Summary
Jayce Talis has always known what his future is supposed to look like. As the son of the late sheriff and heir to a respected family, he is expected to take his father’s place, protect the town, inherit the family ranch, and marry Mel, securing the future his family has carefully planned for him. Then he meets Viktor. An inventor living on the outskirts of town, Viktor has little interest in the traditions and expectations that govern the people around him. With his strange machines, unfamiliar accent, and reputation as an outsider, he is everything Jayce’s world tells him to avoid. But what begins as curiosity slowly becomes something neither of them can ignore.
