The blond awoke to a bright room, sunshine streaming through blinds half-askew, his face shielded from the sun by a long-fingered hand and the weight of the gaze of warm grey-blue eyes on the nape of his neck.
Kalceran chuckled softly, rolling over to face his fiancé who dropped his hand and grinned when their eyes met. "Good morning, Love.". Leo's grin widened, dimples blooming in freckled cheeks as he leaned in and rested his forehead against Kal's. "Morning, Kal.".
Kal bumped his nose to the brunet's, heart-shaped lips curved in a bright smile as he fitted a hand behind Leocoril's neck, stroking at the nape and the soft wispy curls there. "Did you sleep alright?". Leo tilted his head back into the warm touch, eyes fluttering contentedly at the affection. "Yeah, I did. Did you?".
"Mhm, I slept very well." Kal agreed, absently twirling soft curls around his finger. The two were quiet for a moment, simply relishing in the other's existence.
Grey-blue eyes blinked slowly, a sweet smile quirking the ends of peach-pink lips. "You're pretty.". Kal blinked twice in mild surprise, strawberry-pink rising on his cheeks as his ears flicked happily, bluebell eyes crinkling at the corners when he smiled. "You're sweet.".
The blond nuzzled his nose to his fiancé's, saying with a light chuckle, "You're very pretty too, Cori.". Leo's smile widened, cheeks flushing as he nuzzled back, twisting his fingers into the curled ends of cornsilk hair. "Thanks.".
"Just the truth." Kalceran replied, causing Leo's blush to deepen a few shades and spread to his ears which perked up.
Kal was quiet for a moment before letting out a little sigh and brushing his thumb along the brunet's cheek. "We should probably get up now.". Leo made a huffy sound and buried his face in his fiancé's neck, letting out a muffled tickly, "Do we have to?".
Kal laughed, a light bubbling sound that was music to Leo's ears and had opened his mouth to say that they could lay in for a couple minutes more when a church bell chimed in the distance.
One
Two
Three
Four
Five
Six
Seven chimes. Seven in the morning.
Yeah, they definitely had to get up.
"Sorry, Treasure." Kal said, pushing himself upright and stretching, continuing after a yawn, "Wedding plans wait for no one.". Leo sighed and sat up as well, pushing his hair out of his eyes; don't get him wrong, he was over the moon to be marrying Kal, but if he had to look at flower arrangements one more time, his head was going to explode.
Instead of responding to his fiancé's apology, Leo hugged Kal from behind when they were both on their feet and asked into soft lavender-scented hair, "Can you braid my hair for me today?". He could do it himself, but it always came out nicer when Kal did it, plus it just felt good.
"Of course." Kal agreed easily, leaning back to peck the brunet's cheek. "Thanks," Leo said before lifting the blond up slightly, raising Kal to his tiptoes before asking, "Can I?". "Mhm, go ahead." Kal answered, knowing what he was asking and fighting back premature giggles.
Having been given permission, Leo lifted Kal off his feet properly and spun the two of them around until they were both laughing hard enough their sides hurt.
"You're stalling." Kal said through hiccups when Leo set him down, breathless from laughter and swaying slightly on his feet as the room tilted from side to side. "I am." Leo agreed, rather dizzy himself though he allowed Kal to lean on him on their way to the washroom nonetheless, stopping his fiancé from tripping or stumbling over his own feet. "Color swatches make my head hurt.".
Kalceran let out an airy laugh around his toothbrush, bluebell eyes curving up into pleased crescents. "How about this? You pick out the colors for our clothes, and I'll figure out the color scheme. Would that be more bearable?". Leo nodded as he toweled off his face. "So much more. Thank you.".
"Of course, Treasure," Kal said pleasantly. "I don't mind choosing the colors anyway.".

"I can brush your hair." the brunet offered when they returned to their room and Kal took a seat at the vanity, Leo's shirt on but unbuttoned. "Oh, thank you, Treasure. That'd be nice." Kal said, passing Leo the brush when he finished buttoning his shirt.
"Why do you call me that anyway?" Leo asked, smoothing the brush through virtually untangled hair. Kal made eye contact in the mirror and tilted his head slightly. "Do you want me to stop?". Leo shook his head. "No, I like it. I'm just curious.".
"Because it fits you." Kal answered with a light shrug, taking back the brush when Leo handed it to him.
Leocoril's ears flicked happily, he wasn't the one whose eyes and hair looked like literal valuables, but it was nice to hear, nonetheless.
"Want me to do your hair too?" Leo asked, combing his fingers through the gold strands and admiring the way they shone in the light. "If you want to." Kal replied, leaning back into the touch with a soft hum when Leo massaged his fingers against his scalp. "You can do it however you'd like.".
At that Leo paused, suddenly unable to remember how to braid, the brunet going still for a moment except for his fingers, which idly fidgeted with the ends of his fiancé's hair.
"Leo?" Kal asked into the quiet, tilting his head back to look up at his fiancé with curious blue eyes. "Is something wrong?". "Hm?" Leo shook his head and leaned down to kiss the blond's forehead. "I'm fine, just got lost in thought.". Kal studied the brunet's face until Leo tilted his head at him much like Toby did when someone was eating around him and grinned.
"What were you thinking about?" Kal asked as Leo set on braiding his hair, weaving the locks into a long gold plait. "I forgot how to braid for a second." Leo said with a light laugh, setting on braiding. Deft fingers wove the blond's hair into a long gold plait as Kal fastened his earrings and smoothed tinted balm to his already blush-pink lips, turning the cupid's bow raspberry pink.
"Your hair is so soft." the brunet commented after a short while, tying off the braid with a cornflower-blue bow. "Oh, thank you, Leo." Kal replied, both to the compliment and the braid, which Leo draped over his shoulder. "The braid looks nice; you're getting so much better.".
Leo's cheeks warmed with embarrassment, his grin turning sheepish; the first braid he had done for Kal, and multiple afterwards, had ended in horrendous tangles that took him forever to get out. "Thanks.".
Kal smiled, leaning back to cup his fiancé's face in both his hands and touch their noses together with a soft chuckle. "Of course, Love. I'll do your hair after I get dressed, alright?". "Sounds good to me." Leo agreed, happily accepting the grateful kisses Kalceran pressed down his nose to his lips with flushed cheeks and perked up ears.
"You're so pretty." Leo said a moment later, sitting on the bed with Toby on his shoulder as he buttoned up a vest the color of cornflowers and watch his fiancé put on a shirt, his storm-blue eyes warm to the point of melting. "Haven't you said that already?" Kal quipped, cheeks flushed pink at the compliment, nonetheless.
"Oh, and could you help me with this, please?" the blond added, indicating his corset which was on but not tightened. "Mhm," Leo said, standing up, Toby scurrying into the pouch at his thigh. The brunet leaned in and pressed a kiss to the side of Kal's head, saying into silk-soft hair, "And I said it because it's true.".
Kal hummed and smiled at his fiancé over his shoulder, Leo's eyes were fully focused on the cord he was tying and untying, trying to make a non-lopsided bow. "Aren't you sweet.". "How did you do this without any help?" Leo asked after his third time tying and untying the string, brow furrowed and lips pouted out.
Kal reached back and pressed a finger to the wrinkled space between the brunet's eyebrows, making Leo blink with pleasant surprise, brow unfurrowing before the prince replied honestly, "Usually I have help, but it's not all that hard after you've been doing it for a couple years. You're doing better than I did at first.".
Leo gave up after his fifth retie, a headache beginning to form, looping his arms around Kal's waist instead and hugging his fiancé against him, cheek pressed to the curve of Kal's neck. "Are corsets even comfortable?". "Depends," Kal said, twining his fingers with Leo's and raising the brunet's knuckles to his lips. "I like mine but they're not for everyone and they can be uncomfortable if they're tied too tight.".
"This isn't too tight?" Leo asked, just to check. Kal leaned back against his fiancé's chest and shook his head, a small smile crinkling his bluebell eyes. "Not in the slightest. Thank you for the help, Treasure.". Leo grinned and nuzzled his cheek to his fiancé's. "Of course, I like helping you.".
"You're so sweet." Kal turned and pressed a kiss to Leocoril's cheek, smiling against soft freckled skin. "Do you want to sit on the bed or in a chair while I do your hair?".
Leo thought about that for a moment, cuddling his face into Kal's neck as he considered. "Chair please.".
Had they not been on a schedule, he would've chosen the bed, it was more comfortable for them to be at the same level -or at least it was for him, he didn't like when people stood behind him just out of sight- and nine times out of ten he could weasel more cuddles out of his fiancé.
"Alright then." Kal agreed, turning around fully to give his fiancé a proper kiss, hand cupping the brunet's cheek and leaving Leo's head feeling pleasantly fuzzy when they parted.
The blond rubbed at Leo's shoulders when he sat down at the vanity, the brunet tensing for a moment at the touch before melting into the gentle impromptu massage. "You're so tense." Kal said with a soft hum, moving from massaging to combing his fingers through Leo's curls, gently detangling any knots of which there were blissfully few. "I can give you a proper massage later if you'd like?".
"That'd be nice." Leo agreed, wincing at a particularly stuck knot. "Remind me later." Kalceran said, stroking long fingers through his fiancé's chocolate hair before beginning braiding, hands slow. Leo made a small noncommittal sound; he would decide later if Kal forgot whether or not he wanted to be greedy -he was leaning more towards the side of 'yes' simply because his neck did feel cramped up and it was beginning to get on his nerves.
"You have such nice hair." Kal said after a moment of comfortable silence, swaying slightly as he braided. "It's gotten so healthy.". Leo's ears perked up, Kal said that nearly every time he did the brunet's hair -except for the 'healthy' bit, he hadn't said that before- but it was still nice to hear.
"And long hair suits you." Kal added, finishing off the braid and looping his arms over his fiancé's shoulder, smiling at him in the mirror.
"It is getting pretty long, huh?" Leo said, pulling the braid around to look at it -Kal did a great job with the braiding, as always- and studying how long it fell, just about reaching the end of his sternum. "Mhm. Do you want to trim it or anything?" Kal asked, leaning his head against Leo's with a soft sigh.
Leo fidgeted with the end of his braid for a moment before looking up at his fiancé with a wide grin, dimples hollowing in his cheeks. "No, I don't think so.". Kal's ears flicked, the blond leaning down for a kiss that Leo happily tilted his head up to reciprocate only for a bell to chime in the distance once again the moment their lips touched.
"There's no way it's been an hour." Kal said, brushing a hasty kiss to the corner of Leo's cupid's bow before straightening up, a small smile quirking his lips at the absurdity. "There's no way.". "Maybe it's something else." Leo suggested though a bit weakly even to himself as he followed Kal in putting on his boots.
"Maybe." Kal agreed before sighing and letting out a defeated, "It's almost definitely not.". "Oh, definitely." Leo said, wiping the lip tint from Kal's kisses off his face and smoothing his bangs.
"We need to stop being so late to planning." Kal said, taking Leo's hand and allowing him to open the door. "I'm not complaining." Leo said, tapping his head against his fiancé's as they headed down the hall. "I like talking to you.".
The blond flushed a pleasant shade of strawberry-pink and waved off the compliment. "Shh,".
The two walked in companionable silence for a short while before Leocoril broke it with a soft, "Hey, Kal, I love you.". Kal chuckled softly and got on his tiptoes to peck his fiancé's cheek. "I love you too, Leo.".
