My name is Kankri Vantas.
Right now, I’m at a party my roommate Cronus made me go to, because apparently I need to ‘get out more.’
A few minutes ago, he left me alone here to go flirt with some girl or something. It’s really loud here and it can be triggering for neurodivergent individuals such as myself, but I’m sure I can just wait until he comes back and says we can go home.
I spot a girl sitting on a counter smoking cigarettes. Not only is she smoking, which is horrible for your health, but she’s smoking indoors, which can be harmful for everyone in the house. I approach her.
KANKRI: "Excuse me, 6ut I'll have y9u kn9w that sm9king ind99rs is an extremely danger9us activity, and I'm g9ing t9 have t9 ask y9u t9 st9p. Sm9king, specifically sm9king ind99rs, n9t 9nly can be harmful t9 y9ur 9wn health, 6ut als9 9thers. It can damage y9ur lungs, 9r even cause cancer, taking y9ur life."
???: "いいえ"
A moment of silence passes as I realize there is a language barrier between us. I take a breath.
KANKRI: "It appears there is a language 6arrier 6etween us, which is understanda6le, 6ut I'd still appreciate it if y9u'd put y9ur cigarette 9ut."
I pick up a nearby ashtray and present it to her.
She takes another drag and she blows it in my face! My head is enveloped in a foul-smelling cloud of smoke. I cough and wave it away with my hands.
KANKRI: "W9uld y9u please just c99perate with me and at the very least g9 9utside?"
???: "私を犯してくれるなら、やめるかもね。"
KANKRI: "Ugh, I d9n't understand a w9rd y9u're saying! TW: f9rced m9vement."
I grab the girl by the arm and drag her past the other people and outside.
KANKRI: There. See? That wasn't very hard, was it?"
I turn around to leave, but then she speaks again.
???: "一口吸う？"
KANKRI: "What?"
I watch as she removes the cigarette from her mouth and places it in mine. It happened to be while I was taking a breath in, so I ended up filling my lungs with thick, foul smoke. I cough for a while, my eyes watering. I spit out the cigarette and stomp it out. I'm sure to confiscate her pack as well, before storming off to find Cronus.
