Work Text:
“Stormy mind seas”
Sometimes I find myself stepping in too deep,
The ground suddenly slipping from under my feet,
My head, swallowed by wave that managed to creep;
My lungs, gasping for air, preparing for repeat.
The sea of old systems and lingering fears,
Bringing up pressure and worries
That flooded my mind for so long, for years,
By spinning up layers of doubt and stories.
I do not drown however, that's in the past,
I fight as I swim to the shore,
Because your presence is like a mast
To my boat, steers me forward like nothing before.
And even as silence pokes at the old wounds,
Like storm rocks my boat, relentless,
I reach out for shared, comforting tunes,
With heart full of love, vibrant and endless.
