“Good, Roe.” Winters turned to his right, his eyes landing squarely on Babe, who had been standing a few paces off the dirt path, taking in the whole scene.
The moment Winters’ gaze hit him, Babe snapped straight, swallowing hard against the sudden dryness in his throat.
“Heffron,” Winters said, keeping his tone even. “You’ll show the new medic around camp. Get him settled, run him through the routine, and make sure he knows how we operate.”
