Work Text:

It was slightly shocking an insulting to be told Doflamingo wasn't picking him up for the most recent quarterly meeting of Warlord's. A fucking show for the public. Nothing important ever happened at those. Having Doflamingo all to himself was the only reason he was going.

"His brother is here to pick you up, Sir," Miss All Sunday let him know.

Rosinante was replacing his brother? Interesting.

"I made everything ready for the trip, might as well go," he shrugged and told her to invite the man for dinner. He's too curious about the man to just send him away empty-handed.

It's Doffy's precious little brother. Only thing that could truly keep whatever was hiding under his pressed suits controlled. Just one works from his precious Rosi could calm him down.

While Doflamingo was put together and loud. Rosinante was messy and quiet. Blending into the shadows with his dark plumage. Making no sound. His sunglasses pushed up into golden mess of his hair.

"Not hungry," he declared and sat down.

"It's not poisoned," so they were similarities beyond feathers. They're both paranoid. But what did he expect from someone whose reason for promotion was a secret. "What's Doflamingo up to?" He was guess he'd mind shortening of his brother's name as Doffy minds his being shortened.

"Resting. Calm belt sucks." Short and to the point. Fun….

Rosinante doesn't eat. Offers half-sentences as answers to any questions he's asked. Doflamingo would regal him with smiles and complaints about other Marines. Especially higher ups. But not Rosinante. He's a qiet creature.

"Shall we go?" Rosinante asked getting up once dessert was being cleaned up.

"Yes, yes, let's go," Crocodile shook his head. Someone was already waiting with his luggage by the casino door.

Just like Doffy, Rosinante had to slouch in the staff corridors. And they weren't made for short people. The two are just so freakishly tall. Why? Most Celestial Dragons, Crocodile ever saw weren't that tall. Did they just stay in Mariejois? Or was their other half the cause?

Not that Rosinante would tell him. He didn't want to talk to anyone but his and his brother's crew. With them, a man called Diamante, he talked normally. Even laughed at some inside joke Crocodile missed.

Aboard Numancia, Pica was the one to greet them. "Doffy is asleep," he let Rosinante know. So the crew could shorten it not be mauled. Something about best letting him rest hung in the air as Crocodile was shown to his usual room.

He didn't even bother asking for company. Doflamingo would find him once he's recovered from whatever ailment Calm Belt caused him. To his surprise, shortly after they started moving Rosinante came in. Book in hand.

"Doffy usually keeps you company, no?" He smirked as he laid out on a couch and started reading. Was he planning to stay until his brother can take over? Mocking Crocodile? Testing if he's good enough for his brother?

"Doflamingo said you select the books I'm offered to read," might as well try talking to the man.

"He wanted to be sure they'd be something you'd enjoy," he shrugged, glancing over the edge of his book. A leather bound tome with golden lettering Sailing Hearts: Winds Of Desire. How… surprising. It was possibly the longest sentence he said today to Crocodile.

"That's nice of him. You picked well, I had to go through a lot of pain to source copies of some of your picks," it pained him to admit Rosinante had books he did not.

"Which one couldn't you find?" Was it so obvious?

"'Planets and Ancients'" he sighed looking along the selection picked for this trip.

"A rare one, shockingly not banned," Rosinante hummed over his trash romance novel. How can someone assumedly well read stand that trash? Well, it's not really his place to judge.

"Shockingly indeed," he admitted as the door opened and stumbked Doflamingo. His coat not quite hiding his wings as he grinned seeing them both.

"I was so worried over nothing," he giggled, taking a step in. As soon as he swayed Crocodile was by his since supporting him. Rosinante was just halfway off the couch. His trash novel on the coffee table.

"You should still be resting," Rosinante scolded as Crocodile carried the older sibling to the bed.

"I was worried you two were arguing over classics," Doffy hummed as his brother removed his coat. Signing as he was laid on the bed.

"Just rest, we'll be quiet," Crocodile sighed covering him with a blanket. As he turned around Rosinante hund both Doflamingo's and his own coats by the door.

He raised an eyebrow as their eyes met. Crocodile just shook his head. Was this a sign he approves of whatever's between him and Doffy?

"Why are you reading this trash?" He asked quietly.

"Relax, I put silence bubble around Doffy. Sex scenes are pretty good," he shrugged, his wings were stretched across the whole couch

"Convinent power for a spy," Crocodile chuckled, ready to return to 'World's Constellation'. "Easy tomguess based on 'exceptional service'" he shrugged.

Rosinante chuckled in a very reminiscent of his brother way. "You can chek it out of you're interested," he put Sailing Hearts volume on the table and got up to pull another volume from inside his coat.

Just how much room was there in these things? And just what was in these endless pockets? At least Doflamingo's coat weighed more than it should based just in appearance. And Rosinante seems like a bigger hoarder of the two.

He of course ignored the trash novels in favour of actually interesting books. At least until Doflamingo woke up an decided he had no use for chairs or at least that Crocodile's lap is better than chairs.

With him awake, Rosinante got up and stretched. "Okay, I'll go and keep an eye on things since Doffy can keep you company now," he grinnwdz snapped his fingers and left, barely putting his coat on.

So they trusted their crew that much…. He was quite interested in the crew now. How can they trust so many people with their half-lunarian heritage?

And he left the stack of three volumes of Sailing Hearts….

"Rosi likes you," Doffy chuckled spotting the stack. "That's his favourite trashy romance series." Was that supposed to be an explanation?

At least he had better understanding of them. Doflamingo is the bright light tah grabs all the attention and does the talking. And Rosinante is his quiet shadow. Unseen untill he strikes. And unknown to everyone they're both lethally dangerous.

"What had you so out of it?" He asked, cradling Doflamingo in his arms. He was maintaining good relationship with the both of them. Who knows when they'll snap.

"Sea King's fucking hate us. While most still stay away, just circle us, some braver ones need to be chased away and as our resident Conquerors Haki user it's on me," Doflamingo pouted, melting into Crocodile.

Conquerors…. Did Rosi…. No Doflamingo wouldn't be doing it all himself if he could. Rosinante would not let him.

Notes:

Rosi: Want to read a trashy novel?
Crocodile: No, thank you.
Rosi: I'll just leave this here anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
