maki groans, frustrated. “i just thought—if i had her say my name—it wouldn’t be so—”
“embarrassing?” harua interrupts him, one eyebrow going up in disbelief. “you thought having her call your name like a dog was going to spare you that humiliation? wow, it’s like you can’t do anything by yourself without someone giving you the orders.”
briefly, harua wonders if he's being too mean. they’ve all been persuaded to do some pretty embarrassing things for their fans, all in the name of fanservice, and maki being asked to bark when their whole group is literally based around the concept of werewolves is pretty tame. but instead of defending himself with a quick-witted retort or an easy grin, like he would with the other members, maki just makes a sound akin to a whine. his knees shift to subtly press tighter together, the barely-there movement catching harua’s eye, and harua looks down.
what he sees confirms the suspicion that he's always had, somewhere in the back of his mind where it’s been locked up for the sake of maki’s sanity and his own. maki likes it when harua is mean to him.
maki barks for a fan. harua shows him whose puppy he really is.
