Summary
Fish had been slowly disappearing from the surrounding area of Erid Island for quite some time now. It has come to a point where food rations were taking too great of a hit. Ryland decides if nobody was going to do something, then he'll investigate. He was a molecular biologist, maybe he could determine if there was some type of virus infecting the surrounding fish population.
What he wasn't expecting was a predator lurking deep in the rocky waters around their small land. Something that made no sense at all. Ryland should have been terrified. He was terrified, but he couldn't deny his scientific curiosity to study this creature closely.
Simon just wanted to live. After escaping his death pod, he swam as far as he could. Somewhere safe, somewhere where nobody could find him again. He stumbled upon an innocuous island. It was isolated from the world, rarely any sea traffic. There was even a small alcove deep on the very edge where Simon could hide in. It was perfect.
Well it was, until a nosey human butt his head in. Simon should eat him. It was a danger, to be seen. The voice in his head screamed at him to dig his teeth in, to just end it. But no, he didn't want to hurt anybody anymore.
