomgyu took his time.
Tongue circling.
Sucking deeper.
Teeth grazing until the nipple was wet and swollen.
Then he moved to the other one.
Same slow attention.
Licking. Sucking. Playing with it until Taehyun was shifting against the wall.
Only then did he drop to his knees.
He pulled Taehyun’s pants and underwear down.
Taehyun stepped out of them.
Already hard.
Slick glistening on his thighs.
Beomgyu turned him around. Pressed him face-first against the wall. Spread him open with both hands.
He pushed one finger inside first.
Slow.
Deep.
Feeling the way Taehyun clenched around him.
Then a second.
Scissoring gently at first.
Then harder.
Stretching him open while Taehyun’s breathing grew louder.
Beomgyu leaned in. And licked over his hole.
Taehyun gasped. “aahh—”
Beomgyu licked again.
Slow. Broad.
Then circled the rim with the tip of his tongue.
Pushed inside alongside his fingers.
Sucking. Licking.
Taking his time.
The wet sounds filled the quiet room.
He kept at it.
Fingers curling deep.
Tongue working him open.
Every time Taehyun’s moans got higher, Beomgyu slowed down.
Drew it out.
Made him feel every second of it.
Only when Taehyun was trembling and pushing back against his mouth did Beomgyu stand.
He spun Taehyun around.
Lifted one of his legs and hooked it over his arm.The head of his cock pressed against Taehyun’s entrance.
He pushed in.
Slow.
Deep.
Inch by inch until he was buried to the hilt.
Both of them groaned.
Beomgyu stayed still for a moment.
Forehead against Taehyun’s.
Feeling how tight and hot he was.
Then he started to move.
Deep.
Steady.
Pulling almost all the way out before sliding back in to the root.
The wet sound of it was filthy and slow.
Taehyun’s arms wrapped around him.
Nails digging into Beomgyu’s back.
Scratching down as the pace stayed deep and unhurried.
“Ah… ah…”
Beomgyu’s mouth found his nipple again.
Sucked on it while he fucked him.
Tongue flicking.
Teeth tugging.
Switching between both until they were red and sensitive.
The thrusts stayed deep.
Heavy.
Rough in the way he ground in at the end of every stroke.
But never rushed.
Taehyun’s moans grew louder. Echoing off the walls.
His nails raked down Beomgyu’s back again.
Leaving long stinging lines.
Beomgyu’s voice was low against his ear.
“You take me so well.”
He kept the rhythm.
Deep.
Rough.
Unhurried.
Every thrust dragging against that spot inside Taehyun until his legs were shaking.
Whenever Taehyun’s body started to tighten too much,
Beomgyu slowed even further.
Pulled out almost completely.
Waited until Taehyun was panting and cursing.
Then pushed back in to the hilt in one long stroke.
“Not yet.”
Taehyun’s head fell back against the wall. Loud, broken moans spilling out of him.
“Please… fuck… please—”
Beomgyu finally let his knot begin to swell. He thrust deeper.
Forcing the thickening knot inside with slow, heavy pushes until it locked them together.
Taehyun cried out.
Loud.
His hole clenched tight around the knot.
Beomgyu came hard. Pumping deep inside him.
Pulse after pulse while the knot held them locked.
Taehyun followed right after.
Spilling between their stomachs with a shattered moan.
Nails still buried in Beomgyu’s back.
Body shaking through it.
They stayed pressed together.
Breathing hard.
Sweat-slick skin.
The heavy scent of sex and alpha and omega thick in the air.
No soft words.
No promises.
Just the sound of their heavy breathing and the distant thump of music outside.
One night. That was all it was.

Taehyun woke up slowly.
Sunlight filtered through the half-open curtains.
His body felt heavy.
Warm.
He shifted under the sheets—
and winced slightly.
Beomgyu was already up. Resting against the headboard. Phone in his hand. Scrolling without much interest.
He glanced over when he felt the movement.
A small smirk tugged at his mouth.
“You ok?”
Taehyun nodded. Voice still rough from sleep.
“Just sore.”
Beomgyu nodded once.
He reached to the side of the bed and picked up a folded set of clothes.
His own shirt and pants, clean enough.
He held them out.
“Get ready. I will drop you home.”
Taehyun looked at him for a moment.Took the clothes.
“You always dropped your stand-ins?” he asked quietly.
Beomgyu shook his head.
He locked his phone and set it aside. Stood up from the bed. Already fully dressed.
“Only the ones who need it,” he said.
Voice even.
No softness.
No extra meaning.
He walked toward the door of the bedroom. Paused just long enough to glance back.
“Bathroom’s that way. I’ll wait outside.”
Then he left the room.
Taehyun sat there for a second longer. Clothes in his lap.
Body still aching in places.

Later, in the car.
Taehyun sat in the passenger seat.Quiet for a while.
Then he spoke.
“Well… we didn’t even know each other’s name.”
Beomgyu kept his eyes on the road.
He nodded once.
“We didn’t need to.It’s just a one night.”
Taehyun nodded.
A few seconds passed.
Beomgyu spoke again.
“Well. If you ever need to find me…
you can come to that same club again.”
Taehyun nodded once more.
He glanced at Beomgyu’s profile.
“What do you do?”
Beomgyu answered without looking over.
“CEO of a fashion design company.”
Taehyun’s eyes widened.
He turned his head fully toward him.
Beomgyu finally glanced over.
“You?”
Taehyun answered simply.
“I’m in last year of my school.”
Beomgyu’s foot pressed the brake hard.
The car jolted.
“What?!
Your age?!”
Taehyun looked confused by the reaction.
“Sixteen.”
Beomgyu’s eyes widened.
His hands tightened on the steering wheel.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
The only sound was the low hum of the engine
and the faint noise of traffic outside.
Beomgyu looked at him.
“Are you out of your mind?! Why didn’t you tell me?!
I literally fucked a teenager!!!”
Taehyun blinked.Still confused. "I thought that's alright."
Beomgyu dragged a hand down his face.
Hard.
“That’s not the point. You’re still in school. Last year. I thought you were at least—”
He stopped himself. Exhaled sharply through his nose.
“Fuck.”
Taehyun shifted in the seat. Winced a little from the lingering soreness.
“You didn’t ask.”
Beomgyu let out a short, humorless laugh.
“Yeah. Because I didn’t think I needed to.You were in a club. Drinking. Looking like—”
He cut himself off again.
Jaw tight.
Silence filled the car.
Beomgyu stared straight ahead. Hands still gripping the wheel too hard.
“How old do you even think I am?” he asked after a moment.
Taehyun hesitated. “Twenty-one? Twenty-two?”
Beomgyu closed his eyes briefly. “Twenty four”
Taehyun’s eyes widened a little. “…Oh.”
Beomgyu continued.
“You don’t know me. I don’t know you. What if I had been someone dangerous? What if something had gone wrong? You just went with it. No questions.
No caution.”
His hands tightened on the wheel.
“And you didn’t even think about protection beyond the obvious. You’re an omega. In heat or not, you should be more careful. One night and you could end up dealing with consequences you’re not ready for.”
Taehyun’s ears turned a little red, but he didn’t argue.
A few minutes later, Beomgyu suddenly pulled over.
Stopped in front of a pharmacy.
He got out without a word. Came back a few minutes later with a small paper bag. Dropped it onto Taehyun’s lap.
“Birth control. Take it when you reach home. Follow the instructions inside.”
Taehyun looked down at the bag. Then up at him.
Beomgyu started the car again. Eyes on the road.
“I’m serious. Don’t skip it. And next time…if there even is a next time with anyone… think before you act.”
The rest of the drive stayed quiet. Except for Beomgyu’s occasional low muttering under his breath.
When they finally stopped in front of Taehyun’s place,
Beomgyu didn’t look at him for long.
Taehyun reached for the door.
"Hey listen.."
He looked back.
Beomgyu's expression was serious.
“Go.Take the pills. And be more careful.”
"Whatever happened tonight, we're leaving it here. You go back to your life. I go back to mine."
Taehyun nodded slowly.
"Okay."
Taehyun reached for the door, but before stepping out, he turned back.
"Goodbye, ajushi," he said with a playful wink.
Taehyun stepped out of the car. Paper bag in hand.
Then he shut the door and walked away.
Beomgyu remained completely still.
He stared through the windshield, unable to process what had just happened.
"Ajushi..." he muttered incredulously.
But the tiny smile that had appeared on his face disappeared almost immediately.
His thoughts returned to one thing.
Sixteen.
Taehyun was sixteen.
Beomgyu's face went pale again.
"I'm twenty-four," he whispered to himself. "He's sixteen."
He dropped his head against the steering wheel.
"What the hell was I thinking?"
The realization hit him all over again, leaving him deeply shaken.
He had believed he was spending the night with an adult.
Instead, he had unknowingly crossed a line that could never be undone.
Beomgyu sat there for several minutes, staring at the empty street where Taehyun had disappeared.
One thing was certain.
He could never let this happen again
Beomgyu drove off without another word.
He could never let this happen again.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
And from that morning onward, Beomgyu decided he would stay far away from Taehyun.
They never crossed paths again.
Beomgyu kept his promise.
He never returned to the club where he'd met Taehyun. Whenever his friends suggested it, he'd find an excuse to go somewhere else.
Life moved forward.
He dated a few people over the next several years-omegas, betas, people who seemed to fit perfectly into the life he'd built.
But something always held him back.
He never let anyone get too close.
Sometimes, late at night, his mind returned to that strange night and the sixteen-year-old omega he'd met.
He wondered if Taehyun was okay.
Then he'd force himself to stop thinking about it.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
Meanwhile, Taehyun's life changed completely.
A few weeks after that night, something impossible happened.
His body began reacting to the unusual bond he'd unknowingly formed.
A doctor confirmed what Taehyun had been desperately afraid to hear.
There was a baby.
Taehyun sat silently in the examination room, staring at the results in his trembling hands.
He was sixteen.
He was still supposed to be worrying about school, exams, friends and what he wanted to become.
Instead, he was going to become a parent.
When he told his parents, their reaction wasn't what he'd hoped for.
They were furious.
Eventually, they left him to deal with everything alone.
His friends weren't any kinder.
Whispers followed him through school corridors.
People laughed.
Some made cruel comments about his changing appearance.
Taehyun pretended not to hear them.
Every day, he came home exhausted, placed a hand over his stomach, and reminded himself of one thing.
The baby hadn't done anything wrong.
So Taehyun refused to abandon them.
He kept going.
He finished school.
He learned how to prepare for the baby's arrival.
He endured the loneliness, the judgment, and the nights when he wondered whether he was strong enough.
But whenever fear overwhelmed him, he'd whisper softly,
"Don't worry. I'll be here."
And he was.
Years passed.
Taehyun grew older.
The little baby he'd once been terrified of became the center of his world.
By the time Taehyun was twenty, he had built a quiet life for the two of them.
He had no idea that somewhere across the city, Beomgyu was living his own life.
And neither of them knew that fate had already decided their paths would cross again.
Four years after that night.
This time, Taehyun wouldn't be alone.

One evening, Beomgyu was sitting in a high-class restaurant with his recent beta boyfriend.
The place was elegant and quiet, with soft music playing in the background. After ordering their food, they settled into their seats and continued their conversation.
A few minutes later, a waiter approached their table carrying their dishes.
"Here you go. Enjoy your meal."
Beomgyu absentmindedly glanced up.
And froze.
The plate in his hand almost slipped.
Those eyes.
That face.
Four years had passed, but Beomgyu recognized him immediately.
The boy from that night.
The sixteen-year-old he'd never seen again.
Except he wasn't a boy anymore.
He was twenty now.
Taehyun had changed. His features were more mature, and there was a calmness about him that Beomgyu didn't remember. Yet those eyes were unmistakable.
Taehyun was arranging the dishes when he suddenly noticed Beomgyu staring at him.
Their eyes met.
Taehyun stopped.
For a moment, neither moved.
Beomgyu's heart pounded.
He didn't know his name.
He had never known his name.
Yet somehow, after four years, he remembered him perfectly.
Taehyun's expression slowly changed as recognition dawned on him too.
His eyes widened slightly.
It was him.
The man from that night.
The man who had told him they should never meet again.
Neither of them said anything.
Beomgyu's boyfriend looked between them, confused.
"Do you two know each other?"
Taehyun immediately lowered his gaze.
"No."
His answer was quiet.
Then he stepped back from the table.
"Excuse me."
He turned and walked away.
Beomgyu watched him disappear toward the kitchen.
His boyfriend frowned.
"You were staring at him."
Beomgyu finally looked away.
"I thought he was someone I knew."
"Someone you knew?"
Beomgyu paused.
"Someone I met a long time ago."
He didn't say anything more.
But for the rest of the evening, Beomgyu couldn't concentrate on the conversation.
Because after four years, the stranger whose name he had never even learned had suddenly appeared in front of him again.
Throughout dinner, Beomgyu found it nearly impossible to concentrate.
His eyes kept drifting toward the waiter.
The stranger from four years ago.
He watched as Taehyun moved between the tables, carrying plates and drinks with practiced ease.
Then Beomgyu noticed something that made his jaw tighten.
A group of older alpha customers had started bothering Taehyun.
One of them reached toward him unnecessarily as Taehyun placed a glass on the table.
Taehyun immediately stepped back.
"Please don't touch me, sir."
The alpha laughed.
"Relax. We're only joking."
Taehyun forced a polite smile and continued working.
Another customer called him back moments later, speaking to him rudely when he'd done nothing wrong.
Beomgyu's fingers tightened around his fork.
He hated the way they were treating him.
Every instinct in him screamed to intervene, but he knew he couldn't simply cause a scene in the middle of the restaurant.
So he took a slow breath and looked back at the person sitting across from him.
Jungwon.
"Sorry," Beomgyu said. "I wasn't listening."
Jungwon smiled faintly. "You've been distracted all evening."
"I've just had a lot on my mind."
Beomgyu tried to focus on their conversation.
He really did.
But every few seconds, his gaze betrayed him.
Across the restaurant, Taehyun was still working.
And despite everything that had happened four years ago, Beomgyu couldn't stop wondering what kind of life that stranger had lived after they parted ways.
Finally, Beomgyu pushed his chair back.
"Ready?" Jungwon asked.
Beomgyu nodded. "Yeah."
They stood and gathered their things before heading toward the entrance.
Beomgyu tried not to look back.
He failed.
Just before reaching the door, his eyes found the familiar figure again.
Taehyun was carrying a tray toward another table, completely focused on his work.
For a brief moment, their eyes met.
Taehyun stopped.
Beomgyu did too.
Neither said anything.
Then Taehyun looked away first.
Beomgyu turned toward the entrance and followed Jungwon outside.
The restaurant doors closed behind them.
Yet even as they walked toward the car, Beomgyu couldn't shake the feeling that leaving had been strangely difficult.
Four years ago, he'd thought walking away from that stranger would be the end of the story.
Apparently, he had been wrong.

Later that night, Taehyun finally returned home.
He quietly unlocked the door and stepped inside, exhausted after another long shift.
The apartment was silent.
He slipped off his shoes and walked toward the living room.
Then he stopped.
There, curled up on the little couch, was his three-year-old toddler.
The child was sleeping peacefully, tiny arms wrapped around a worn bear plushie.
A soft smile appeared on Taehyun's face.
For a moment, everything else disappeared.
The exhaustion.
The humiliation.
The cruel words he'd heard throughout the years.
None of it mattered when he looked at his little one.
Taehyun carefully picked him up, making sure not to wake him.
The toddler stirred slightly before settling against his chest.
Taehyun closed his eyes and breathed in that familiar, sweet scent.
He gently kissed his chubby cheek.
"Sorry... Appa is late again," he whispered.
The toddler remained asleep.
Taehyun carried him toward the bedroom and carefully sat down, keeping him nestled safely against his chest.
His smile slowly faded.
"Today..." he murmured, staring at his sleeping child. "I met your father."
He swallowed.
"He seemed... like he's doing good."
A pause.
"He's even with some guy."
Taehyun looked down.
"I think... maybe he's already married."
His voice became quieter.
"Maybe he's happy."
A tear slipped down his cheek.
Taehyun quickly wiped it away, but another followed.
He didn't make a sound.
He simply held his child a little closer while the apartment remained completely silent around them.

Meanwhile, in Beomgyu's luxury apartment, the night was completely quiet.
Beomgyu sat on the edge of his bed, staring blankly toward the window.
Jungwon was asleep nearby, peaceful and completely unaware of the thoughts running through Beomgyu's mind.
But Beomgyu couldn't stop thinking about the omega he'd seen at the restaurant.
Four years.
And somehow, seeing him again had brought everything back.
That night.
The brief conversation.
The promise that they would never cross paths again.
Beomgyu sighed and squeezed his eyes shut, trying to push the memories away.
Why was he thinking about him now?
He had moved on.
At least, that's what he'd always told himself.
Suddenly, Jungwon stirred.
"Beomgyu...?" he murmured sleepily.
Beomgyu immediately looked over.
"Yeah?"
Jungwon rubbed his eyes and studied him.
"You okay? You've been quiet."
Beomgyu hesitated.
Then he gave a small nod.
"Yeah. I'm fine."
But even as he said it, the image of that familiar face remained stubbornly in his mind.
A few days passed.

In Taehyun's small apartment, the afternoon was peaceful.
Haru sat on the living-room floor, completely absorbed in playing with a little toy car. He pushed it across the carpet, making quiet little engine noises under his breath.
Taehyun walked in from the kitchen carrying a tray of food.
"Come here, Haru."
Haru immediately looked up.
"Appa!"
He abandoned the toy car and hurried toward Taehyun.
Taehyun smiled and crouched down, placing the tray safely on the table.
"Did you wash your hands?"
Haru nodded enthusiastically.
"Yes!"
Taehyun narrowed his eyes playfully.
"Really?"
Haru giggled.
"Really!"
Taehyun shook his head with a laugh and gently took his little hand.
"Alright, then. Come eat."
Haru climbed onto his chair, still holding his toy car.
"Car eat too?"
Taehyun chuckled.
"Your car already had lunch."
Haru looked at the toy seriously before placing it beside his plate.
"Okay."
Taehyun watched him with a soft smile.
No matter how difficult his life became, moments like this reminded him why he kept going.
Taehyun sat beside Haru, patiently feeding him small bites.
"Open," he said softly.
Haru obediently opened his mouth.
"Ahhh."
Taehyun smiled and gave him another bite.
"Good boy."
Haru kicked his little legs happily while eating, occasionally getting distracted by his toy car sitting beside his plate.
"Food first," Taehyun reminded him.
"Okay, Appa."
Taehyun couldn't help smiling.

Across the city, Beomgyu sat inside his office cabin, staring at the sketches spread across his desk.
He had been working on his next fashion project for almost an hour.
Yet barely anything had been accomplished.
His mind kept wandering.
Especially toward a certain omega he'd seen at the restaurant.
A knock interrupted his thoughts.
The door opened, and Jungwon stepped inside.
"Gyu."
Beomgyu looked up.
Jungwon walked toward the desk and leaned against it.
"You know, you look really distracted these last few days."
"I'm fine."
Jungwon gave him a skeptical look.
"Especially since you met that waiter."
Beomgyu's eyes immediately lifted.
"It was nothing."
Jungwon didn't argue.
"You sure?"
"Yeah. You're just thinking too much."
Jungwon studied him for a moment before simply nodding.
"Okay."
A brief silence followed.
Then Jungwon suddenly smiled.
"Well... should we go to an amusement park date?"
Beomgyu slowly looked up from his sketches.
"Are you five?"
Jungwon shook his head seriously.
"No."
"Then?"
"I just want to try something new."
Beomgyu narrowed his eyes.
"We're both twenty-eight."
Jungwon puffed out his cheeks.
"Age doesn't mean we can't have fun."
Beomgyu stared at him.
Jungwon clasped his hands together.
"Pleaseeee~~~"
Beomgyu sighed.
"Fine."
Jungwon immediately brightened.
"Really?"
"Yes. Now let me work."
"Yay!"
Jungwon practically bounced toward the door.
Beomgyu shook his head with a small smile.
For the first time in days, his thoughts were briefly somewhere else.
At least, until that familiar face inevitably returned to his mind.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
That night, Beomgyu and Jungwon arrived at the amusement park.
The moment they entered, Jungwon's eyes lit up.
"Where first?"
Beomgyu laughed. "You dragged me here. You decide."
They started with the rides.
A few minutes later, Beomgyu was regretting every decision that had led him onto the spinning ride while Jungwon laughed beside him.
"You're scared!"
"I'm not scared!"
"You've been holding onto the bar for five minutes!"
"Shut up!"
They laughed until their stomachs hurt.
Later, they bought cotton candy and wandered through the park, taking ridiculous photos together.
Jungwon insisted on taking one where Beomgyu had cotton candy stuck to his nose.
"Delete that."
"No!"
"Jungwon."
"It's cute!"
Beomgyu shook his head, laughing.
Everything felt easy.
Normal.
For the first time in days, Beomgyu wasn't thinking about work or the mysterious waiter from the restaurant.
Then-
Someone tugged at his pant leg.
Beomgyu stopped.
He looked down.
A tiny boy stood beside him.
The little boy held a small toy car in one hand and stared up at Beomgyu with curious eyes.
Beomgyu blinked.
"Uh... hello?"
The child said nothing.
He simply continued looking at him.
Jungwon crouched slightly.
"Hey, little guy. Are you lost?"
The toddler's eyes filled with tears.
"Aww... don't cry, cutie pie. Come here."
Before Beomgyu could react, Jungwon carefully picked him up.
"Hey! You can't just pick up someone's child," Beomgyu scolded.
Jungwon looked at him.
"Look at him! He looks lost."
Beomgyu sighed and nodded.
"Still."
Jungwon simply shrugged.
Then he looked at the toddler again and grinned.
"Well... doesn't he kind of look like you?"
Beomgyu raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
Jungwon chuckled.
"If we ever had a child, they'd probably look like him."
Beomgyu rolled his eyes.
"Stop saying nonsense."
Jungwon laughed, while the toddler quietly rested against his shoulder.
Jungwon looked around the crowded amusement park.
"Okay... now what?"
Beomgyu sighed. "We need to find his parents."
They tried asking the nearby staff if anyone had reported a missing child. A staff member pointed them toward the information booth, so they started walking in that direction.
But the toddler suddenly became restless in Jungwon's arms.
"Hey, hey... it's okay," Jungwon murmured. "We're going to find your parents."
Beomgyu glanced around anxiously.
"Do you know where they are?"
The toddler only stared at him.
They checked around the nearby rides, food stalls, and benches, but there was no sign of anyone searching for him.
Then-
"Haru!!"
The toddler immediately became alert.
His little head turned toward the voice, eyes widening as he looked around.
"Appa!"
Beomgyu and Jungwon both froze.
Someone was calling the child's name again.
"Haru!"
The toddler stretched his arms toward the sound.
Jungwon followed his gaze.
"Someone's looking for him."
Beomgyu turned toward the crowd.
And then he saw a familiar figure running toward them.
Taehyun's face went pale.
So did Beomgyu's.
For several seconds, nobody said a word.
Jungwon looked between them, clearly confused. Then recognition slowly crossed his face.
"You're from that restaurant, right?"
Taehyun swallowed and nodded.
"Yeah..."
His voice was barely audible.
He adjusted Haru in his arms and gave Jungwon a small, polite bow.
"Thank you... for looking after him."
Before either of them could say anything else, Taehyun turned around and started walking away.
"Wait."
Beomgyu's voice stopped him.
Taehyun froze.
Beomgyu glanced at Jungwon before looking back at Taehyun.
"You should be more careful," he said, his voice stern. "How can you be so careless with a child?"
Taehyun's fingers tightened around Haru.
Beomgyu continued, his frustration getting the better of him.
"And if you can't raise a child properly, then why did you even have one?"
Taehyun went completely silent.
His eyes filled with tears.
For a moment, Beomgyu thought he might say something.
But Taehyun didn't.
He simply lowered his gaze, turned around, and walked away with Haru in his arms.
Jungwon watched him disappear into the crowd.
Then he slowly turned toward Beomgyu.
"That was... harsh."
Beomgyu said nothing.
His eyes remained fixed on the direction Taehyun had gone.
After that, they continued their date.
Jungwon seemed to forget about the omega and the child almost immediately. He dragged Beomgyu toward another ride, bought another cotton candy, and spent the rest of the evening laughing as if nothing unusual had happened.
Beomgyu tried to do the same.
But he couldn't.
Even while smiling at Jungwon, his mind kept returning to what had happened.
That little boy.
Haru.
And Taehyun.
When they finally returned home that night, Jungwon was still talking excitedly about the rides they'd gone on.
Beomgyu listened quietly.
But his thoughts were somewhere else.
He remembered Jungwon's teasing comment from earlier.
"If we ever had a child, they'd probably look like him."
At the time, Beomgyu had dismissed it.
Now, the memory wouldn't leave him alone.
The little boy had looked strangely familiar.
Beomgyu shook his head.
"That's ridiculous," he muttered to himself.
There was no reason to think that way.
It had been four years.
Four years since he'd seen that omega.
Four years since he'd promised himself they'd never cross paths again.
Yet over the next few days, Beomgyu couldn't focus properly.
At work, he stared at sketches without really seeing them.
During meetings, he caught himself drifting off.
Even when he was with Jungwon, his thoughts wandered.
Taehyun.
And the little boy.
He kept remembering the way Taehyun had rushed toward the child.
The way he'd called him my baby.
The protective way he'd held him.
And those familiar eyes.
Beomgyu sighed and leaned back in his chair.
"Why can't I stop thinking about them?"
He had no answer.
But somewhere deep inside, an uncomfortable question had already begun to form.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
Finally, Beomgyu had enough.
He went back to the same restaurant where he'd seen the omega working.
But when he entered, Taehyun was nowhere to be seen.
Beomgyu approached one of the waiters.
"Where's the waiter who was working here a few days ago?"
"He went upstairs to serve."
Beomgyu immediately headed upstairs.
The moment he reached the second floor, he froze.
One of the older alpha customers had Taehyun caged against the wall.
"Back off."
The alpha glanced at Beomgyu but ignored him.
"Mind your own business."
"Move away from him."
Instead, the alpha deliberately placed a hand on Taehyun's hip.
Beomgyu snapped.
He punched the alpha, then again, his anger taking over until Taehyun grabbed his arm.
"Stop!"
Beomgyu finally stepped back.
Before Taehyun could say anything else, Beomgyu grabbed his wrist and pulled him outside.
Once they reached the parking lot, Beomgyu released him and took several deep breaths.
Then he turned around.
His eyes were full of anger.
Taehyun immediately looked down.
"Is that child mine?"
Taehyun's eyes widened.
He remained silent.
"I'm asking you something, damn it!"
Taehyun flinched.
"Is that child mine?"
Beomgyu stepped closer.
He gently but firmly caught Taehyun's chin, making him look up.
"Answer me."
Taehyun's eyes filled with tears.
After a long silence, he slowly nodded.
Beomgyu's hand immediately dropped from his chin.
For several seconds, he just stared at him.
Then, overwhelmed by the revelation, Beomgyu turned away and slammed his fist against the wall beside Taehyun's head.
Taehyun startled.
Beomgyu kept his forehead lowered, breathing heavily.
That little boy.
The child he'd seen at the amusement park.
He was his.
After four years, Beomgyu had finally found out that he had a child.
"Why didn't you tell me?!"
Beomgyu's voice echoed through the quiet parking lot.
Taehyun's tears finally spilled over.
He angrily wiped them away with the back of his hand and looked straight at him.
"Tell you?!"
His voice trembled with hurt.
"You didn't even tell me your name!"
Beomgyu froze.
Taehyun continued, his voice breaking.
"You told me it was just one night! You told me we should forget about it and never see each other again!"
He wiped his cheeks again.
"So how the hell was I supposed to find you?!"
Silence.
Beomgyu couldn't answer.
Because Taehyun was right.
He remembered that morning perfectly.
He had discovered Taehyun was sixteen and had immediately told him they could never meet again. He hadn't given Taehyun his name. He hadn't left any way for Taehyun to contact him.
He had simply walked away.
At the time, Beomgyu had believed distancing himself was the only responsible thing he could do.
He had never imagined that the strange bond between them could have consequences.
And now-
Four years later-
There was a child.
A child he hadn't even known existed.
Beomgyu's anger slowly disappeared, replaced by shock and guilt.
He looked at Taehyun.
For the first time, he didn't see the reckless teenager he'd remembered from that night.
He saw someone who had been carrying an enormous secret alone.
"I..." Beomgyu started.
But nothing came out.
Taehyun gave a bitter little laugh through his tears.
"Exactly."
He turned away.
"You didn't want to know me then."
His voice became quieter.
"So I learned how to live without you."
Beomgyu looked at him for a long moment.
For once, he had nothing to say.
The anger that had been burning inside him slowly faded, replaced by something heavier-regret.
"I..." Beomgyu swallowed. "I'm Beomgyu. Choi Beomgyu."
Taehyun looked at him quietly.
"Taehyun..." he murmured. "My name."
Beomgyu blinked.
"Only Taehyun?"
Taehyun nodded.
"My parents disowned me," he said, his voice quieter now. "So I disowned their name."
Beomgyu's expression changed.
He stared at Taehyun, realizing how much of his life had happened without him knowing.
For four years, he had known nothing about this person.
Not his name.
Not his life.
Not what he'd gone through.
And yet somehow, that stranger from one night had become someone standing right in front of him-with a child who carried pieces of them both.
Beomgyu lowered his gaze.
"I'm sorry," he whispered.
Taehyun looked away.
"Don't be," he replied softly. "You didn't know."
"But I should've."
Taehyun didn't answer.
For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.
Then Taehyun took a small breath.
"Now you know my name."
He looked back at Beomgyu.
"Choi Beomgyu."
Beomgyu nodded.
"Taehyun."
For the first time, they said each other's names aloud.
And somehow, it felt like the beginning of something neither of them had expected.
"I'll drop you," Beomgyu said.
Taehyun immediately shook his head.
"I'm still on shift."
Beomgyu's eyes darkened.
"You're not going back inside that restaurant."
Taehyun frowned. "Why?"
"Those alphas were looking at you like..." Beomgyu stopped himself, jaw tightening. He couldn't even bring himself to finish the sentence.
Taehyun sighed.
"It doesn't matter. I need money." His voice was firm. "And this is the only job that pays me well enough."
He turned to walk back toward the restaurant.
Before he could take another step, Beomgyu caught his wrist.
"No."
Taehyun looked down at his hand, then slowly raised his eyes.
Beomgyu hesitated before speaking.
"If you want... you can work for me."
Taehyun narrowed his eyes.
"What?"
Beomgyu sighed, suddenly unsure of how to explain it.
"You can..." He paused. "Be my P.A. Personal assistant."
Taehyun stared at him.
"Your personal assistant?"
"Yeah."
"You?"
"Yes, me."
Taehyun gave him a skeptical look.
"You're offering me a job because you don't want me working here?"
Beomgyu went quiet.
"...Maybe."
Taehyun pulled his wrist free.
"And what makes you think I'd agree?"
Beomgyu looked at him seriously.
"Because it pays better."
Taehyun's expression faltered.
Beomgyu continued, quieter this time.
"And you wouldn't have to deal with those people anymore."
Taehyun studied him for several seconds.
"You really mean it?"
Beomgyu nodded.
"I do."
Taehyun looked toward the restaurant, then back at Beomgyu.
"Then... I'll think about it."
He turned away and went inside the restaurant.
⋆。゚✶° ✧ °✶゚。⋆
Outside, Beomgyu actually waited.
He stood outside the restaurant until Taehyun's shift ended, despite knowing he could have gone home hours ago.
When Taehyun finally came out, he looked surprised to see him still there.
"I'll drop you," Beomgyu said.
Taehyun shook his head. "No, it's fine-"
Beomgyu stepped in front of him, stopping his way.
"I'm not asking, Taehyun."
Taehyun stared at him for a moment before letting out a quiet sigh.
Beomgyu opened the passenger door for him.
Taehyun hesitated, then got inside.
The ride was mostly silent.
Neither of them seemed to know what to say.
After a while, Beomgyu finally spoke.
"What did... you name him?"
Taehyun looked out the window.
"Haru."
Beomgyu nodded slowly.
"Haru..."
He repeated the name under his breath a few times, as if trying to get used to saying it.
"It's a nice name."
Taehyun glanced at him.
"I know."
A tiny smile appeared on Beomgyu's face.
Soon, the apartment building came into view.
Taehyun got out of the car, and Beomgyu followed.
They walked toward the entrance together.
Beomgyu suddenly stopped.
"Can... I meet him?"
Taehyun looked at him uncertainly.
His hand remained on the door handle for several seconds.
Then he quietly nodded.
"Okay."
Taehyun unlocked the door.
The apartment was quiet.
Their eyes immediately landed on the couch.
Haru was fast asleep, curled up against the cushions with his little bear tucked tightly in his arms.
Beomgyu froze.
Something inside him broke and rejoined all at once.
His eyes quickly filled with tears.
That little boy was real.
His son.
For four years, Beomgyu hadn't even known he existed.
He slowly stepped inside, almost afraid that one wrong movement would wake him.
Then he looked at Taehyun.
"C-can I?"
Taehyun understood what he meant.
After a moment, he nodded.
Beomgyu carefully approached the couch.
Beomgyu stayed crouched beside the couch, staring at Haru.
The little boy was still fast asleep, curled up against the cushions with his bear tucked securely beneath his arm.
Beomgyu's eyes became teary again.
Four years.
He had missed four years of this little boy's life.
Slowly, Beomgyu reached out, stopping just before his hand could touch Haru's hair.
"C-can I?" he whispered.
Taehyun stood behind him.
After a moment, he nodded.
Beomgyu gently brushed a few strands of hair away from Haru's forehead.
Haru shifted.
His little face scrunched up as he slowly woke.
He blinked several times.
Then his eyes landed on Beomgyu.
Haru immediately became still.
He didn't say anything.
He simply stared at the unfamiliar man sitting beside him.
Beomgyu froze too.
"Hi..." he whispered.
Haru's eyes moved from Beomgyu to Taehyun.
Then back to Beomgyu.
His small hands tightened around his bear.
"Appa..."
Taehyun immediately understood.
"I'm here," he said softly.
Haru climbed off the couch and hurried over to Taehyun, wrapping both arms around his leg.
Taehyun gently placed a hand on his head.
"It's okay, baby. He's not going to hurt you."
Haru peeked out from behind Taehyun's leg.
Beomgyu's heart squeezed.
He wanted to say something.
Anything.
But he didn't know what he was supposed to say to a three-year-old who had no idea who he was.
So he simply smiled softly.
"Hi, Haru."
Haru stared at him suspiciously.
Then he buried his face against Taehyun's leg again.
Beomgyu gave a tiny, bittersweet smile.
"That's okay," he whispered. "You don't have to come near me."
Taehyun looked down at Haru before glancing at Beomgyu.
"He's usually shy around people he doesn't know."
Beomgyu nodded.
"I understand."
He slowly stood up.
But before he could step away, Haru peeked at him again.
This time, his gaze lingered on Beomgyu's face.
Beomgyu noticed.
Their eyes met.
Haru quickly looked away.
It was such a small thing.
Yet Beomgyu felt like his heart had been pulled apart all over again.
He had finally met his son.
And his son didn't know him.
After that night, Beomgyu eventually left Taehyun's apartment.
But unlike four years ago, he didn't disappear.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
Over the next few weeks, Beomgyu slowly became a constant presence in Taehyun's life.
And Taehyun actually started working as his P.A.
Well... technically, Beomgyu had to hire two P.A.s.
The other assistant handled Beomgyu's actual schedule, meetings, documents, calls, and work-related responsibilities.
Taehyun's position was... different.
Beomgyu rarely gave him anything difficult.
Sometimes Taehyun organized a few papers.
Sometimes he brought Beomgyu coffee.
Sometimes he simply sat in the office while Beomgyu worked.
And sometimes, Beomgyu would suddenly look up from his laptop just to make sure Taehyun was still there.
Taehyun noticed.
He just never mentioned it.
Meanwhile, someone else was noticing too.
Jungwon.
At first, Jungwon didn't think much of Taehyun joining the company.
When he asked Beomgyu about it, Beomgyu simply said,
"He's fit for the job."
Jungwon raised an eyebrow.
"That's it?"
"That's it."
"But you already had an assistant."
"I needed another one."
Jungwon stared at him.
"You're being weird."
Beomgyu didn't even look up from his phone.
"I'm busy."
And that was usually how the conversation ended.
But Jungwon wasn't stupid.
He noticed things.
He noticed how Beomgyu's attention seemed to drift whenever Taehyun was nearby.
He noticed how Beomgyu would become unusually quiet around him.
And more importantly...
He noticed how Beomgyu had changed with him.
They used to spend time together.
Beomgyu would reach for his hand without thinking.
He would sit close to him.
He'd occasionally pull Jungwon into a hug or kiss him goodbye.
Now?
Almost nothing.
Sometimes Jungwon would reach for Beomgyu's hand, only for Beomgyu to absentmindedly pull away while checking his phone.
Sometimes Jungwon would lean closer, and Beomgyu would barely react.
Even their conversations had become shorter.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
One evening, Jungwon sat across from Beomgyu at a café.
He finally couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Beomgyu."
Beomgyu looked up.
"What?"
Jungwon stared at him for a moment.
"Are you still interested in me?"
Beomgyu's expression immediately stiffened.
"Why are you asking that?"
"Because I feel like I'm dating someone who's already somewhere else."
Beomgyu went silent.
Jungwon lowered his gaze.
"Is it because of him?"
Beomgyu knew exactly who he meant.
Taehyun.
His fingers tightened around his cup.
"Don't start."
Jungwon let out a quiet breath.
"I haven't even accused you of anything."
"Then don't."
"But you're avoiding the question."
Beomgyu looked away.
Jungwon watched him carefully.
And for the first time, a thought entered his mind that he hadn't wanted to consider.
Maybe Taehyun wasn't simply Beomgyu's new employee.
Maybe there was something much bigger between them.
Something Beomgyu wasn't telling him.
⋆。゚✶° ✧ °✶゚。⋆
The next morning, the office was unusually busy.
Taehyun walked through the hallway carrying a cup of coffee for Beomgyu.
He was looking down at his phone for just a second when-
Crash.
He collided with someone.
The coffee spilled across the front of Jungwon's clothes.
Taehyun's eyes widened.
"I-I'm sorry..."
"Are you stupid?!"
Jungwon's voice echoed through the office.
Several employees turned around.
Taehyun immediately flinched.
"I... I'm sorry," he repeated quietly.
"Sorry?" Jungwon scoffed. "For what? For stealing my boyfriend? Or for spilling coffee on me?!"
The entire office went silent.
Taehyun stared at him with wide eyes.
"N-no, I-"
"What the hell is wrong with you, Jungwon?!"
Beomgyu's voice cut through the room.
He had just entered the office.
Jungwon turned toward him.
"Gyu, I didn't mean that. I was just angry."
Beomgyu didn't answer.
He walked straight past Jungwon and stopped in front of Taehyun.
"Are you okay?"
Taehyun nodded slowly.
Beomgyu gently took his hand and noticed the coffee that had spilled onto his fingers.
"You got some on yourself."
He carefully wiped the coffee from Taehyun's hand with a tissue.
Taehyun looked down, slightly stunned.
Around them, employees began whispering.
Beomgyu heard them.
He simply ignored it.
Jungwon stood frozen nearby, watching the entire scene.
Beomgyu hadn't even looked at him.
Not once.
That hurt more than Jungwon wanted to admit.
⋆。゚✶° ✧ °✶゚。⋆
Later that night
A knock sounded at Jungwon's apartment door.
Jungwon looked up from the couch.
He already knew who it was.
He opened the door.
Beomgyu stood outside.
For several seconds, neither spoke.
Then Jungwon stepped aside.
"Come in."
Beomgyu entered.
Jungwon closed the door behind him.
"You're here because of this morning?"
Beomgyu turned around.
"Yes."
Jungwon crossed his arms.
"I already apologized."
"Not to Taehyun."
Jungwon's expression hardened.
"You're defending him again."
"He didn't do anything wrong."
"He spilled coffee on me."
"And you humiliated him in front of the entire office."
Jungwon looked away.
"I was angry."
"You were jealous."
Jungwon went quiet.
Beomgyu sighed.
"I understand that you're suspicious. I understand why you're upset. But don't take it out on him."
Jungwon finally looked at him.
"Then tell me the truth."
Beomgyu froze.
"What's really going on between you and Taehyun?"
The room fell silent.
Beomgyu looked down.
He knew he couldn't keep avoiding the question forever.
Beomgyu took a deep breath.
For a moment, he couldn't bring himself to look at Jungwon.
Then he finally spoke.
"Let's break up."
Jungwon's expression fell.
He bit his lip, desperately trying to keep his tears from spilling.
"Why?"
Beomgyu stayed silent.
Jungwon's voice trembled.
"You chose that waiter over me?"
Beomgyu immediately shook his head.
"No."
"Then why?"
Beomgyu looked at him.
"He is..."
He paused, searching for the right words.
"He's my child's mother."
Jungwon's eyes widened.
Beomgyu continued quietly.
"He carried my child. He raised him for four years without me. He sacrificed his own life to take care of him."
Jungwon's eyes filled with tears.
"You have a child?"
Beomgyu nodded.
"Yes."
"And Taehyun is...?"
"The other parent."
Jungwon looked down, trying to process everything.
"So that's why."
Beomgyu swallowed.
"I didn't know about Haru until recently. But now that I know, I can't pretend nothing happened."
Jungwon wiped his cheek quickly.
"You could still be with me."
"I know."
"Then why aren't you?"
Beomgyu's eyes lowered.
"Because I don't think my heart is here anymore."
Jungwon closed his eyes.
That sentence hurt more than anything else.
After a long silence, he whispered,
"Do you love him?"
Beomgyu didn't answer immediately.
He thought about Taehyun.
About Haru.
About the years he'd missed.
Then he quietly said,
"I don't know."
He looked at Jungwon.
"But I know I want to be there for them now."
Jungwon nodded slowly, tears finally slipping down his face.
"I understand."
Beomgyu stood there helplessly.
He wanted to say something that would make this easier.
But there wasn't anything.
So he simply whispered,
"I'm sorry."
Jungwon gave him a sad smile.
"Me too."
And just like that, the relationship they'd built came to an end.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
Within a few days, everyone in the company knew that Beomgyu and Jungwon had broken up.
And, inevitably, the whispers started.
Some employees looked at Taehyun with disdain whenever he walked past. Others whispered behind his back, blaming him for the breakup.
Taehyun didn't care.
Why should he?
It wasn't like he'd forced Beomgyu to end his relationship.
He hadn't asked Beomgyu to choose him.
He simply continued living his life.
---
One evening, Beomgyu visited Taehyun's apartment.
Haru had gotten much closer to him over the past few weeks.
He no longer hid behind Taehyun whenever Beomgyu came over.
Instead, he would run toward him with a huge smile.
"Gyu!"
Beomgyu's heart melted every single time.
That evening, the two were playing together in the living room while Taehyun sat nearby, working on his laptop.
Haru laughed as Beomgyu pretended to lose a game.
"You win!"
"I win!"
"Again!"
Beomgyu laughed.
"Again?"
Haru nodded enthusiastically.
After some time, Taehyun closed his laptop.
"Okay, that's enough. It's time to eat."
Haru immediately ran over.
Taehyun fed him while Beomgyu watched quietly.
Not long afterward, Haru's eyes began to droop.
Eventually, he fell asleep in Taehyun's arms.
Taehyun carefully adjusted him, making sure he was comfortable.
The apartment became quiet.
Beomgyu looked at Taehyun for a moment before finally speaking.
"I broke up with Jungwon."
Taehyun didn't even look up.
"I know."
Beomgyu blinked.
"That's it?"
Taehyun finally looked at him.
"What?"
"That's all you're going to say?"
Taehyun frowned slightly.
"Then what do you expect me to say?"
Beomgyu opened his mouth but couldn't immediately find an answer.
Taehyun gently patted Haru's back.
"You made your decision, Beomgyu."
He paused.
"I didn't ask you to make it."
Beomgyu lowered his gaze.
"I know."
"Then why are you telling me?"
Beomgyu looked at him.
"Because... you're the first person I wanted to tell."
Taehyun went quiet.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Haru slept peacefully between them, completely unaware of the complicated feelings filling the room.
Beomgyu slowly stood up.
Taehyun looked at him, confused.
Then Beomgyu said the words that made Taehyun completely freeze.
"Let's get married."
Taehyun stared at him.
For several seconds, he said nothing.
Then he slowly shook his head.
"No."
Beomgyu's eyes widened.
"Why?"
Taehyun took a deep breath, careful not to wake Haru in his arms.
"Because you want to be here for Haru..."
He paused.
"Maybe not for me."
Beomgyu's expression fell.
Taehyun looked down at the sleeping child.
"And I don't want something like marriage just because of Haru."
His voice remained calm, but there was a quiet sadness underneath it.
"I'm capable of raising him alone. I've been doing it for years."
That stung.
Beomgyu's pride flared for a moment.
His alpha instincts wanted to argue-to tell Taehyun that he could provide, protect, and take responsibility.
But he swallowed it down.
This wasn't about his pride.
It was about Taehyun.
Beomgyu sat back down.
"Then..." he said quietly, "what do you want me to do for you?"
Taehyun looked at him.
"Nothing."
Beomgyu frowned.
"Nothing?"
Taehyun nodded.
"Just..."
His gaze softened.
"Show me that I matter too."
Beomgyu went completely still.
Taehyun continued quietly.
"Just like Haru matters."
The words hit Beomgyu harder than he expected.
Taehyun wasn't asking for money.
He wasn't asking for a relationship.
He wasn't even asking Beomgyu to marry him.
He was simply asking to be seen.
To be valued as more than the person who had given birth to his child.
Beomgyu looked at him for a long moment.
Then he nodded.
"I will."
Taehyun didn't respond.
But this time, he didn't look away either.
After a long silence, Beomgyu spoke again.
"Then... can we date?"
Taehyun looked at him.
"I mean... you know."
Beomgyu gave him an uncertain smile.
Taehyun thought about it for a while before finally nodding.
"Fine."
Haru shifted in Taehyun's arms, settling more comfortably against his appa's chest.
Beomgyu smiled and gently patted his back.
"Then we'll take it slow."
And he meant it.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
Over the next few weeks, Beomgyu made an effort to show Taehyun that he mattered.
They went out for dinner.
They watched movies together.
Sometimes they simply walked around the city with no particular destination.
There were no grand gestures.
Just small things.
Beomgyu remembered Taehyun's favorite food.
He made sure Taehyun got home safely after work.
He listened when Taehyun talked about Haru.
And whenever someone at the office called Taehyun a homewrecker or blamed him for the breakup, Beomgyu immediately shut it down.
"What happened between Jungwon and me has nothing to do with Taehyun," he told them firmly. "Don't involve him in our personal relationship."
Slowly, Taehyun began to believe him.
Sometimes Beomgyu stayed over at Taehyun's apartment.
At night, he would sit beside Haru's bed and read him stories until the little boy fell asleep.
In the mornings, Beomgyu would make breakfast while Taehyun got ready for work.
It became strangely domestic.
And Taehyun noticed every little thing.
🫧 ── ୨୧ ── 🎀 ── ♡ ── 🌸 ── 🫧
Then one afternoon at the office, something .
Then one day, in the office.
Taehyun stopped in the middle of the hallway.
His body felt unusually warm.
Too warm.
Heat bloomed under his skin like a slow fire.
His shirt clung to his back.
A faint tremor ran through his fingers.
He pressed a hand to his forehead.
Damp.
The first wave of his heat.
His scent began to slip its careful control.
Sweet. Heavy. Unmistakable.
He took another step-
and crossed paths with Beomgyu.
Beomgyu froze.
His pupils blew wide the second Taehyun's scent hit him.
Thick. Desperate. Omega in heat.
He didn't ask questions.
Didn't wait.
In one smooth motion he closed the distance,
scooped Taehyun up into his arms,
and carried him straight out of the building.
Taehyun's head lolled against his shoulder.
Face flushed. Breathing shallow.
By the time they reached the apartment,
Taehyun was trembling.
Beomgyu kicked the door shut behind them.
Carried him to the bedroom.
Laid him down carefully on the bed.
Taehyun's fingers weakly caught his sleeve.
Voice barely a whisper.
"D... don't."
Beomgyu stopped immediately.
Looked down at him.
"Don't worry," he said quietly.
"I will just help you.
No touching without your permission.
I won't do anything.
Just let my pheromones help you."
Taehyun's eyes were glassy with heat.
He searched Beomgyu's face for a long second.
Then nodded once.
Beomgyu exhaled.
He sat on the edge of the bed.
Close, but not touching.
And slowly released his scent.
Calm. Steady. Alpha.
A low, grounding wave of pheromones that wrapped around the room.
Taehyun's body reacted almost instantly.
A shaky breath left him.
Some of the worst edge of the heat softened.
Beomgyu stayed like that.
When Taehyun's temperature spiked,
Beomgyu wet a cloth with cool water and laid it on his forehead.
Changed it whenever it grew warm.
When Taehyun curled up in pain,
Beomgyu only sat closer and let more of his scent fill the air.
Never touching unless Taehyun reached for him first.
When Taehyun got restless and tried to get up,
Beomgyu gently guided him back down with words alone.
"Easy. I'm right here. You're safe."
Haru padded into the room at some point.
Small. Quiet.
Beomgyu picked the child up and settled him on the far side of the bed so he wouldn't be scared.
"Appa's okay," Beomgyu murmured to Haru.
"He's just not feeling well.
We're going to take care of him."
Throughout the heat, Beomgyu barely slept.
He kept the room cool.
Kept water within reach.
Kept his pheromones steady and calm so Taehyun wouldn't drown in the worst of the fever.
When Taehyun cried from the ache,
Beomgyu only spoke soft and low.
When Taehyun's scent turned sharp with distress,
Beomgyu answered with his own until it smoothed again.
He changed sweat-soaked sheets.
Wiped Taehyun's face.
Fed him small sips of water when he could take them.
Held Haru when the child got worried.
And every time Taehyun's glassy eyes found him, Beomgyu was still there.
No demands.
No touching without permission.
Just presence.
Just care.
Until the heat finally began to ease.

A few days after Taehyun's heat had passed, his phone buzzed.
It was a message from Beomgyu.
Beomgyu: Hey, if you're ready... can we meet my parents?
Taehyun stared at the message for a while.
Ten minutes later, he finally replied.
Taehyun: Okay.
The reply came almost immediately.
Beomgyu: I'll pick you up tonight.
Taehyun sent back a simple:
Taehyun: 👍

Later that evening, Taehyun dressed in something comfortable and simple. He helped Haru into a cute pair of shorts and a T-shirt.
By seven, they were ready.
A car soon stopped outside.
When Beomgyu stepped out and saw Taehyun standing there with Haru, his expression immediately softened.
"Wow," he murmured.
Taehyun raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Nothing."
Beomgyu smiled.
"You both look great."
Haru immediately reached toward him.
"Gyu!"
Beomgyu laughed and crouched down.
"Ready to meet Grandma and Grandpa?"
Haru nodded enthusiastically.
---
They eventually arrived at a restaurant where Beomgyu's parents were waiting.
Beomgyu took a deep breath before walking inside with them.
"Mom, Dad..."
His parents turned around.
"This is Taehyun."
Taehyun bowed politely.
"Hello. It's nice to meet you."
Beomgyu's mother immediately smiled warmly.
"Oh, don't be nervous. We've been wanting to meet you."
His father nodded.
"It's good to finally meet you."
Taehyun smiled shyly.
"Thank you for having me."
Then Beomgyu gestured toward the little boy standing beside Taehyun.
"And this is Haru."
His mother's eyes immediately lit up.
"Oh my goodness!"
She crouched down.
"Look at those cheeks!"
Haru shyly moved closer to Taehyun.
Beomgyu's mother laughed softly.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. Grandma won't scare you."
Haru peeked at her.
After a moment, he slowly stepped forward.
She gave him a gentle hug, and Haru soon relaxed.
Beomgyu's father smiled.
"So this is our grandson."
Haru looked up at him.
"Grandpa?"
His father practically melted.
"Yes! Grandpa!"
Everyone laughed.
---
During dinner, Beomgyu's parents asked Taehyun about himself.
"So, Taehyun," his mother said kindly, "what do you do?"
"I work as Beomgyu's P.A."
His father smiled.
"Then you must have a lot of patience."
Taehyun glanced at Beomgyu.
"You have no idea."
Beomgyu gasped.
"Hey!"
Everyone laughed.
Beomgyu's mother looked between them with a fond smile.
"You two seem comfortable together."
Taehyun became slightly shy.
His mother noticed but didn't press him.
Instead, she reached across the table and gently squeezed Taehyun's hand.
"We're happy you're here."
Taehyun's expression softened.
"Thank you."
Later, when the conversation turned toward marriage, Taehyun suddenly became stiff.
Before anyone could say more, Beomgyu quickly interrupted.
"When we're both ready, we'll tell you."
His parents exchanged a knowing smile.
"Of course," his mother said.
"We'll wait."
---
That night, Beomgyu dropped Taehyun and Haru back at the apartment.
As Taehyun opened the door, he glanced back.
"Do you want to come in?"
Beomgyu smiled.
"Sure."
Later, after Haru had fallen asleep, they sat together on the couch.
The apartment was peaceful.
Taehyun was quiet for a while.
Then Taehyun suddenly spoke.
His voice was still a little hoarse from the heat.
"I... think I am ready for marriage."
Beomgyu froze for a second.
He didn't say anything.
Just stared at Taehyun like he wasn't sure he had heard right.
Then he spoke, quieter than usual.
"Are you sure?"
Taehyun nodded.
Something in Beomgyu's expression broke open.
He pulled Taehyun into a tight hug without warning.
Arms wrapping around him fully.
Holding on like he was afraid he might disappear.
"I love you, Taehyun. So much."
He kissed his cheek in excitement- quick, warm, almost clumsy.
Then he froze.
Pulled back just a little.
Ears turning red.
"I... am sorry."
Taehyun smiled.
Soft. Tired. Genuine.
"I like it."
Beomgyu's eyes flickered.
He pulled Taehyun closer again.
This time is slower.
And kissed him on the lips.
Gentle at first. Then a little deeper when Taehyun didn't pull away.
When he drew back, his voice was quiet.
"Do you also like it?"
Taehyun nodded.
Beomgyu's face lit up.
He leaned in and started kissing him all over his face-
cheek, forehead, the tip of his nose, the corner of his mouth, the other cheek.
Taehyun laughed. A real, bright sound.
He tried to turn his head away, but Beomgyu only followed.
"Gyu-stop-ah-"
Beomgyu kept going, laughing against his skin.
"No. You said you like it."
Taehyun's laughter mixed with his.
He pushed lightly at Beomgyu's chest, but his arms stayed around him.
They stayed tangled together on the bed.
Talking in low voices.
About nothing.
About everything.
About how long Beomgyu had waited.
About how Taehyun had been scared.
About Haru.
About the future.
Beomgyu kept stealing little kisses between sentences.
Taehyun kept letting him.
Outside the window, the sky slowly lightened.
They were still talking when morning came.

The Wedding day had finally arrived.
Taehyun stood in front of the mirror, dressed in a pristine white tuxedo. His hair was neatly styled, and the simple elegance of his outfit made him look almost unreal.
Like a prince who had somehow stepped straight out of a storybook.
Beside him stood Haru in his tiny matching suit, looking impossibly adorable.
"Ready?" Taehyun asked softly.
Haru nodded.
"Ready!"
Taehyun smiled and took his little hand.
Meanwhile, Beomgyu stood at the altar, trying his best to remain calm.
Then the doors opened.
Everyone turned.
The room fell silent.
Several guests stared in awe at Taehyun as he walked inside.
But Beomgyu didn't hear any of it.
He had completely frozen.
His eyes stayed fixed on Taehyun.
Beautiful.
That was the only word he could think of.
Taehyun walked slowly down the aisle, holding Haru's hand.
Halfway there, Beomgyu couldn't wait any longer.
He stepped forward and gently took Taehyun's free hand.
Taehyun smiled at him.
Together, they walked the rest of the way to the altar.
Haru stood proudly beside them.
The ceremony began.
When it was Beomgyu's turn, he looked directly at Taehyun.
"I do."
He took a breath, his voice becoming softer.
"But not because you're the mother of my child."
Taehyun's eyes immediately began to glisten.
"I do because you're Taehyun. Because I love you for who you are."
Beomgyu smiled.
"I love you because you gave me a second chance when you had every reason not to. I love you because, despite everything that happened between us, you still allowed me into your life."
His voice trembled slightly.
"You saw my flaws and still chose to see the good in me."
He glanced briefly at Haru.
"And thank you... for giving me the most precious gift I could ever receive."
Then he looked back at Taehyun.
"But more than anything, thank you for being you. I don't want to spend my life simply being Haru's father beside you."
He squeezed Taehyun's hand.
"I want to be your husband. Your partner. The person standing beside you through everything that comes next."
Taehyun's tears finally slipped down his cheeks.
Beomgyu smiled at him.
"I love you, Taehyun."
Taehyun took a shaky breath.
"I do."
They exchanged rings, their hands trembling slightly with emotion.
The priest smiled.
"Then, you may kiss your omega."
Beomgyu stepped closer.
He gently cupped Taehyun's face and first pressed a soft kiss to his forehead.
Then he leaned in and shared a brief kiss with him.
When they pulled apart, Taehyun's face was bright red.
Beomgyu couldn't help but smile.
Then-
"Appa!"
Both of them turned.
Haru stood there with his arms raised.
"Up!"
Taehyun and Beomgyu both chuckled.
"Come here, little troublemaker."
Taehyun picked Haru up.
Beomgyu leaned over and gave Haru an affectionate kiss on the cheek.
Haru giggled.
And at that exact moment-
Click.
The camera captured them.
Taehyun holding Haru.
Beomgyu standing beside them.
Three people who had once been strangers...
Now a family.
And that photograph became the beginning of their forever.
The End.
